Can the three of them get a sitcom?
The good game(Slendy), the gamer, and the sucky game (FNaF)?
That's their opinions , but over 20 million FNAF fans disagree.
+Deadshot The Unknown fnaf is a terrible game series.
That's your opinion.
@@titanfreak2936 fnaf is amazing fight me if u dare
fnaf scares me, but so do the Chuck E. Cheese animatronics, so that's probably why. Until Dawn didn't really scare me, but that's only because I was more caught up in the mystery aspect of the game.
Brandon Roberts yeah, that's what I was talking about. an experience is only scary when it continues to scare a person after they're done experiencing it. that's why the fear factor of an experience varies from person to person. for me, fnaf happens to be one of those experiences.
+Lisa Lucente Thing is, Freddie's and Dawn do one thing the same, only Freddie's does it better: Exploiting the players' fears.
What FNaF does is take common fears - creepy animatronics, powerlessness, etc. - and turn them up to 11. Sure, if these things don't scare you, you won't be scared, but a lot of people are, and the appearance of these things in a way that many didn't expect when they played the first game made it terrifying for them. Until Dawn, however, does this in a far inferior way: Having a literal psychologist appear and ask you what scares you. Great job on the subtle mind-tricking horror there, guys. Yeah, my main phobias are ice cream, blowjobs and Game of Thrones marathons, so I sure do hope you don't put any of those in!
Tommy Middleton By the last part of your comment, I'm going to assume you're a Zero Punctuation fan. To add to that, though, I don't think many people know much about the main monster in Until Dawn (which I will not name, for the sake of spoilers.) At least, I didn't. It's hard to be scared when you don't know what you're supposed to be scared of.
Lisa Lucente While I do like Zero Punctuation, I also just think that if you want to psychoanalyse your player subtly then don't have a visible psychologist asking questions.
Tommy Middleton Right. I got that. It's just that your wording was very similar to Yatzee's in his review of the game.
A video that acknowledges that people are different, don't have to agree on everything and that's fine...
cool
+Crick1952 Yeah, I dig it.
Wait but that’s illegal isn’t it 😂🤣
The difference is one type of these 'horror games' startle you the other scare you.
big noise and a close up = you get startled
getting scared = waay more complicated
Thank you!
It's also very dependent on the individual. If I had to point out the best designed HORROR game in fnaf(without counting the vr one) it'd have to be one. The power system can make you tense, wanting to check where things are but worrying about how much power you have left, fearing how long somebody will stay at the door. Of course this kinda shit isn't going to be scary for a lot of people but it definitely is for us anxiety heads, waiting in line at a fast food place makes me scared incase I miscounted my money or I couldn't make my mind up on what I wanted fast enough. However.... little Mr SteelWool came onto the picture with their VR know-how. VR is amazingly perfect for vr games because you can take one of the least scariest concepts and make it gutt wrenching for a good chunk of people. A sense of scale and immersion can do a lot of fuckery with the brain. Will admit though I'm majorely not a fan of jumpscares right on my eye balls.
@@lifeoflonexia496 I would argue that four does it even better.
The whole idea of needing to listen for breathing makes you so absurdly uncomfortable and on edge that it becomes brutally terrifying in its own right.
What made fnaf less scary
The fanfiction
Actually it made it more scary , all the things you see give you atleast 1 year of terapy.
I think you mean fnafiction
@@chrono2208 not those fan horrors the weird songs and bad animations but some of the songs aren't bad though
Oops i clicked on dislike accidentally but uts a like now
Now that's scary and disturbing
Fnaf Scares me, because you feel powerless and you cant move or hide... No place to Run and No place to hide Until dawn scares me because you feel attached to the characters.
I like FNAF not because it's scary... but because it's fun and the designs in my opinion are awesome!
Lulu B play night trap old game fnaf basicly stole gameplay from it
@@ShirouBrando ok well f you
Yeah me too
@@ShirouBrando what are you talking about? Night trap has live action video camera. How did FNAF "steal" that? Night trap doesnt own the idea of having a camera based horror game. That's like saying sonic stole from Mario because they're both platformers
plus the lore behind it really makes u think... like seriously fnaf 4 not making sense still keeps me awake at night

+Jesse Crandle You must be fun at parties...
