High I'm Paul Great for a first pistol. It’s easy to handle, and the trigger is better than Hickok45 says. The accuracy is great, and I’ve had beginner shooters do very well with the 19 Gen 5.

Great video as usual! I've bought 3 month ago a G17 gen 4 in really good conditions w accessories for a very good price. of the Gen 5 I appreciate the rounded end of the slide and the ambidextrous release. not so good that they didn't smoothen up the rail under the barrel. after all, this gen 5 is a good point that shows you that Glock is alive and well, always trying to improve.
The gen 5, 2.0 version got rid of the magazine cut on the grip, and added front slide serrations. So that takes care of the two biggest gripes about it.
There is 1 important thing everybody misses when talking about a gun, they talk about the sights, the trigger, how it feels etc. But remember you have to maintain your firearm and GLOCKS are super easy to maintain super easy to take apart and super easy to put back together once you are done cleaning and oiling. Not at all! I prefer them. I think glock should at least made the front part of the grip modular just for those who enjoy the finger grooves. Just like the back straps but in the front. Im sure in the future someone will come out with it.

I should add I bought it from Bud's and it was my 3rd purchase from them. I highly recommend Bud's to anyone who hasn't given them a shot. See what I did there? LOL
Just got my Glock 23 Gen5 being that I’m a .40 S&W guy. I made sure I got the Ameriglo night sights with MOS. No plastic sights and no cutout on grip. Front serrations added. Nice freaking carry gun!
From my understanding and training with firearms I have always used the slide lock/release to send the slide forward. For me and the way that I have been trained it is the fastest way. Once you push that magazine in keep your hand there hit the slide "release" and fire away.
I know it's a reliable gun and all but so are most others and ascetically it's the most boring thing on the market. It has a cool factor but not like CZs or HKs. But it's a great option for the people looking for a utilitarian firearm.
Just moved to Nevada looking for a first gun. Clean record I never shot or held a gun. Is this a solid gun for first gun using it for range and home protection. Man your range skill is phenomenal sir! 👏🏽😍👍🏽
I've been a Glock guy for a very long time. I have a few of them. On watching this video comparing the various generations of the G19 I noticed you repeatedly mention how Glocks "just work." I believed that prior to December 2017 when I ordered a brand new G29 Gen4. It would NOT cycle reliably with various ammo, various mags etc. I returned it after reading and seeing videos the return spring was defective generally. I tried replacing it to no avail and ordered a new Gen3 G29. That one would not go back together when the slide was removed so I haven't a clue if would actually shoot. Third time being a charm and all, I ordered the third G29 Gen3 and it's great. I have all three Glock 10mm's. Love the cartridge. I don't use them as dust collectors, I shoot them all regularly. I contacted Glock Customer Service and they did not reply. I wrote a letter to Josh Dorsey the CEO for Glock in Smyrna, GA who also did not reply. I just mailed a letter to Gaston Glock in Austria but I doubt I'll hear a thing from him. My point is, the new Glock pistols are hardly anything bordering on "perfection" I'm going to pick up a G19 used when I find one I like, but I'd never buy another brand new Glock. Not only don't they work reliably, Glock doesn't care about it. Don't misunderstand, I love Glocks, but I expect them to run. Like they used to. I shop with the same local gun store who can confirm everything I've said here is accurate if anyone cared besides me. I'd not part with the Glocks I have that all run reliably. I watch many of your videos and find them accurate and interesting as well as fun to watch. Keep up the good work. But Glock in my personal experience is like the old grey mare, it ain't what it used to be.
I just bought two pistols off Buds, the Glock 19 gen5 9mm, and a CZ P07, 9mm, I was on the fence with both guns but after watching your videos, I pulled the trigger, I gave you credit for both sales because you deserved it, love watching your videos.
That gap, or magazine well cutout, is extremely uncomfortable for me to use, enough so that as soon as I saw it on the Gen 5, I decided not to get it. The bilateral slide RELEASE and magazine release is nice, due to my hand size I can use those controls on the right side of the frame better than on the left. However, what really killed it is the frame NOT contoured to the bevel on the front of the slide. They redid (and ruined) the frame, they lazily placed right side slide release on it, and completely forgot to contour the muzzle end of the frame. OR they saw it and just decided "our stupid buyers will never notice anyway" which is countless times worse.
River Styx Armory I don't get not matching the bevel on the frame. Doesn't that defeat the point? I don't like the cutout either. No Gen5 for me. My Gen3 30 has both the slide and frame beveled!
Hey hickok45, Stopped buy my local shop to buy a holster for C.C.W for my G27 GEN 4 and started looking at the G19's. I wasn't planning to buy another pistol. So I started picking up G19 GEN 4's thinking what the heck here we are. I thought that I would eventually purchase a G19 Gen 4 because I do like the finger grips. Any way I saw 1 G19 Gen 5 sitting there and I put it in my hand and said, "Yeah Baby", $565.00 later I brought my first G19. And it's a Gen 5 and I know I made the right choice. Great Video Hickok45...
Just got my gen 5 glock 19 and the trigger is crisp AF. Very safe too. I like the semi safety on the trigger. It’s nice and safe but at the same time easy to pull if you actually try to. Hard to explain but it’s a good gun. Keep being you hickok, much love
I purchased the gen 5 glock 19 recently and it has serrations front and rear on the slide. I noticed yours didn't and I thought that was one of the changes. Love your enthusiasm when you're on the range. Thanks

