Thanks for explaining what this machine does. I kept seeing it advertised and wondered what it did. I have too many hobbies already, so I'm letting this one slide.
Just a piece of advice...when pushing something through your table saw ALWAYS push the piece between the blade and the fence and use your riving knife if one came with your saw. Kickback is a real thing and even if it doesnt hit you and can do some serious damage. Ive seen pieces of 2x4 get shot through walls from kickback.
It kicked back just a little bit when it let go, thats the first thing I thought too haha, Loved the video though, you just sold a machine for them, I’ll be getting one soon 👍
My wife and I just picked up a Cricut maker and are excited to explore all it has to offer. Thanks for the informational video! I am a woodworker and I noticed a couple of things you can do at the table to reduce the likelihood of getting a kickback (which is NOT fun). When you are ripping the thin strips, try using your puck stick in between the fence and the blade. This makes it much less likely that the blade will grab the cutoff and kick it back towards you (since the blade rotates towards the user on a table saw. When running the crosscuts, the same risk persists. The most common solution is to set your fence 3/4” further out than you need it and clamp a 3/4” block to the fence at the front end near the locking handle. Then, line the board up against the stop block and push it through with a miter gauge (set to 0). That gives the wood 3/4” of wiggle room so it can’t get pinched. You do great work, just wanting to pass along what I wish someone had told me BEFORE I had to catch a board on the chin.
I sold the original cricut over the phone when it was still just an infomercial product lol. They have improved dramatically over the years. never owned one but will definitely be buying one this year.

I must say. It's been about 10 days now that I opened the Cricut Maker box and I have come so far in the learning process! I feel very comfortable with making decals. I’m trying to decide if I need this Cricut machine. They barely started to gain popularity when I used to scrapbook many years ago. Now I’m moving into other craft ideas. So....Let’s see what happens after the video’ 💖 Edited: I NEED THIS MACHINE!!!!!!!! 😱😱😱😱😱
My Cricut Maker will be here Tuesday, I want to add more to my beaded Jewelry business, such as leather earrings and mugs... Hopefully I won't just sit and 👀 at the box!
I’ve been wanting one for a while. I love customizing things and I’d love to start a business for either stickers or using it to cut out vinyls for resin crafts or custom gifts/personalized presents

