Cause with Washington/Gafford Luka has 2 more wheapons to work with now. If that first game was a sign of whats to come... The league is in deep trouble! Luka with a casual 32/8/9 stat line against the Thunder... Nothing special for him, right? Until you look a bit deeper. He only played 31 (season average 37.5) minutes, had a TS% of freaking 78%, an indiv ORtg of 153, and most crazy... His Usage was under 30% (instead of his normal 36%+)! If Dallas gets Lively back, then we finally have 48 minutes of elite rim rolling and athleticism at the C position... Luka and Kyrie will have field days basically every game. I am sure no PO team in the west wants to face this Mavs team if healthy.

I'd love to meet the people who think mavs are better without Luka. I can tell you the Hawks would all say, if being honest, they'd kill to go back and take Luka instead of Trae. Same with the kings taking bagley. Or any of the teams that had the chance to take Luka.
I could be 100% wrong, but I think this can be attributed to his soccer background. He’s nowhere near as good in cleats, but the no-look passes are abundant. I used to say the same thing about Steve Nash who also plays soccer in his down time.
It is kinda crazy that swapping Grant Williams, Seth Curry and draft compensation for Gafford and Washington has the potential to make this much of an impact. If those two players were added to OKC/Denver/Philly/LAC I don't think there would be that much of a swing. Luka really has been playing with less talent than every other current MVP candidate his entire NBA career.

You know, i could see how Embiid would be the MVP fave but with him out, i dont understand how it's not luka. ESPN folks were saying SGA, Gilgeious Alexander, is ahead of Luka. That seems insane. Luka's stats are much better. And yes i know OKC has a better record but not by much. Is truly disrespectful.