A true gentleman. I had the honor of meeting him at the NRA Annual Meeting a few years ago.
Switzerland: Rolex
Austria: Glock
dany boulii now one has both
Just moved to Nevada looking for a first gun. Clean record I never shot or held a gun. Is this a solid gun for first gun using it for range and home protection. Man your range skill is phenomenal sir! 👏🏽😍👍🏽
Carried the G23 for years. I prefer the new G19 Gen 5. Nice to see the original style grips again.
I carry a g23 and just got a 19 yesterday but gen 4
I've been a Glock guy for a very long time. I have a few of them. On watching this video comparing the various generations of the G19 I noticed you repeatedly mention how Glocks "just work."
I believed that prior to December 2017 when I ordered a brand new G29 Gen4.
River Styx Armory glock doesn't care they know fanboys will buy regardless
Picked up a Gen 5 19 last week and after shooting it, I found the cutout to be extremely uncomfortable as well. Will be swaping out to a Gen 4!
The awesomeness that is the gen 5 Glock!! Can't wait for the new generation of .45's to come out! Sweet Sweet Sweet!!!
Intruder opens door “Hickok45 here” proceeds to unload two glocks on intruder. 🔥🔥🔥
I'm sure most criminals ain't gonna break into a house that has 2 gun ranges in the yard and empty brass laying everywhere.
@@scyorkshire2496 most criminals are stupid and opportunistic, they’d see a possibility for a big pay day selling those guns and go for it
@@scyorkshire2496 idk some criminals like taking risk😂😂but this would definitely be his last risk he ever took💯
I refuse to purchase a firearm before I watch the Hickock45 review of said firearm.
Man this guy is the Bob Ross of guns! These videos are so therapeutic to me
I'll stick to my Gen 3. Still prefer the Gen 3 out of all them...

Man in Tidy Whities Glock Gen X - Will recognize your face before letting you fire.
Thanks
@@terryschultz5290 i think your comment was posted in the wrong spot brother. Either way have a good one

I bought one last month. My 2nd pistol. Cant wait to take it out shooting this month.
"Let's shoot another mag first, do you mind?" No sir I don't mind, may I please have another??? I love watching you shoot, almost as much as I love shooting!!!
Over 2 years ago I bought my very first Glock 19 Gen 3 & I can proudly say that a HUGE reason why I made that purchase was because of Hickok45 AND Iraqveteran8888!
He shoots pretty fast for an old man. Thanks Hickok 45! Love your videos!
He shoots pretty good for any man! What are you talking about?
Wow what a covertly hostile comment
What kind of holster is that? Do you recommend one for the glock19 specifically?
