    Also for those of you who know there was a great man that lived there and he used to be a medic in the war but had ended his days in nimbin he was the most beautiful gentle man and wise and funny his name was Ken! And he would sit out of the front of a clothes shop and chat with people and unfortunately he passed away in the early 2000s but hundreds of people turned out for his funeral a local sculpture carved his bust and cast It in bronze it was and is to this day the most beautiful send off I have ever attended it was open casket with flowers and guitars! Ken was Loved I wept like I had known him all my life!. And I knew him for two years.and his daughter read ‘ Kahlil Gibran’ a most radiant rainbow appeared in the sky right above us and I could go on but it was truly a most spiritual event,! I love you ken peace brother thanks for your wise words.

    I went to the first Nimbin Mardi Grass, I think it was 1972. I lived in Kyogle at the time. It is such a shame that the coppers have tried to ruin the local pot industry and the local kids. The coppers most probably worked hand in hand with the blood-sucking lawyers. Nimbin Hemp Embassy President, Michael Balderstone should be congratulated for his efforts to help the local kids. The magistrate who put those kids in jail should be put on trial himself - what a sick scumbag.The magistrate deserves to be attacked by an ice addict - he/she might then start to realise the difference between weed and ice.

    Well done, as a member of the Nimbin Community, I thank you for highlighting some of the changes us locals have seen & felt since the young guys were arrested. It is good for the wider community to know how many people come to Nimbin wanting medicinal as well as recreational cannabis. People are desperate for assistance with their pain & disease, & the necessary access to legal medicinal cannabis is far too slow & convoluted for suffering people.

    I was in Nimbin the day this occurred. I wrote an article about "Operation Strike Force Cuppa" for The Village Journal about the HUGE waste of man power, money and resources for a few teenagers selling pot in Nimbin. The place that tourists flock to from all parts of the world for pot culture. Off the top of my head there was about 50 police for a one horse town. They kicked over pot plants, took up ALL the parking in the town, terrified young kids and oldies and for what? When I started to film the police they literally hid behind barricades as even they knew it was ridiculous over kill.

    I have sat at that exact table as mick in the same position and lived in numbin for two yrs I knew mick baulderstone and Rusty and lots of good people it was a great place and the locals genuinely loved each other and embraced everyone as humans there is a lore! From the original land owners the bungalung mob and recently we lost aGreat Nimbin Local and A Great man whom I had the pleasure of knowing and meeting his whole family who are still good friends In my heart forever , who I will call JB RIP the legend , I knew the laneway boys well! and had had my run ins with them or one in particular! And honestly I gotta say that in my experience then! If the josh they are talking about here is the same one I’m thinking and his last name begins with a W I’m not surprised as he was a hot head and too full of himself. But 99 percent of the people who have lived in nimbin are good people with a more open forum in general social situations being as they are more surrounded by like minded people, ie freedom seekers who wish to go about their day as usual but be able to smoke weed when they feel like it. No big deal. The economy ran smoothly and mostly tourist on the three buses a day from Byron would roll in and everyon on it wanted weed cookies mushies or something. So no end of demand!!

    This is the most bullshit movie... I’ve been to Nimbin regularly since 2006 and my first visit was very pleasant but I’ve seen it just deteriorate and change for the worst and found a lot of people that live there have become very stand off ish and just plain rude and laugh at your expense unless they run a business and need your money.. I go there for hope of spiritual healing and to buy weed or psychedelic substances for healing and I used to be able to get it from honest and friendly locals from 2013 onwards, my last visit was March 2020 just before lockdown... I’ve been treated more and more as an outsider, not welcome and ripped off (even before the lane boys were sentenced) I was sold mushrooms that didn’t do anything, acid that didn’t do anything... and I ask for organic, natural bush buds and get slung any sort of shit that’s underweight, chemical filled shit that makes you feel terrible... the last time I went was the absolute last time for me, I’m an Aussie bloke from out of town and locals were mainly rude, the atmosphere was very grim and ugly, I witnessed racism to visitors from other countries, there was a smart arse bloke I’d never seen there before with an Irish accent giving visitors shit and accused me of being a cop.. I mean what the fuck! So that’s my feedback from a visitors point of view.. maybe because you’re local you get treated with respect but as it seems, not if you’re a tourist... I believe strongly about the positive benefits of marijuana and used to love Nimbin and only came with good intentions... but now I just find it revolting and degressive. It’s a shame

There is something to the herb. I have had neurosurgeons and rheumatologist ALL say I have an inflammatory issue with my nerves and hence my hyper sensitivity to pain. This is a fight that needs to be one, I have asked a high ranking psycologist what is going on with medical marijuana. NSW is better than Queensland but we are looking at another 10 years before this problem is solved. Big-pharma has a hold on our culture that needs to be broken, we need Ed Rosenthal or someone of the like to get this shit done. Has anybody been caught for burning the rainbow down, never found out who murdered the man out at the dump in the 90s. Marijuana is not a crime!!

