Showbiz Pizza was owned by Chuck E. Cheese at the time, that's why the commercial and the jingle are similar! After seeing the final boss in Battle of Olympus, only then did I realize how much of a Zelda II ripoff it was! As we have seen in previous videos here, the Super Mario show sure got some interesting guest stars!
I had the majority of those Beetlejuice action figures; *sigh* I wish I never gotten rid of my toys haha :( Seeing the commercial for both The Guardian Legend and The Battle of Olympus makes me want to revisit both games!
I've heard of The Battle Of Olympus, but never actually played the game. Seeing game footage here tells me that it's a Zelda II ripoff, but is it any good? The Guardian Legend is an amazing game; tough, challenging, and fun. Also I loved the Whatchamacallit commercial after seeing it one too many times as a kid, and remembering it vividly :D
Battle of Olympus is apparently a very good game that is often considered a hidden gem of the NES, but it feels wrong to praise something that is so blatantly a clone. We're not just talking general gameplay mechanics, but even the character sprites/animations are more or less traced directly from Zelda II. If it had come out for a rival system and Nintendo weren't getting a cut from the licensing they almost certainly would have been sued.
80sCommercialVault There is another NES game that is considered a Zelda II ripoff called Rambo, which is loosely based off Rambo: First Blood Part II. The game play mechanics, control scheme, & some of the enemies are no more than a copy & paste feel of Zelda II, except that game is terrible, & it butchers the movie's storyline.
Fruity Pebbles-maybe Fred and Barney shouldve teamed up and did a Run DMC -style act Starburst-back when they tried being extrrrreeemme Battle Of Olympus-if that game had been made today it'd probably be developed by The Asylum's new videogames division lol The Cosby Show-claasic "Vanessa Got a D" episode
Brings back memories as four year old kid, hanging out with my uncle, us watching Saturday morning cartoons in his room

I had that Beetlejuice action figure, with the swords going through him !
It's funny. I haven't seen that whatchamacallit commercial in 30+ years but I sang along with it like I saw it yesterday
I love that no school special commercial you don't see fun stuff like that anymore
Man that Whatchamacallit commercial is burned into my brain.
mr. Roper dancing with Mario and Luigi LOL
Those fighters would have been perfect for me about four years earlier. I don't remember those things.

General Mills has announced, due to high demand, they're bringing back the original flavored Trix.
Yea you cant see the shapes as an adult.
Wesley was a creep! Oh wait... not Star Trek? Doesn't matter. They were both creeps.
So, Trix are for dogs as well, but not rabbits. Makes sense.*
*Heavy sarcasm
Barney Rubble is gangsta!
OMG magic middles needs to comeback.

Wait, did Chuck E. Cheese's steal the "Where a kid can be a kid" slogan from Showbiz or did they only start using it as a result of the buyout?
Showbiz was renamed Chuck E. Cheese's by 1992.
Could Battle of Olympus be more blatant about ripping off Legend of Zelda?
Showbiz pizza is a blatant Chuck E Cheese ripoff. Lol
The history is a lot more complicated than that: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ShowBiz_Pizza_Place
