One slight inconsistency is that the trusts in this dungeon CAN limit break. Isn't it canon that limit break is powered by dynamis which the ancients cannot use?
I imagine that Dynamis can boost the power of a Limit Break, but I am given to understand that it is still primarily an Aether based phenomenon. As battles progress, leftover aether is left scattered around the battlefield, represented by the LB gauge filling up. Once there is enough of it, those engaged in the battle may then draw upon that lingering aether to serve as the power source of the Limit Break, though this consumes and uses up the Aether in the process - hence why the gauge depletes instead of letting you just spam Verflashbang. The Synodic Scribe did a fantastic video breaking down the various Limit Breaks and the established lore for them that existed well before Dynamis was introduced.
