Such amazing topic. Full of information, research and tools for stable, strong feet for foundations of mobility. I believe orthotics used are just one element to aid the feet but physical movements for toes, ankle, arch mobility is key above just being supported. One main issue is the fascia that connects throughout the body including the feet is important to stay flexible. It’s one major part to all the movement and health of the body. Great presentation. Always learn so much from you.

I love your videos! About arch supports-if I already have fallen arches, plantar fasciitis, and bunionettes (Taylor’s bunion) how can I balance time with arch supports and without them? Especially since I’m on my feet all day at work and walking my dog. And you advise NOT walking while working on foot strength. And please talk about bunionettes!

These seem like great strategies for fallen arches. Strengthening the feet goes pretty slowly it seems and they can get overworked so it is nice to have the option of a temporary brace here and there.

This is wonderful info. I notice all of my toes seem to be aligned BUT my smallest tow on my right foot has begun to curl inward and sideways, as if it is tucking into my 4th toe. Is it possibly my shoes?

My son has overpronation and I am glad that I found this video before buying bulky spongy shoes from major brands like asics, new balance. I am sold that barefoot is the correct solution. My question is how do I make my teenager to do all that is suggested in this video. Currently, he wears normal pointed Nike shoes with custom insoles. Which suggested shoes can he start with? Can he still wear his custom insoles with some of the toe separators and shoes suggested on your website?

    • @barefootstrength

Start with a shoe from our flat feet list barefootstrength.com/find-my-shoes/shoes/presets/health/flat-feet/
All have removable insoles so he can replace with his current orthotic. They also all have wide toe boxes which can accommodate the use of silicone spacers.

I use spacers but more then 10-15 minutes makes my feet hurt so I gotta take em out. Trying to do more foot and glute stuff

I found I can only wear my 2 widest shoes with silicone spacers. I worked over a few weeks to wear them all day. Sometimes I changed to yoga socks.

Thank you for this video! I'm looking to buy some toe spacers, but I have a large foot size-13.5 US (48 EU)-so my toes are also quite large. Do you have any recommendations for me? I'm concerned that regular toe spacers might not work well for my bigger feet. In general, I struggle to find good products in my size. Fortunately, shoes aren't an issue, but things like toe socks and arch support insoles are hard to come by. Do you know where I can find high-quality insoles, toe socks, and toe spacers that would fit my feet? Thanks a lot!

Could use some advice. I have one foot with a really strong arch and the other with a flat arch. It drives me crazy and messes with my knee on the flat foot side. I’ve been working on my hips in hopes that maybe I have an imbalance there that’s causing on side to go flat. What would you recommend for something like this?

@Barefoot Strength: Advisable to wear insoles while working out?

    • @barefootstrength
      @barefootstrength  2 месяца назад +2

Depending on the workout and current foot condition, I recommend that my athletes train barefoot during bodyweight exercises that don’t involve running or jumping. For weightlifting sessions and activities with impact (running and jumping), shoes with arch support can be used. As their feet get stronger, they can gradually modify this approach.

I basically never relax my feet and force it straight, to the point it feels more forced to relax it. So when I walk I walk by keeping my feet up 😅The only problem is I have bad balance but maybe that’s to do with weak muscle ?

If not, then it might be that your glutes on that side of your body are firing less than the other side. Try the glute activation test found in this video: ruclips.net/video/VcpMkfELmc8/видео.htmlsi=sCw1ksE3VQJCROe7

I think you cannot fix bunions without surgery beacause the reason of bunions is overgrowth of toe bone, how you can shorthen the bone without surgery?

    • @Ryber1

Barefoot shoes are NOT good for anyone that already have bunions. Please do not suggest this. I have been working to straighten my toes out using custom insoles and toe spacers and doing exercises. This takes time but using BF shoes isn't ideal for those of us that primary need shoes to walk on asphalt or concrete. There is no easy way around this. I am using Gravity Defyers and Orthofeet with wider toe boxes. I tried Altras and they were awful.
