Looks like you had similar weather to us at the Weald of Kent, Friday was lovely, Saturday was a sit around the wood burner taking bets on which Gazebo was going to blow away next 🤣 and Sunday lovely.
I found your channel a couple of months ago, having attended rallies since I was a little and developing an interest in steam from that my long term goal is to buy one eventually. So to watch your channel from the very first video seeing you test and then eventually buy yours has got me excited for when I can do that one day. If I ever met you at a rally I’d love to have a chat and get shown round Tilly and maybe even have ago whilst my steam engine fund pot builds up haha. Like I say to find a channel to watch someone go and buy a steam engine and then attend rallies with is awesome. Great channel
Thanks very much. Really glad you like the channel. I'm always happy to have a chat at rallies. Come and find me at one and I'll take you on the engine 👍
It’s a shame that the rally season is over. It has been a good one. I’ve really enjoyed seeing your adventures with your traction engine. One thing that I would be interested to see before the next season, is what sort of winter maintenance is done on the engine. When are you going to start going to rallies again?
Yes - I've got some maintenance planned to keep the engine in good order. That probably starts later this month and will be the subject of a future video. I'm also taking the engine to a Christmas fair, so it'll be maintenance rather than a complete shutdown. Looking forward to the new season already!
No. Didn't get to the white bag stuff. Wildfire is great for a rally site, but seems to struggle on the road. Needs a really deep fire and regular feeding.
@@SteamOTR it is worth a visit we have been going since 2014 it's on a private aerodrome and you can drive up and down the side of the runway and in th evening the man who owns the site usually gets his P51 mustang out of his hanger and takes off over the caravans
@@SteamOTR The Weald of Kent Steam Rally is a great event. I’ve been trying to go for the past two years but I had other things going on. I will definitely try and go next year. It would be great to see you there as well!
12:21 min. The woman is right what she says!!! I worked in a grain mill with belt transmissions. Better put hand flat on or usa a "adapter" like a stick or something!

Great video again Dan.
And thanks Oscar for reminding everyone about my slip in the mud at Ducklington🤣!
He does like to talk about it. Even though it's not true!

What a great pub run video! Did you happen to try the coal in the white bags? I saw you needed the blower on the run, as did many using the wildfire

Hello!!! Did you see Badger or highland lass??? Did you end up going to the pub on Saturday?
Missed the pub on Saturday. Didn't have the engine in steam and didn't manage to blag a lift!
@@SteamOTR Can’t blame you the weather was terrible 😅
@@Goldenbone_pro999 The scene at the pub on Friday was fantastic

She speaks wise words!
That runway was a pain in the but 😂
Yeah, it was, but I have alot of sympathy for the organisers who were doing their best.
