    When I pour things like that, I strap my mixer on a pallet, then put it on my tractor forks and take it to the forms. I can generally dump it out of the mixer straight into the forms.

      I would probably have concrete everywhere lol. We only did two bags at a time, not hard, and form only 10 in wide even for a shovel that’s tight

    I found out a few years ago that a black shirt out in the sun can raise your body temp 10 to 15 degrees. Lighter color do seem to help but when it hot, it's just hot. Have a blessed week...

    Glad to see you're back from vacation, now maybe you'll get some work done around there. LOL Looks good Richard and Jennifer. Moving right along and on schedule for the sawmill to be delivered and set up. Looking forward to seeing you in action with the new WOODMIZER SAWMILL, it will be so different and a lot less lifting and straining once the log is on the mill. You'll get use to it pretty quick and you'll be a little less tired too. Stay safe and keep up the fun around there. Fred.

      Yeah, I’m glad she’s back too to help get something done around here. When I saw her after she got back, she said well what you do this week I said nothing. She knew I was lying straight up. Anyway it’s gonna be really exciting when the sawmill is hooked up and running because I can get on with working on the solar project

    Just curious, why did you pour the concrete so wet?

    • @SmokyMountainOutpost
      @SmokyMountainOutpost  17 дней назад +1

      So that it would flow to all of the corners since I have so much going on in that hole and it’s so busy I didn’t want to try to force things so it’s all gonna dry at the same and get hard anyway. It will attract moisture from the ground around it. It just makes it a little easier. I think to finish it off.

  • @mscharylee
    @mscharylee 17 дней назад +1

    I sure do hope that the sawmill fits on to those bolts. I know that you are a genius when figuring things out Richard, but knowing exactly where to put them when you don't have the sawmill there is almost impossible.

    It’s a shame Richard that you couldn’t get a cement truck there to pour it would have saved you a lot of time and headache and yes there might have been a cost but you would have to bite the bullet . Good luck and have a safe day.👍

    • @SmokyMountainOutpost
      @SmokyMountainOutpost  17 дней назад +4

      I could have, but it would cost more and I have videos to make where people like watching “work” LOL. Seriously, I don’t mind it at all. Makes me feel good like I did it myself… and still waiting on sawmill

      You’ve probably never seen me do that before, but since there was lot of anchor bolts and I had to go under and around stuff, I mixed it up just a little bit wet so that it would pour into the corners and I wouldn’t have to force it in

      You know it really bothers me to say you’re right. What has happened to the world around us. Nobody has any knowledge of any skill hardly whatsoever now I’m speaking of a lot of the younger people, but it’s like they don’t even care or don’t wanna know. I’ll tell you when push comes to shove, they’ll wish they had those skills and the discipline to back them up. I’m not trying to speak negative, but that’s exactly the truth.
