what was first the race or the movie?
Movie was filmed in 05, released in 06 and the race was in April 06. You can tell because Benny Parsons was still in good health in the movie

@@jasonjason-kg7hv Agreed. You can tell who the unfunny guys are when you see them on talk shows, especially, when they lose their wit & humor because there's no script to go off of.
I'm a NASCAR fan (albeit not an obsessed fanatic as I used to be), and I have never seen Talladega Nights, even though a dvd was even given to me as a gift. Why? Two words:

@@nascageWill Ferrell is not by any means a great actor but he is a pretty funny dude when he’s out doing his own thing. I wanna say in 2015 he wanted to try his hand in MLB baseball, and in one day got traded I think to 10 different teams and got an at bat with each one that day, I think it was some kind of stunt to get money for a charity. But when he’s off doing things like that, it’s pretty damn funny. Also, Talladega Nights might be one of the best if not the best nascar movie ever made, you’re absolutely losing out because you refuse to watch it for the fact he’s in it.
@@smunger69 I used to watch Saturday Night Live religiously starting way back in the 80s in the Eddie Murphy, Joe Piscopo, Dana Carvey (etc.) years, then along came a guy named Will Ferrell who joined the cast. I never thought he was funny then, so I had zero desire to watch anything that involved him.
I'm not missing out on anything. Good for you he can make you laugh, but he has the opposite effect on me. To each their own. 🤷🏻♂️
