I love that you gals comment on the bass half way through, since Steve Harris' s bass playing is so crucial to the songs of Maiden. He was also the founder of the band back in the 70s. Also we we hear Clive Burr on drums here, which for me is the best drummer they had (Nicko is great as well, and fit the band but Clive was totally outstanding IMHO).

Somebody was an american indian in my family. One of my uncles did a deep dive into the german,english,irish,french,dutch,scottish family and supposedly one of the french guys impregnated an indian and I don't know what tribe. He investigated as hard as he could and couldn't find out what tribe she was from but they lived in Louisiana area like New Orleans so maybe the tribe was close to there. I guess it was consensual. I HOPE it was consensual. I don't know how unusual it is for a white guy to do that consensually when that happened before the 20th century. Anyways this song is awesome regardless of all that!
Iron Maiden is my favorite band in the world. I have been fortunate enough to see them 3 times and most recently saw them this past Sunday in my hometown of El Paso. All I wanna say is that you guys are in for one of the most exciting shows of your lives. They are honest to God one of the greatest live acts ever.
If you ladies really dig Bruce's vocals, check out Hallowed Be Thy Name. If you want bass and diversity in it listen to Rime of The Ancient Mariner. For guitar listen to The Trooper.
Such a Discography to explore, but yes I would utterly confer! This is actually one of my least favourite tracks, although it does make us remember the Genocide of the Native American Tribes. Personally I would suggest you listen to Murders In The Rue Morgue on Killers 2 - They changed the lead vocalist to Paul Di'Anno rather than Bruce Dickenson. The band played so well on this album, OMG it's amazing! Also listen to Prowler from Iron Maiden 2 (1980) sooo rough it's almost early live!!! My personal favourite is Prodigal Son from Killers 2!!! OMG the lead guitar is sublime! I also love Bruce's solo track Chemical Wedding - he's got one of best vocal ranges in Metal, better even than Dio!

I have to agree Prowler and Rue Morgue are awesome songs. I also loved Running Free and Remember Tomorrow. Both top notch songs in my book. I also agree that Bruce is an incredible vocalist and his stage presence is amazing. I won't compare him to other great vocalists because they're great in their own rights and for different reasons. Drummer Clive Burr left the band after this album and was later diagnosed with MS. He passed away in 2013. He did a great job on the first three albums. His successor Nicko McBrain is also great
Just saw them live here in Seattle last night 9-29-22 and they kicked ass! Played all the hits including this as a first of 2 encores. Amazing. Bruce is 64 and stiil performs like he’s 20 somthing. And drummer nicko is 70 now!

I still got my posters and t-shirts some 36 to 40 years later many of the tees are now in frames like the posters are my grandkids want the shirts Paw Paw says I don't think so.
Iron Maiden are one of the best live bands ever. Maybe only Queen and Pink Floyd in their prime could top them. You will have a great time at the concert. After Iron Maiden you need to see Metallica live. Not as good as they were in their prime but still great.

I believe Bruce has a PhD in history and teachers or has taught at a university.

I think the first two verses are from the Indians point of view then the next two are from the soldiers pov.

I am so glad that you girls got that this song is about the conquering and destruction of North and South American tribes by the English, Spanish, French, and Portugese (sp). And later, after they had established nations on the respective continents, those new nations continuing that trend. Most Iron Maiden songs are history lessons as well. Funny thing is, I went to the Iron Maiden concerts represented by the shirts you both are wearing. Both Powerslave and Piece of Mind were excellent shows. You will enjoy your Maiden Voyage.
I still got my posters and t-shirts some 36 to 40 years later many of the tees are now in frames like the posters are my grandkids want the shirts Paw Paw says I don't think so.

Iron Maiden are one of the best live bands ever. Maybe only Queen and Pink Floyd in their prime could top them. You will have a great time at the concert. After Iron Maiden you need to see Metallica live. Not as good as they were in their prime but still great.

I have seen the band last september 2nd at Rock in Rio, and they played this song and other classics. Simply amazing!!!