+Jesse Crandle yeah....theres nothing great about landing a hit when you ask pewdiepie to play your game and everyone laughs because of his jumpscares....sooooo nope no respect for this guy cause this game is nothing than youtube-hype and just a simple game everyone can make if they just try to learn how you program with graphics and sound (a thing every 12y old can fo today because pf a new thing called internet)
and dude....wow you must be the one guy nobody likes because hes a lame, bitchi idiot who destroys everyones fun at partys
monsterhunter883 That's a lovely opinion you have there, slick. Unfortunately for you it is popular, and it is a hit, and it did make Scott rich, and nothing you can ever do will change that.
All you have to say about my synopsis of Until Dawn is that I must be a buzzkill? Lol... that's some real arguments for anyone to start giving a shit about that triple a title with b class story.

The way you described until dawn is the precise description of undertale
Le Person is right
Oh no, another cancerous member of the fandom...
Day V Entertainment
Dude, just cause you don't like the game and the fandom doesn't mean you can go around giving your opinions, people might like it. Keep your opinions to yourself dude.
Lord Gamer No I won't. Undertale is a cringeworthy game and you know it. It is filled with annoying ships, theorists and anime. Cringe! I won't keep my opinion to myself because this game needs to be forgotten!
Lord Gamer Why don't you? Undertale is a cancerous game. You're just butthurt because all I have said was all true.
FNaF .vs. Until Dawn
FNaF: The storyline & atmosphere
Until Dawn: Action & choices
That's why I like those games.
I’m probably the most fnaf fan of all, but that just a theory... A GAME THEORY
You forgot that fnaf has insanely deep lore are way more terrifying then the actual gameplay
I like how they say that "Until Dawn" is a thriller, but when you actually play the game you get more jumpscares then every FNAF game combined.
Also, most of the characters of "Until Dawn" that you are supposed to care about suck, the only relatively good one is Sam
@@tombarvarski2849 And the choices are dumb
Most of the time you are the one deciding to kill off a character before backtracking to check the different outcomes
I mean the begining of the video literally showcase that. You can either live, live or do nothing and die once the slow quicktime event is over
Freddy is like. I got a movie coming out. Me sitting here in 2019. Wait wasnt that canceld like twice
LightLock no, it was that he wanted to change the script to make it better, because he thought that the community may not like it, so he delayed it to rewrite the script
E
No, it was never cancelled. Where did you hear that? They just changed it from WB to Blumhouse and changed the director and writers.
My Gaming Home soooo it’s cancelled for a time
Nope
I love how slender man is so goofy in this video, it's great
Fnaf does have a story!
It has too much
hitsquad don't lie to yourself
How is this lying? A major chunk of the fandom is solely because of said story. That's how I got into it.
Collin Maurer hater
But you have to be a really good theorist to be able to piece together the story. Every story has a connection. We now know that Purple Guy is Ennard from Sister Location, who tampered with the animatronics in FNAF 1 and 2 to make them malfunction at night, and murdered the five children. After the spirits of the children frightened him, he hid in Springtrap, which shut him down. He awoke years later in FNAF 3 and haunted that place.
Completely predictable ending.
Also, the problem with this is Until Dawn also heavily relies on jump scares.
For a real horror experience, try First Encounter Assault Recon or Alien: Isolation.
+Skeletor Jopko Horror is subjective so therefor there is no "real horror experiance". For example I found until dawn, alien: isolation and fnaf completely horrifying but fount FEAR completely not scary
Eggdrasil Warthog Sorry. The above comment should be taken as my personal opinion based upon subjective experience.
I guess it's still necessary to include disclaimers while commenting on RUclips videos. :\
Eggdrasil Warthog Also, my point that Until Dawn heavily relies on jumpscares, arguably as much as FNAF and Slender do, still stands.
Skeletor Jopko atleast in comment section in which a flame war has started :\
Eggdrasil Warthog I really didn't expect my comment thread to turn into a flame war, and that certainly was not my intent.
Merely stating observations, and my relevant opinion along with them, m8.