Thank you. I just found your channel today after thinking about a Cricut for months and finally purchasing one today! I plan to watch more of your videos and read the manual before I buy accessories and start using. Do you know if the clock on the free month starts when I bought the Maker or when I first install the software? Thanks!
Thank you so much for the information. I have been pulling my hair out. The problem I am having is my iPad is showing black with black letters. I don’t know how to fix that. I can use my iPhone. I will start watching you channel now. I had tried putting perm vinyl with mat and clear sticky stuff but couldn’t figure out how to get the letters off the baking. I know more now than I did thanks for explaining so calmly.
Hi! Happy to have found your channel. I just got the Maker. I'm into chainsaw carving and woodworking primarily but looking to expand, make my own tags, signs and personalized products etc... Best of luck in all you do!
Hi Christy, firstly I want to say great informative video!! I stumbled across your video because my wife had mentioned this machine and I was doing some research on it. My wife is very crafty and was thinking this would be a good machine for a hobby/ potential small business. Would you recommend this machine straight away? I know there are some cheaper options available. Thanks, Graham
Hi thank you! I bought this machine when I first started crafting and I can say it has been one of the best purchases I have made for my crafts and business. I wasn’t even sure what I wanted to do with it at first but now I use it every day to make something. A tip would be to research how to cut with it and which settings to use for different materials. If she loves crafting she would definitely like it👍🏻 I’m not sure about the cheaper versions I haven’t use many other machines, but I would definitely get something that cuts at least up to the same size (11.5x23.5”).
Yes I agree with Christy, this is a great machine for a business. It has paid for itself 1,000 times over. I make wood tags, signs, stencils, ... You will not regret xoxo Sandy
Nice project. Let me help keep you safe on the table saw. Never leave a small strip of wood between the blade and the fence. Some day you are going to get a kick back. I have had a kick back hit me in the stomach. It hurts. Of course, I now know that I should never stand in front of the blade and the board. Thank you for the project idea
I know its probably overseen but please watch your jewelry using powertools with moving parts. its so easy to get a ring caught on a saw blade. just be safe please... but ive subbed and love the videos. im looking to use my new cricut to start a small business keep up the good work.
Hi thank you! It depends on what you are doing but I mostly only use temp vinyl if I want to remove the vinyl later like for seasonal window decals or wall decals and temp car decals. I use permanent for farmhouse signs, mugs, permanent car decals, anything I want to last a long time. Hope that helps!
Like the video, but, some of those table saw cuts were kinda sketchy. When cutting thin strips like that first cut, it is dangerous to let the strip be free between the saw blade and the fence. In the event that the strip were to be caught by the blade, the wood is essentially a bullet, it can be thrown by the blade with enough force to do serious bodily harm. I would recommend a push block that pushes the work piece all the way past the blade before attempting the remove the piece or shutting down the saw. When the saw is shutdown the sudden change may cause vibrations in the blade which may increase the chances of kickback. The Rockler Micro Jig GRR-Ripper or something similar would be perfect in this situation.
I want to buy one, and I just watch what u did and I still have no clue how u did it lol. Are those different types of paper? How do I know which paper to get for a specific type of project? This is all new to me
Hi! I mostly use adhesive vinyl (think car decals) and iron on vinyl ( think tshirts) with mine. It will also cut cardstock as well but I usually only make cards or paper crafts with that. That will get you started!
Great video, I clinked on the link for the Cricut Maker but it is now outdated, so no connection made. Could you advise me as to what model this was please so I can find one to purchase. Many thanks Jo
Deciding if I want to invest in this machine. Will it only cut out designs of their own? Can it cut out around a stamped image? Many questions that I can't find answers too.
Hi! There is really so much you can do with the machine. You can cut any svg and most pngs you can find with it, so it doesn’t have to be Cricut images. If you mean cut around images you have actually stamped on paper you would need to do a few things like scanning in the page and creating a cut border on the stamped images. But it can be done.👍🏻
I want a scan and cut but my daughter thinks this is better??? I want something super simple to do my fussy cutting as I’ve just had a right shoulder replacement. So if I got a paper pad that included a sheet of embellishments I could cut and use them. What do you think???
Hmmm...I haven't used a scan and cut before so I don't know the difference in ease of use. With the Cricut machines you would be placing material on a sticky mat, so some light maneuvering with that part definitely. After that you would need to peel the material off the mat, and then weed it if you are using vinyl. With paper tho, it would be a simple stick to the mat, press go, and peel of the shapes. Hope that helps some!
I know this maker is a bit old so to speak but it's my very 1st one just for incase I don't learn didn't want to spend too much money. My questions is what device can be comparable in order to download and be able to use. What ipad which tablet and smartphones. I just saw my apple not being compatible. So I really this info. Thank you
@@AppalachianHomeCo Thank you! I'm so excited to get started. I was curious.. Do I need to get one of the presses too? I'm still watching your videos so that I can learn all about it.
My ten year old daughter wants a Cricut and I’m torn about which one to get . She’s a small business owner in the making with tons of ideas . I’m afraid of getting her the wrong machine .
The newest one if you can, if not try inspiring her to use the Cricut you do get to sell projects at local markets to pay for the newest one, CNC router, 3d printer or whatever gadget she needs next
So I have had mung Maker for over a year and just opened it and used it yesterday 🙃! Its AMAZING!! Anyway a couple questions, is it better to cut your vinyl or whatever to the correct length or close to it before placing it in the machine? And where did you get the ruler cutter? Also, I have all the main tools I need, a black marker and ordering more, a carrying case, I'm already subscribed monthly, mats, vinyl.. so what else do you think I will need? I want to be able to print on shirts and mugs(which I have purchased a more expensive heat press instead of the cricut one).
Hi! Congrats you will love the machine!! I usually leave myself an extra half inch when cutting the length of vinyl before cutting. The ruler cutter...I have one by cricut which you can find on Cricut.com, and Hobby Lobby carries The Paper Studio brand cutters which are great as well...I love these and use everyday. Sounds like you are set! Good idea getting the better heat press I love my Starcraft, it really makes tshirts a breeze. I do like the Cricut mug press tho.
Hi there, great video. If I wanted to make these say, gift tag size, would I be able to just don on paper? Or do I have to do on a certain type of wood? I have miniature frames, like 2x2 and waned to know?? Very knew to these machines. Thank you
Hi. You could do it just on paper but it may not be very durable. Cricut can cut basswood if you wanted to cut out 2x2 squares with it. You can find basswood on cricut website or at places like Michaels.👍🏻
Hi thank you! I came home from working full time to stay with my two kiddos and needed a creative outlet! I stenciled for a long time using just some paper and an exacto knife until finally got my first cricut machine and here we are.😄
Hi! I find that the blades do need to be replaced quite often. After about 20 uses mine starts dulling. Then I notch up the pressure to “more” and get a little more use out of it. After that tho I replace. So everyday use I get about a good month out of one blade.👍🏻
Hi there thank you very much for putting this up I am indeed trying to change businesses I’m disabled massage therapist in a pandemic LOL. I would be so grateful if you would do more videos on the cricket machines I really think that this will at least add to my practice and do some good for me however whenever I went to the store to look at it I thought WTF what in the world am I gonna do to learn how to use this thing and then I remembered that there such a thing called RUclips now anyway thank you very much and again please continue to make more of these I really really hope to see and exactly what I will do you now I’m sure that I’m going to go ahead and purchase the machine. By the way my name is Lori
Hi Lori! Best of luck to you...you should take the leap you will love the machine...I was intimidated with mine at first but they really are super quality machines and you can definitely start a business with one. Plus I make so many things, tshirts, hats, home decor just for the house, too.
Hi you can use iron on material for that, or screen print the names also. Botyh ways won't wash out.. The machine doesn't print it just cuts, but you can cut names out to place on different materials.
Hi! If you plan to stick to just cutting vinyl and iron on then the Explore Air series will be great. If you plan to cut thicker materials, such as chipboard, or if you would like to make foiled designs, etch designs onto bracelets and things, the Maker would be what you'd want. Hope that helps!
Love your video, it was so helpful! I was wondering, how do you have so many images for the pumpkin? Are those all that you purchased or is there a hack to get free images? Thanks so much!