      Lane boys - it is interesting that the pot dealing is out in the open - and not down a lane- so firstly the nickname for dealers isn't even based on reality! is it possible that we need to start talking about what is really happening - the ice dealers are driven out of town! but they are determined- locking up the lane boys or other locals who helped keep the town safe- is not great! perhaps the town needs to look at why they cannot look after the cannabis trade- when a few guys are in jail! seems pretty pathetic now! I suspect these guys in the interviews might be exaggerating- the woman who admits their has been a heroin problem for a lot of years- makes me think that dodgy drugs have been available in Nimbin, Murwillumbah and Lismore for the last 30 or 40 years- I actually know that is a fact! so don't believe everything in this video- its bullshit!

    Whether you try to regulate or tax cannabis it will always be available on the black market, in fact it will be more beneficial to the black market traders if this happens. Government rules and regulations will require a controlled grow environment and you won't buy it from a lane-way anymore you will buy it from a commercial shop that has to pay taxes rent wages etc and odds on it will be hydro and it won't be cheap. Trust me on this one.

      You're obviously an American because we don't call it "social security" and we spell it "cheques" not "checks". Anyway if weed was legal these lane boys would have been no different to a publican or a "bartender", they would have been doing exactly the same thing just working in a shop instead of in the lane and paying taxes and improving the economy.

    Went there early 2016..the lane boys had some of the nicest weed i have seen.. unfortunately they were only in it for profit..they charged the same price i could get from Mohammed in Bankstown for the same chronic(not pgr)..they even weighed it with digital scales..they could have halved the price and they still would have made bulk cash

    not all indoor grown cannabis is grown by organised crime, I found your comments a little off the truth. some people dont have the space or yards to grow bushbud. the chemicals you mentioned are man made nutrients which the plant requires. these residues are meant to be flushed for a minimum of 2 weeks. The weed sold in nimbin upon first contact is shit. The plants been a big part of my life for a very long time, I also have studied horticulture. Sure majority of indoor is laden with chemicals.

    • @2partiesnotpreferred226
      @2partiesnotpreferred226 2 года назад +1

      It's the pgr that is the issue in Australia. Good indoor or outdoor is just good. A lot of testing has been done on flushing and it's been debunked. As long as you don't have a nutrient overload. Weaning off the nutes towards the end is a good idea but you don't need to drown it.

    I feel for the Laneway boys and my heart goes out to them and all those effected by their gaol term. 'Someone who isn't me' used to frequent to said laneway regularly for medicinal cannabis and always used to speak highly of the level of professionalism they experienced when visiting the laneway, he expressed to me that the quality, the service and the quantity where all worth the beautiful drive into the quirky little town. Rumors of violence remained as rumors for SWIM as he never saw it first had in many years of visiting. The kinds of deeds being announced in this video went amiss on SWIM due to not being a big enough part of the community to truly understand, makes it obvious why they chose a judge from Sydney for the court case as he would be more strict and apathetic than anybody who might have any attachment to the community.
    SWIM has finally after over a decade left cannabis, over 6months have past in order to make head-way on bigger tasks. It took a lot of work, but eventually SWIM has left his comfort zone and started putting his head out in his community (one much less conscious than Nimbin), it's the kind that proudly litters because that's their right, the kind that measures ones degree of success by the possessions they own etc (you all know the story), but he maintains to attribute much of his foundation in sustainable mindedness and in being peaceful to his catalytic experiences with the magical herb among other neotropics/entheogens and a course in permaculture with proceeding experiences to do with that line of study.
    It was sad to be informed of the 'boys' gaol time, based on such glowing reviews of their services across the board, especially considering many of these young men had families and new born babies. The ones enforcing such penalties should indeed hang their heads in shame, but I assure you that they're doing quite the opposite sadly, in fact, their heads would be held so high and proud with their chest pout like a pigeon doing a mating dance because it's a win/loose thing in the domination mindset, accompanying that is the wrong vs right complex to which anybody with an expanded consciousness knows is largely a fallacy. Swim and I wish to send all of you combating this ongoing streetwar in Nimbin all of our love in spirit.. much of SWIM's activeness environmentally and socially is attributed to what your little town with the biggest heart has inspired and instilled in him.
    Much Love!