I'd say that five nights at Freddy's was the scariest because in until dawn there's usually a counter before your character dies so you know if it's coming.
We are comparing an indie game with one developer with a commercially produced game.
Really riveting discussion. Truly groundbreaking.
+Epicfilmslol Mate, did you hear about how the dev for Fnaf offered to give Markiplier 30,000 bucks to finish off his charity goal? That's a lot of money....sure, Fnaf 1 was a small project, but after making all that money, it's his own damn fault for not hiring help. Oh, and Until Dawn was only PUBLISHED by Sony, some very small company called Supermassive actually made it...just saying....
+RantingRogue First of all it was 250k but yeah, and whatever dude, it's still indie by one guy.
Epicfilmslol I'm not saying it's unimpressive, I'm just saying that it's perfectly acceptable to compare 4 indie games to another argueably indie game...
+Epicfilmslol then lets compare indies. fnaf and amnesia the dark decent. how do you explain that?
+Vini Avellar That's a better comparison that actually makes sense. Don't ask me though, never played Amnesia; still in my steam library, waiting.
Scariest game ever is Bad Rats...

This was a really nicely done video! It discusses the horror genre in an intelligent, non-judgemental way and gives credit to both kinds of scary games. A lot of commenters seem to have completely missed the point, ("FNAF is better!" "Until Dawn is better!") but that's okay! I'll try not to laugh at them too much. They're just passionate about their opinions.
Heheheh it's still funny though. They're so silly and easily upset!
It would be cool if you did more videos like this that where funny, but also brought up a interesting gaming topic. great video!
i liked until dawn but i honestly didnt find it that scary.
+erikrules12 same but it's scarier then FNAF
+Joseph Hoffman I didn't find either of them scary. I found FNAF creepier, though, if that counts?
Triceritrozer I agree that both were not scary but until dawn is creepier to me
+Joseph Hoffman I can appreciate that.
its just thriller game
People are scared of fnaf cause most people have a fear of animatronics and for some people it might be not being able to move and feeling hopeless and that's why fnaf is scary
+The Zombieyoda I am deeply terrified of animatronics, but I've gotten used to the jump scares in the first game at this point.
+The Zombieyoda well it does take place in the 80s. :p
The Zombieyoda Not only 7 years old got this "animatronic/doll-fear", I got that too, and I'm 14 ._.
for me until dawn is one of best games 2015 has to offer :>
Are you fucking... Fallout 4, Battlefront, Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain, Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
+natureboy nineofour He said one of the best, not necessarily the best. Besides Witcher is as overrated as Call of Duty.
+natureboy nineofour fallout 4 ? it might be complete shit we dont know yet it will probably rock though
Justice Lord yeah, i totally agree
Antek Fałowski the witcher 3 is way better than dragon age inquisition
Fnaf has so much lore and it is so hard to fine that you’re always trying to find hidden clues and that’s what makes it great
I like horror games with good story telling and character development. That's why Until Dawn is better than Five Nights at Freddy's. FNAF is still scary but the jumpscares have made me immune to jumpscares now, which really suck.
I feel the same way. Good story telling is what makes a game good, especially trying to figure out the mystery behind it all. Getting close to a character, then having to save that character's live is important. With FNAF you can't really do all that making Until Dawn, SOMA, Resident Evil, and games like those better. However, FNAF uses the main cliche of horror and limits your abilities to make you fear what the animatronics can do even more. By using a main cliche, first person, and giving the character a time limit makes the player feel that they're in the game instead of trying to save a character that they're over-attached to in the first place. While Until Dawn is a great game, it's more of a mystery than horror with a few jumpscares and uses what you are most afraid of against you. With the motion controls it also allows the player to feel that they're in the game. I'm not denying that FNAF is a good game, it didn't really scare me while Until Dawn gave me many anxiety rushes especially when you had to be still when the wendigo was near you and I found myself shaking and had to set my controller on the table.
DAY-V Entertainment™ but sister location is scary because it has a story and the sense of fear
Jason Carling I know. It is because Scott tried something different.
DAY-V Entertainment™ Do you have any idea about the timeline?
*Joey Tudor* What do you mean?
