  • After 25,000 miles I check the valves to see if they need adjustment & find that they are spot on! So I install new plugs, clean the airbox & put it back together.

    Not quite sure how you measured this as from what I understand the 1T or 2T marking with a vertical line is the one you should be viewing for TDC you have the markings with a horizontal line in the viewing window (4:47) which makes the cam lobes sit at off angles (7:02), they should be opposite and facing away from each other (45 degrees). How did you measure your clearances if not at TDC ?

    I have z800 with around 28k miles. Performed valve checks last week for the first time and everything was spot on just like yours. No adjustment needed. Put everthing back on with new ngk plugs. Good to go.

    Just wanted to thank you for making this video. Ran into an issue aligning the cams and the crank and your video gave me what I needed to get it right. '12 Ninja 650

    I've got a red 08 Versys with about the same miles. Love it. Thanks for making how to videos on this bike. Very helpful.

    Ce n'est pas bon. Vous confondez les marques 2IT et 2/T. 2IT c'est pour le contrôle, 2/T c'est pour déposer les arbres à cames.

    Never put paper towels inside of your Throttle Bodies or your Spark Plug Holes. Just cover the holes with clean rags

    Why couldn't they design this thing with removable shims like everybody else ? That's bullshit having to remove the cams. I haven't seen anything like this since a '54 Jaguar xk 120.....

      @kz1300club  5 лет назад +1

      On motors that are made to rev over 10k rpm on a regular basis, they're made with shims under the bucket instead of on top. Harder to adjust, but no wear on the shims from rubbing on the cam & no way to spit out a shim at 12k rpm! Of course you'd never rev it over 10k, right?

    • @bufallobiff
      @bufallobiff 5 лет назад

      @@kz1300club ...So the shim is under the bucket and the bucket must be removed to access it ?

      @kz1300club  5 лет назад +1

      @@bufallobiff Right, & to remove the bucket you pull the cams. Wasn't that your complaint or did I miss something?

      @@kz1300club Nope....that pretty much covers it. I just inherited an '07 650R from my son and with all that plastic I'm just going to pretend that they're hydraulic.....
