Everything is coming apart very well. Hard to believe nothing is totally rushed up. She definitely needs a good cleaning. You are an Iron Man to be able to lift that head WOW!!! Very enjoyable video Nathan thanks.
That head so similar to my 15-30. My head has 2 exhaust ports rusted so bad that they leak coolant to the valves where they pass through the water jacket. Those combustion chambers same design. Be careful of your back ! Fascinating tear down.
I agree, penetrants like WD40, work well and help with the undoing, but not really for the initial 'breakfree', but you always think it will. Thanks for you vids.
It looks like the MAC light is dimming and that might be the key to the camera interference. There is three ways to dim a light, reduced power (doesn't always work with LEDS), turn off a portion of the light elements (if you are using more than one) or PWM which turns the light off and on faster than the human eye can usually see and uses that to dim (more time off is more dim). My guess is that your Mac light is doing that and not at 60hz in any of the modes which is probably what your camera is expecting (since US and Canada electricity is 60hz)
I drug a 44 massey home in 2003 that hadn't ran since 1977. It had a soup can on the exhaust and the engine was stuck. I only wanted the tractor for parts. I took what i needed off of it and there it sat until 2006. A fella that had a 44 he was restoring needed the front pulley off the engine. Since it was supposedly stuck i grabbed a 3/4 inch ratchet and socket and went to pull the pulley. To my suprise, the engine rolled over backward. I ended up giving that fella a pulley off another engine with a cracked block and investigated what was up with this one. Turned out number 4 exhaust valve was stuck open so the piston would hit and it couldnt roll over. I ordered up a set of gaskets and tore the head off. Oh man that engine looked like new inside. With some mucking around i got the valve out. Cleaned it up and reassembled. Ended up putting the engine in a 44 special. It flipped over like 3 times ans burst to life. If you go to my channel you can see it running a grain auger and raking hay. Was a good score. Take care Nathan.
@@Military-Museum-LP it sat in a shed for 45 years so it was protected from mother nature. Barn funds are definitely the way to go for that reason alone. They are so much easy to get apart. Thanks for watching
Now you know why everything has been coming apart so easily, she wants you to get everything cleaned up right and let her live again! We've talked about lifting heavy 💩!! Taking that head off like that, is almost like horseing a 10 speed back into a truck on your back, with the transmission on your knees.. (don't ask me how I know)

The engine appears to be built pretty stout! Happy to see the cylinders look fairly clean!

My 1936 massey harris head was about 100 lbs.

I’m surprised all those hardware was not rusted tight.

I used to work at the Peterbilt shop so I know exactly what you’re talking about. Yes I think she will be a happy tractor again once I’m done!
You need to invest in an engine crane.
@@Catman701 your correct but it’s pretty hard to use on a non concrete floor.