Back then : oh a new game fnaf
Now : whats slender
Until dawn is WAY better than Five Nights at freddys.
Agreed
+Jake Lapp until dawn is better, but fnaf is scarier.
Fnaf is until dawn is shit
starfront22 no, fnaf does not scare me , but I do not consider until dawn a horror game,it does not scare anyone.
Chrystoffer miranda dos santos I honestly don't consider Until dawn as horror, even though that was it's intention. I'd say it's an RPG with a horror theme.
I love how these videos are all good jokes, but at the same time they actually consult real problems, and teach good lessons.
I love this video and how even when they made clear that you can have both game to exist in the same world, the fans what to argue about it because reasons
FNAF used to be scary but then the fandom and the amount of games being released in such short time just ruined it but slender man still scares the shit out of me it’s just being alone in this dark area with no weapons for defence and knowing that a creature that is far stronger than you is hunting you down is just terrifying
"Go Slendy Go Slendy..."...
Why does this one sentence telling me I wanna watch a Slendy VS Spidey movie?
Still waiting on that movie Scott
Freddie himself is not scary but the jumpscares are it could be a cute fluffy kitten and it would still get me.
+DMAN D it is not scary at all
+DMAN D You should play Spooky's House of Jumpscares. It's free.
***** I have :D
No offence but people are talking about how fnaf relies on jump scares, when in until dawn ur jump scared literally every 5 minutes, the scariness behind fnaf is the tension it creates, every time u play. The music sets the atmosphere and its that build up hoping u make it through the night because u know in the back of ur mind that if u make one little mistake ur gonna get jump scared.
And fnafs plot is told in ways until dawn can't do.
On the other hand
Until dawn is a great game but not every decision changes the story, it was overhyped. Still a good game though and was still very scary, but the jump scares up weren't earned , they just popped up. In fnaf it's ur decisions that cause the jump scare.
Both very good games equal in my opinion. Scary in different ways
Absolute great demonstration of how important are the sounds effects. I knew there would be Slenderman or someone in the end, but my heart still missed a bump when it happened. Genious.
FNAF has one of the best mythos and story I've seen in a horror game. It is detailed, well thought out and every major plot point connects to the other, there is no wasted motion.
Until Dawn was okay but it really isn't great as people make it out to be, especially when people compare it to Hideo Kojima's PT
5 nights actually has a pretty substantial bit of lore to it from what I've heard. I mean it doesn't change the fact that the gameplay is jump scare based but still you are undercutting the game a little here.
"They don't have a movie coming out"
in 2023 that aged well
Gets even funnier now that Until Dawn is _also_ getting a movie!
SOMA is such a good example of a good horror

b. comparing a standalone dev game to a triple a title
+Kaos Rio exactly
FNaF is shit. Deal with it mate
Sadly
Wait you mean the completely made up lore? Honestly, Scott probably just threw in those murder Easter eggs and shit just to have a good laugh, but you kids had to come along and be like "HOLY SHIT THIS GAME IS SO GOOD, MATPAT YOU NEED TO DO A THEORY NOWWWW!!!!" And because of that, we are stuck with soon to be 5 fanfic games....
Fnaf* damn auto correct
half of these people are fanboys. but until dawn is better than fucking fnaf
I've never played until dawn but I know it's better
Amen brother! Preach!
+MrBackhouse36 Are you worshiping the devil because fnaf is more scary
+Joe Like but gameplay wise? Until Dawn completely destroys FNAF at that.
+Joe Like until dawn isn't exactly scary I'll admit that. But it is a million times more interesting than FNaF. And that's saying something cause the 2nd act of until dawn was pretty terrible
Davis: you limit the character by taking away their sense of movement
Scott cawthon with security breach: are you sure about that
The FNAF jump scares were never scary, they were shocking due to how loud they were in contrast with the rest of the game. As we see in this video, they aren't shocking due to the volume being the same as the rest of the video.
If there's one thing FNAF did right though, it's limiting the player to create tension instead of empowering the player. This is a step in the right direction to making a game that invokes fear in the player, and it's a shame that so few games are doing this nowadays.
I like both. #grabspopcorn
+HBE Games NO! YOU HAV 2 HATE 1 U IDOIT!