I have not tried stenciling yet, but that's next. And then on to shirt-making! I'm now excited about my new hobby and my confidence grows each time I use the machine! I am glad I jumped in with both feet and did not let it intimidate me into not trying!
I’m trying to decide if I need this Cricut machine. They barely started to gain popularity when I used to scrapbook many years ago. Now I’m moving into other craft ideas. So....Let’s see what happens after the video’ 💖
Edited: I NEED THIS MACHINE!!!!!!!! 😱😱😱😱😱

My Cricut Maker will be here Tuesday, I want to add more to my beaded Jewelry business, such as leather earrings and mugs... Hopefully I won't just sit and 👀 at the box!
Yay! I have been trying some leather earrings.😁
I’ve been wanting one for a while. I love customizing things and I’d love to start a business for either stickers or using it to cut out vinyls for resin crafts or custom gifts/personalized presents
It is great for starting a business I recently just started making stickers and love them! There are lots of things you can expand into.
You will love the Cricut Maker, it has made my a lot of money with my business. No regrets. xoxo Sandy

No offense, I thought this would be more of a cricut tutorial. Like this is what you do step by step. I feel like I can make a wooden box though. Great instructions there.
Lol. Thanks.😄 I have tons of Cricut tutorials too.
Hello I just wanted to tell you your video is amazing! You shared in detail and so clearly! You deserve more followers 😬☺️ I hope to watch and learn more from you!

Hi! Thank you I'm so glad this video was helpful!
Great Videomm, I never have heard of Circut Maker - Great description, thank you
I had one of the first Cameo Silhouettes. When the Cricut Maker came out, I sold my cameo and got the Cricut Maker. I am scared to use it! It is nothing like the cameo Silhouette. I got it last Christmas and here it is a year later and I have yet to turn it on. I am watching all the videos I can and will be Turing it on right after Christmas!
Thank you. I just found your channel today after thinking about a Cricut for months and finally purchasing one today! I plan to watch more of your videos and read the manual before I buy accessories and start using. Do you know if the clock on the free month starts when I bought the Maker or when I first install the software? Thanks!
Hi that’s so great you will enjoy your machine! The month free starts when you first sign up for a Cricut account and connect your machine. 👍🏻
I LOVE your videos thank you for making it so easy to understand !
I'm so glad you like!!
Thank you for the video. I couldn’t tell what sides go up and which sides go down
You’re welcome!😊
Thank you so much for the information. I have been pulling my hair out. The problem I am having is my iPad is showing black with black letters. I don’t know how to fix that. I can use my iPhone. I will start watching you channel now. I had tried putting perm vinyl with mat and clear sticky stuff but couldn’t figure out how to get the letters off the baking. I know more now than I did thanks for explaining so calmly.
I'm so glad this was helpful for you!!
Your accent is so wholesome! ❤️
Brilliant video. Great channel. I’m definitely a fan. Keep it up. Well done😊

I just bought the Maker 3 for my wife's heat press business. No idea what it did until now. Seems sort of like the crafting version of a cnc router.
Wow this machine looks amazing 🤩
Hi! Happy to have found your channel. I just got the Maker. I'm into chainsaw carving and woodworking primarily but looking to expand, make my own tags, signs and personalized products etc... Best of luck in all you do!
That’s so nice thank you! Glad you found my channel!
I am into woodworking, tags, signs and Love my Cricut. You are going to have so much fun. It's addicting xoxo Sandy
@@mackenziemill Hey Sandy, does cricut cut wood too? What do you usually use to cut tool?
@@wenjiezhu70 the Cricut can cut thin wood, I usually use a Scroll Saw or Jigsaw to cut wood
Absolutely great video!! Could you please tell me what model you are using here?? Thank you!!😁
Hi thank you so much! Yes this machine machine is the Cricut Maker.
Hi! Yes I have learned much since then on using the saw.😉
I know its probably overseen but please watch your jewelry using powertools with moving parts. its so easy to get a ring caught on a saw blade. just be safe please... but ive subbed and love the videos. im looking to use my new cricut to start a small business
keep up the good work.
I love watching you woodwork and use your Cricut Maker. I love both. TFS, I had so much fun xoxo Sandy
Thank you so much I’m so glad!!
I truly appreciate it start to finish video
Thank you!!
Great information... question how do i know if I should buy temporary or permanent vinyls, I liked how you made the box
Thank you, Christy! You inspire me.
Thank you Li!!

