- I am sharing one of my favorite tacos - Tacos de Lengua, or beef tongue tacos. Now, I know some of you might be a little hesitant to try this dish, but trust me when I say that these are some of the best tacos you will ever eat.
I'll show you how to make these delicious tacos step by step, and I promise you won't regret it. The meat is super tender and has a beefy flavor that pairs perfectly with a homemade green salsa. You might want to double up on your tortillas to give your taco some extra support - these tacos are hearty and filling.
Add some sliced radishes and extra lime to really make your tacos pop. Trust me, one taco will not be enough - you'll want to keep eating these all night long.
Grab a beer and lets make some tacos together. Don't forget to subscribe to my channel for more delicious recipes.

Just how mom makes it 😁. My girlfriend loves these too first time she tried it and can’t get enough of them. I didn’t tell her it was tongue 😂.
Haha!
Excellent video!!!
I love beef tongue! Usually I cook it in a crock pot. I never thought of putting it in taco's! 😮
You should give it a shot. Best tacos for sure!
@@SJCOOKS
Definitely for sure on my menu now!
Thank youuuu .. ahorita mismo los voy a hacer. 🌮 wish me luck 🤪

Looks excellent Sal 👍
I agree, corn tortillas for tacos, especially yellow corn for me!
yesss, I do prefer yellow corn myself. I guess I'll have to make more lol. Thanks Mario!
These are my favorite tacos ever!
Mine too!
I was wondering if peeling the tongue would be tougher with it being cut up, but clearly it's not that bad. Tacos looks awesome
It's a slight "inconvenience" but really isn't that bad. Thanks Brandon!
Super simple technique for a delicious looking result. Thanks Sal for making this cut less complicated for those wanting to give it a try.
yes! I debated back and forth whether I could release a video where I don't touch the grill, but went for simplicity on this one. turned out awesome, glad you liked!
Both the tacos and the salsa looks amazing! Thanks for sharing!
I appreciate it, thank you!
Nice video brother! Those tacos look dangerously good! Very easy video recipe to follow! You nailed it man!

I’ve been wanting to try cow tongue, and my mother refuses to cook it for me, so I looked up recipes for cow tongue tacos and here I am! I’ll be getting it next month so I’ll come back to let you know how it turns out.
excellent! you won't be disapointed. but yes, please report back, would love to hear your thoughts
I love tacos and I will ALWAYS watch a taco video! This is awesome!