I don't have anything to say about that
+HBE Games I think you are new to this so let me show you what you have to say... FNAF is for children and just internet hype but Until dawn has depth of story and a creepyness that brings you into thier world #grabspopcorn. OR FNAF is nonstop fear induced horror and you are on the edge of your seat until the end while Until Dawn is just a bunch of exploring and is soooo boring #grabspopcorn. btw I think both are great in thier own ways but still dont make it into my top 5 horror games.
+Adam “Chocolate” Milk Nice profile picture :)
Av, Hoovy, uh, uh.. how do I put this in YOUR language.... POOTISPOOTISPOOTISPOOTIS.
But the lore is way more complex than until dawn.( Love this video by the way.)
Quite honestly, I have to disagree. FNAF has excellent mood and story, and builds the tension very effectively. As demonstrated by this video, a jumpscare on its own isn't very scary. Five Nights manages to make them scary by giving the player a feeling of imminent doom. Personally, I think it's a VERY scary game, especially compared to many other "survival horror" games.
Ryan Barham, very well said.
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem.
That game seriously messes with your head
its the sound effects that get me, especially fnaf 4 you know the Jump-scare is coming but the anticipation, ambiance of the atmosphere, and overall stress that just winds us up so much that we jump even though we know what comes next.
"Woah woah you have kids man" lmao
Whilst I agree with most of what the video has to say, I will say FNAF has a sort of horror element to it, but it's more suspence. You never know when something will jump out at you, and, in the case of FNAF 4, the things that jump out at you are truly horrifying.
However that doesn't excuse the fact that most of it is jump scares. Having jump scares incorporated with a feeling of suspense and staying on your toes (examples include Outlast, Alien:Isolation, and Until Dawn) are much better than having every scare be a jump scare, and getting immune to them.
I think I just contradicted myself.:P
I TOTALLY AGREE
+MarkSurge9411 yeah, while this video said that theres no place for jumpscares in the horror medium, at least i think thats what it is saying since freddie lost the bet and davies didnt say it. but i think they do have a place, when they are thematic and make sense and are done right, like the one in until dawn where you turn to walk down a hall and you see a wendigo shadow through a window behind you crawl away, that is a really good jumpscare. i personally think that jumpscares are valid IF they are done well and you space them out, rather than having them be your only soure of scares.
I'm not sure I agree. In the first game certainly they had a feeling of suspense but by the second it was predictable and by FNAF 4 it was more annoying than scary
Jack Layton What I mean is, the jumpscares get you in the games the first time they happen. THEN they begin to get bland.
Although I will say I jumped a bit whenever there was a jumpscare in FNAF 4. The animatronics were legitamitely terrifying in that one.
MarkSurge9411 i dunno, i'd say the animatronics in fnaf 4 were TO horrifying, like, to the extent that they werent scary because it was ridiculous how scary they tried to make them.
bioshock 1
better and scarier then fnaf and until dawn
but still thought, until dawn is waaaaay better then fnaf
+nicko bagaskara the critical penguin Alien Isolation is better then all of them
@@iquestioneverything3426 Until Dawn is not scary, it's just a ripoff of 80s horror movies
FNAF Twenty Nineteen laughing in the distance
I really love when an RUclipsr says something like "I don't like it, but there's no problem if you like it". It makes the person so much more reliable and respectful as an Reviewer. It's really irritating when someone tries to go all "sophisticated" and say "U suk becuse u laik jupscres" all you have to do is be polite and show your perspective.
I really like Horror, and i really like FNaF, and i feel like i have all the motives to hate this franchise, but something appeals to me, i can't tell what. Maybe is the setting, or the characters, or some concepts like SpringTrap. I know that the game is basically Jumpscares all time, but the funny part, is that, the only parts i actually felt fear playing, was on the time that the game slowed down to tell it's story in a subtle way, this being on the "Shadow Bonnie Minigame" on FNaF 3. and The Puppet Cutscene from FNaF 2. There was no Jumpscares on those parts, but the atmosphere were so intense! The music and the graphics really matched on those parts, was the only time i felt scared and was not from prediction of jumpscare.