Just received a cricut maker for mother's day. can you do a video on doing a decal for a tee shirt or can you direct :) :) :)
Hi thanks so much I am learning a lot about table sawing and kickback😉I do have a push stick and am going to make some jigs for different cuts.
I love your box! Easy to watch video, thanks
Thanks so much!!😁
Great video, I clinked on the link for the Cricut Maker but it is now outdated, so no connection made. Could you advise me as to what model this was please so I can find one to purchase. Many thanks Jo
Hi yes this one was the original cricut maker. I will refresh my links!
This was very helpful and awesome new friend here ty for sharing. I can't wait til mine come. I'm so excited 😆
Yay excited for you! Thank you!!
Just got a cricket maker can’t wait to learn
Yay you will really enjoy it!😊
Love your accent
Aw thank you!!
I know this maker is a bit old so to speak but it's my very 1st one just for incase I don't learn didn't want to spend too much money. My questions is what device can be comparable in order to download and be able to use. What ipad which tablet and smartphones. I just saw my apple not being compatible. So I really this info. Thank you
Loved the video as usual .You never fail to deliver .Cant wait for the next video .x
That’s so nice Andrea thank you!!
I am considering buy the Cricut Maker. Thank you so much for this video!
Hi! Thanks I’m so glad this was helpful I know you’ll enjoy a cutting machine I use mine everyday for something.😊
@@AppalachianHomeCo Thank you! I'm so excited to get started. I was curious.. Do I need to get one of the presses too? I'm still watching your videos so that I can learn all about it.
I can’t wai to start work on my cricut 😀😀
You will love it!
I love everything about this video thanks for taking your time
Thanks so much!!😊
My ten year old daughter wants a Cricut and I’m torn about which one to get .
Can I ask about the wood cut machine you used in the video plz ?
Hi I use a table saw to cut most of my wood pieces. I believe this one is a Delta it came from Lowe’s.
Is there any way to make the signs waterproof like for outdoor use. Address signs, no parking, etc.
Hi yes you can definitely seal with polycrylic. That will make them last a lot longer.
I just love these videos!
What made you get into cricuting?
Hi thank you! I came home from working full time to stay with my two kiddos and needed a creative outlet! I stenciled for a long time using just some paper and an exacto knife until finally got my first cricut machine and here we are.😄
@@AppalachianHomeCo amazing story!!! And it goes to show anyone can do it. Thank you for sharing
How often do you need to replace the blades for wear-tear if you use the machine every day?
Hi! I find that the blades do need to be replaced quite often. After about 20 uses mine starts dulling. Then I notch up the pressure to “more” and get a little more use out of it. After that tho I replace. So everyday use I get about a good month out of one blade.👍🏻
Where did you get the vynil paper cutter? I always cut with my scissors. Is it just a regular paper cutter?
Hi! I think I got it from Hobby Lobby and yes it is just a regular paper cutter..it still works great and I use it a LOT.
First time watching. Can you show us how to make signs for wreaths. Pat in NC
Hi!! Ok I will work on something for maybe a spring wreath.🤔
Thank you for posting! I'm doing some research on the Cricut Maker! loving your videos! :)
You’re welcome! Thanks so much!!☺️
Hi there thank you very much for putting this up I am indeed trying to change businesses I’m disabled massage therapist in a pandemic LOL.
Can you put designs on fabric and can it be washed i.e. dog bandanas with their name put on. If yes which machine is best, Thank you
Hi you can use iron on material for that, or screen print the names also. Botyh ways won't wash out.. The machine doesn't print it just cuts, but you can cut names out to place on different materials.
You go Girl 🙌🏾🙌🏾❤️
Thank you!
Quick question, I would like to do birthday cards for clients through the year, can i do that with the cricut? can you direct me to a helpful video?
Hi! Yes you can do very detailed cards. I will try and post a detailed video about doing cards.
I love your videos you’re so thorough thank you for your help
Oh thanks so much!!😊
Hi Which machine you recommend to buy, I do not have any idea, I want to do stickers, shirts and more, Thanks…
Half of the video she is showing how she is cutting wood on another machine ... people who clicked this video only wanted to see the Cricut options.
That’s my guy ❤