Thanks Mike! when you do give it a shot, let me know. it's good eatin for sure
@SJ COOKS yes i agree sal. I eat it everytime I see it on a menu just never cooked it. May have to make a "gringo cooks cow tongue 1st time" vid lmao.
Haha, Yessss do it!
Do it triple dont hold back, and don't worry if it's not perfect. With the learning curve you will find your preference.
Ive had great n not so great lingua tacos i like mine good n greasy. This is the soul food of tacos to me. Loved this recipe cooking it now.@TRIPLEBsBBQ
I have to say I never had beef tongue, but you made it look excellent Sal!! Rootboy Approved! 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
thanks Sal! I'll have to remember to give you a good "cheers" next time I pop open a beer at the end of my video. have a great weekend brother
Ong rootboy these are a must experience. Lengua for the feeds the tongue 👅. And she will like it too.
Thanks for the tutorial. My man is Hispanic and I growing up white as hell have never had/ cooked/ been exposed to the way other cultures use all of the animal in cooking. I appreciate it. And am gonna start with something easy.
Not only is this easy. It’s very delicious. Thanks for checking it out!
Excellent tacos brother, looks super delicious 👍🍺💯
Thanks brother! I loved the tacos
Fantastic tacos bro! I also agree that they taste better than carne asada tacos!
it's a very bold statement I know, but it's so true!
Definitely look delicious food 😋 ❤
Thank you!
Thank u for sharing I always wanted to try this I'm gonna prep today❤
You will love them!
How did it end up?
Tacos tacos tacos!!! This sounds so amazing Sal! I'm so happy our local grocer is regularly carrying tomatillos that we can try out that gorgeous looking salsa. Loved the method in here as well. Can't wait to make this for ourselves!
I love green salsa! It’s the first type of salsa I remember eating when I was little(maybe 4 or 5), I’ll have to tell that story in one of my videos because it’s a funny one
Great recipe. My mother would cook tongue when we were kids. But to have tacos tongue sounds awesome. Thanks for sharing.😊
They are very tasty! They won’t disappoint
Wow, I would love to taste that. I have never cooked with beef tongue, but you make it look delicious. Wish tomatillos were available here. And I agree corn tortillas for tacos, plus they're gluten free :)
thank you for checking it out!
Those look delicious!
Thanks Leo!
Great video! I'm trying my first Lengua tomorrow! Had to watch a pro do it!
Ohhh excellent! I love me some lengua
Man, those look awesome Sal. I'm going to swing by my local taqueria and try it out.
you will enjoy I am sure!
Oh man, this looks amazing. I'm a white chick but lengua tacos have always been my favorite above all others. The first time I tried them I was wanting to experience something new so I got some street tacos from a Mexican ran taco truck. I grew up in Utah and most of my neighbors were central to south American or Spanish, so I got exposed to some of the BEST Latino food EVER, from carne asada burritos, to enchiladas, to menudo (Though I'm still not a fan of tripe, I just really don't like the texture). But now I'm tossed on whether to go buy the tongue to make these OR get the pork shoulder/butt to make Chinese BBQ pork buns. With the price of groceries right now, it will be a choice of one or the other. So... yeah. Unless...hmm, can the lengua meat here be used in making Tamales? What other recipes can the lengua be used in when prepared like this? I'd like to see you maybe do a budget video where you use left overs of past meat you've made and incorporated them into different dishes.
Pork shoulder is def cheaper and you get a lot more meals/meat out of it. It’s also very versatile in what you can do with leftovers. I do have a video on here on what to do with leftovers. I usually don’t cook a lot of lengua because of the price, if there are leftovers, we usually end up doing tacos again or a burrito. The only other way I know of to cook lengua is in a tomatoe based sauced. My mother in law introduced me to that. I might make a video on this soon. Thank you very much for the comment and feedback!
son tan deliciosos los tacos de lengua
gracias Amiga...estaban deliciosos!
Used to have tongue sandwiches in New York delis when I was in my twenties. It's not much different than regular beef. Maybe a little Milder
That sounds awesome. Never had it in a sandwich before
Looks great Sal! I love Lengua but I've not made it.......yet!
You should do it for sure Al! I’d look forward to seeing what you come up with for sure!
@@SJCOOKS working title “Taste the Tacos that Taste You Back!” - what do you think?
lol! I am sold. in fact, I clicked on the title several times, until i realized it wasn't a link
@@SJCOOKS lmao Sal. Look for it over the summer!
Thanks for sharing the video🎥
thank you, I appreciate it
A mi, ¡me encanta los tacos de lengua!
Yesss I just made some the other day and it’s something I should cook more often for sure!
About to try this! Thanks for the video!!! Looks so good
Thank you and very glad you enjoyed it!
How was it?
Awesome, I like lengua that salsa rocked
nothing beats some good tacos with a good salsa. Glad you enjoyed!
Tacos tacos tacos!!! Nice work primo! Yo necesito tres tacos
For sure primo! I hear the more tacos you eat, the better your Spanish gets. So clearly it’s working ! Lol have a good weekend !
Thank you for sharing. will make it tomorrow!
Very cool!
How was it?
@@fatimaanaya7446 it was impressive!
Hey SJ, how would you attempt sous vide the Lengua? I am kind of puzzled how much I should cook for just myself. Can I re-freeze the Lengua once cooked through? I'd try other recipes, like Ragu with it too. I hope this reaches you soon, thanks for the awesome Video!
you can definitely vacuum seal and freeze leftovers. that's actually a pretty good idea! I've never sous vide lengua before but now I want to try it! I'd probably par boil it to get rid of the impurities and then peel the tongue. cut into slices. season and then sous vide. I'll have to try myself and if I get good results I should make a video on it!
my mother in law cooks the tongue and then finishes it some spaghetti sauce, served over rice. I thought it was weird at first but I do enjoy it that way.
Thanks alot! Although a great Idea, I have to consider the sous vide might take 36 hrs, so I will try my first time the traditional way as in your Video. Have a nice one mate! Greetings from Germany
Nice. I love lengua. The food truck I get it from, they add lettuce, tomatoes and slice of avocado. Any reason most ppl don’t add those?
Do you like them that way? That’s what’s important. Thought It’s not traditional to use lettuce, tomatoes and avacado, I don’t see why you couldn’t add them, especially if you like it that way.
thank you for this video!
thank you for watching!
Omg!!! I'm making thisss!!!!
Niiice!
Merci pour cette délicieuse recette et à bientôt mon ami😍😍👍👍28
Thank you!

Iam up on top of a mnt campin. I just made my first tongue. All on camp fire 🔥. I slit and stuffed and rapped in foil cooked for 5 hrs.
That is awesome! Very glad you made it work.
Damn im making it now but for the boiling water i have the garlic cloves bay leaves and onions but forgot to buy that red pepper i hope it still tastes the same
It will. Pepper don’t really make it spicy or anything. You are good
I won’t eat no other tacos but Lengua im addicted 😂 I just don’t like cooking it
It’s very addicting. I am craving them now actually. Haha
@@SJCOOKS already had 4 today 😉 can’t pass up tacos on taco Tuesday
gotta love taco tuesday....where you from? what other tacos you like?
Tongue me, hermanooooo!!
every single video I release now, I wonder what you are going to reply with lol ...and you never disappoint! haha
What gloves do you use?
i use black cotton gloves that I bought at a bbq supply store and then over the cotton gloves, I put nitrile gloves on.
What kind of onion? Yellow?
I don’t remember. But white onion should be used if available.
Try splitting before cutting into smaller pieces
Good idea!
I just made mad nudoo and tonge 🌮 . Iam never going to restruamt again.
That’s amazing! Restaurants are so darn expensive. Good to know food at home can taste so much better
Corn tortilla lovers have el cucuy in their house 😒 😂
😂 uyyyyy el cucuy!!
Folks don’t know what they are missing out with tongue and beef cheek.
I agree! Well more for the rest of us I guess lol
Corn is for men flour is for women and kids.
lol
😢😢😂😭😭😭You really should have roasted those peppers. Cooked salsa is ok, but it just doesn’t land as nice. We’re cooking the tongue for hours, so we don’t really have an excuse that we’re in a hurry.
So vamos despacito, llegamos más rápido.
you are right, roasting the peppers is waay better!
Don't try it without hephastus permission. He's my advocate for the dish.
Niice!
La echas a perder al picar, ka lengua es rebana
hola amigo. A mi familia le gusta picarla, tipo "barbacoa" pero entiendo... a muchos prefieren rebanada.