I really hope taht the movie can turn out great. Gil Kenan seens to be very excited about directing it. But i don't think it was fair comparing it to the Angry Birds movie...

EVERYONE PLAYS FNAF FOR THE STORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SLENDER MAN, YES I LIKE IT, BUT DOESN'T HAVE A GOOD STORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AMAN!! What IS the story of Slender? All you do is collect pages! ALL games are easy to predict! People play for the STORY!! NOT THE GAME!! Scott gives the money he earn to CHARITY! What about the developer of Slender or Until Dawn? They keep their money to them self!

Outlast is also good! Cause it has a nice story! So does FNAF! I don't see any theories about Slender!
I mean, it's a good game and I like it, but it's boring without an actual story.
+T Gray FNAF is a terrible game with a terrible story that only a kid could find compelling. Oh no kids are dead! Who could it be? Oh I think Freddy because he is a bear and bears kill things. The community is retarded and so is the story, kids died and were put into suits, ooooo soo compelling.
+Friendly Aleks then do you know who did the Bite of '87? FNAF has more questions, theories, and a bigger fandom than any other games! (Except for Outlast) FNAF has a deeper story than "oh no children are dead!" It's more of who and why.

Wow a couple of mysteries doesn't make a deep story. It's a horrible story and it basically is "Oh no kids are dead! Which killer robot did it?!".
The scariest part of this vid was SlenderMan’s dance moves

+The Ender gamer yes he does, just as I know the assassin's Creed movie will be shit too
+Fionn Krahforst No he doesn't.
The story makes sense
FNAF makes my skin crawl just by looking at them. Probably because most animatronics look like a fun cartoon suit. While the animatronics look like robots pretending to be animals since you can notice that there is no fake fur but just different coloured plastic meant to replicate the colour of fur. The way you can see the small gears and joints makes them seem undead before you realise they are children possessing animatronics after being murdered by a psychopath dressed in a bunny suit which makes the already unsettling visual concept 3 times as scary.
This has to be a series
That moment when u knew there will be a jump scare but u still got scared by it.
wow... admittedly i was kinda expecting a real jumpscare there, thanks for proving me wrong! I am actually thanking you that's not sarcastic
I know that this came out in 2015 but fnaf has tons of lore now.

Many people don't realize the difference between being Disturbed by something, being Startled by something, and being genuinely Scared of something. Though this is my problem with most modern horror films, it to an extent can apply to Horror games as well. Creepy or Gross doesn't necessarily mean Scary. This video puts the horror genre of games in a very well put context!
A horror game needs to be scary and the only thing that can scare in a video game is a jump scare
Two games, one scares by making your childhood a living hell where Winnie the Pooh bites someone's frontal lobe off and big bird gets a lazy eye. The other one is fueled by instinct and basic elements of fear.
There should have been a alternative ending when of the monsters from until Dawn kills thems. P.s I'm sorry if someone already said this cause I got to lazy to scroll down
When u get jumpscared so much u get used to it:
I like FNAF for it's "hidden" story. I just like the process of gathering clues and finding out the whole thing.
I find this video hard to believe. I've watched scary game squad, and I don't think Davis would be so calm around slender man and Fazzbear. =)
What's scary (at least scarier then the other games in the series) about the first and sixth games is that there's no guarantee your strategy will work.
haha, the irony. Slender popping out of nowhere was quite the jump scare.
People think that FNaF relies solely on jumpstart, then you clearly never played it without ruining it with walkthroughs and let's plays. It creates fear of an approaching threat rather than fear of the immediate danger. It is scary if you learn the mechanics for yourself, rather than watching videos about it first. It creates paranoia and panic as you try to learn how to survive. The jumpscare punishes if you fail. There's a reason why most people who played it within the first month called it scary: They actually played it without watching walkthroughs or let's plays, and learned the mechanics themselves. I actually found FNaF more scary than amnesia or alien isolation within the first four nights.
Started sounding like Melvin when he was ranting at Freddy....
Was I the only waiting for Freddy's jump scare in the last conversation
Slendy, why aren’t you preparing for the fight on Halloween?
I was kinda expecting a jump scare at the end.