    Everyone is spouting so much hate at the laneway boys, for what reason? From what I can see they've done nothing wrong. Does it not occur to you that the bashings you claim could've been pinned on the laneway boys despite being innocent?

      You have your head in the sand,your comment on my failing you tube channel was bizzare,Having worked Cullen street every April,may and June since 1987 put me in the middle of Cullen street culture for over 30 years,Some of those interviewed have done an about face on these bums,Poor Rosemary has dealt with severe racism and verbal abuse,,been stood over for her ability to get many tourists,those she now sticks up for wouldn't have pissed on her if she was on fire during the 1990s and 2000s,She must of turned her life around to be able to forgive the laneboys,hardly boys as they approach 40, Of course I'm using a pseudonym, most of the lane thugs are so scattered who knows what the raping ,killing assauling LA crackhead lookalike thugs will do,If you read my main post and are over 30 you would know about the huge amount of serious crime they get away with.you mentioned James,all from that ere have serious records ,and should all done serious jail except for people like balderstone and Cathy s our place providing alibis ,hope you enjoyed my channel, why would you even look at it,you must have one too zoo you can cry about having no future except getting more in your dole cheque when you have some kids,,they used to bash the peaceful junkies for no reason,now they are what they hated,except they are not peaceful drug users they are a violent burnt out junkies ,now they are getting what they need, nimbin its not being a dog to rid town of xcumbags

    Nimbin was everything that was wrong with the black market and the complete opposite of what these people claim to be. Nimbin was all about ripping off tourists.

  • @waydeaarthar7594
    @waydeaarthar7594 6 лет назад +11

    The laneway boys have always been the toxic part of Nimbin. I remember when the camera's finally went up because of the violence that was happening in town. In the 90s and to now it became unsafe to be a resident or tourist and be out after dark because if you were alone there was a good chance you would be bashed by the laneway boys. Then as party drugs and ice stated to be used and sold it was coming from the laneway.The only time these young men ran it out of town was when it infringed on there profits. I can't believe how these violent drug dealing thugs have gone for so long without doing more gaol,not for pot but the violence, the meth amphetamines have always come from those thugs.Many locals have dreaded the day their kids wanted to hang down the lane.Many families have left the area because of the ice and violence from the lane.Those thugs that used to bash heroin users because they used needles and except for a short time (before NSP)cleaned up and kept to themselves were never the problem the junkie ice laneway men became. Alot of those men have been involved in violent drug crime for most of their lives. Because of the gaol bird attitude of not reporting crime the laneway boys have literally gotten away with rapes and murder. Its pathetic they were only busted for pot.There are some of this group who are good people. In general the town has lived in an uneasy peace with those thugs.

    • @waydeaarthar7594

      deez nutz Not accusations. Putting to one side the untold bashings of tourists and locals perpetrated by the thugs known as laneway boys from approximately 1990- 2010, those thugs got away with at least 3 killings,one of these bodies I saw,the other 2 passed away later from their injuries.The bdy I saw was in the new toilet block,the victims body slumped over the bowl his head a bloody pulp.The criminal wall of silence as usual went up.Everybody had a good idea who would bash someone like this in the hours before sunup.The girls who were raped and then shamed leading to families leaving the area.The brutal murder of a much loved local lady,her body dumped in the local bush. I think this video is a joke with former associates of these criminals saying how great they were.The cameras were put into the once peaceful village because of the escalation of violence. What youth club is Michael talking about? How was the rent paid in the museum? All those tourist lining up 100 per day all putting 2 bucks in the milk tin. I'm so glad that those thugs finally got some gaol,shame it was for pot and not what they deserve..I can only assume you have not lived in Nimbin long or have any link to the laneways thugs,I am going to name names on RUclips? what facts do you expect besides knowing that mob have gotten away with a lot of bad crime
