I like how as a drummer he's more influenced by the guitar groove..the bass holds it all down leaving the drummer to go crazy with the guitar. synths keeping up the ambience..no wonder these guys produced so much music. so much fun.

Now I'm really confused about Cedric's vocal situation because he sounds amazing here.
Al I think he was just never taught how to sing; lack of technique may harm one’s voice and make u slip when performing.
It’s improper technique, lack of warming up, overuse. He still has potential to sing a lot of his previous notes with the same quality. He just needs to really baby his voice and be constantly keeping it in check. He does that in the studio and gets pretty damn good takes when he’s entirely focused on doing so. When he’s live, he abuses his voice multiple times per week and it’s going to be inconsistent. He’s doing damage to his voice and has known vocal nodules and other issues, so overuse is going to be his downfall, hence his voice in 2018.
@@ExternusArmy yup. Apparently he had started consulting a vocal coach around 2004 which I think contributed to his peak performances in 05-06. The thing is, Omar's productivity was absolutely relentless so Cedric could hardly catch a break. I think he sounds pretty solid here because he took his time with making the vocal parts for Noctourniquet as opposed to hitting the studio right after a tour.

This was billed as a Omar Rodriguez Lopez Group concert. The surprise was that Cedric was singing too. They have albums where they do this such as Cryptomnesia or Old Money. Usually this happens when Omar does almost all the work and Cedric is just a performer. This song made it to the last TMV album Nocturniquet.
it was actually a TMV concert but they couldnt promote it as that because of contracts with the label.
