I believe that the answer to that particular question would be a solid NO! Have a great day, and Merry Christmas to you, Sir.
Are you guys talking about that 18 kid that Tony put in the wall during a dirt track race??? So it's not just older rich drivers and teams he has to wreck to pass. He does it to high school kids at local short track dirt racing. What class. He knows he hit him on purpose and killed him.
@@billtmarchi4320 The dude wasn’t even in high school anymore and the kid basically asked for it when he ran out in the middle of the track 🤷♂️ yes someone died which is very awful but I would feel more bad if that kid thought it through how dangerous that is
You can't be "barely a par racer" when you have 84 wins, 3 championships, a Daytona 500, a Southern 500, 5 Coca-Cola 600s, and a win in The Winston among other achievements.
12 Bristol wins (7 back-to-back), back to back 12 win seasons... DW was and always will be an all time great nascar driver. When people see and hear him in the booth now they think of him just as some "good old boy" when in reality he was a fearless driver and competitor.
Even as a Stewart fan, he was way outta line there. He’s insulting a multi time champ, a guy who’s won double the races he’s won, and a 500. He was needlessly antagonizing Darrell and acting like a total douche. He oughta have some respect for guys who are better than him. Besides, as Darrell showed in his DEI days, if you put him in a good car, even past his prime, he could win in it.
Stewart's memory gets messed up some times, he forgets that if they gave out rides based on race performance, and not team ownership, he wouldn't have been able to race the past 2 years.
Waltrip had horrible equipment his last few years, hence the bad results. Tony had the best equipment in his own team and still ran 25th every week it seemed. If Waltrip didn't leave Hendrick in 1990, he would've won 90 races easily.
Tony's a smart azz and always has been causing trouble and acting stupid. I believe Tony was acting stupid when he killed the guy he wrecked last year and should have been punished for it, likely the reason he's getting out of the sport.
I gotta admit, Stewart is a nice guy...NOW. If you look back several years, Stewart was an idiot. He was mean to everyone and was basically a fat Kyle Busch. Thank God both Busch and Stewart have cleaned up their acts recently and not pissed off everyone else in the sport, more than they already are.

Darrell Waltrip is one of the top 10 greatest drivers in NASCAR history, tony stewart is an active driver who is pretty good. Tony Stewart should not be in the same sentence as Darrell Waltrip. Also, @TheRadicalAddiction, Stewart's Cart history has no effect on any of this, and "fucking stupid" and "ignorant" are the same thing last i checked....

I still like Tony Stewart, but I like him less than I used to. In this case, he should not have taken on DW. They both have three championships, but DW has a Daytona 500 as well as 35 MORE wins than Stewart. Further, regarding the criticism described here, DW had a point. Let's also not forget that, in one of the last races of his career, Stewart took out almost the entire field in an ill-advised last-lap incident at Talladega and which he shrugged off as 'just one of them racin' deals'. Conversely, I think Stewart got royally screwed over in the deal with that asshole kid who got himself run over by Stewart's sprint car. That said, Stewart would enhance his own brand a little more if he would just stop trying to be a smart ass. It's not a good look for him because he just doesn't seem to be able to pull it off.
Ok, Right. So everybody is like ''oh! he used to be such an asshole! but now he's a good guy". Yeah right, people change just like that. Once an asshole, aways an asshole.
I just want to say you look good in DW's record in NASCAR compared to Tony's and you tell me Tony didn't win it Bristol 7 times or five times in a row Tony didn't do a lot of things DW did that's why I do double you lasted longer than Tony Stewart did if I go along with the other comment do you're right this is exactly why I don't like Tony Stewart. Tony Stewart gives the state of Indiana bad name
@@DupontandLowesWarrior yeah. He didn't have a chance to be competitive with them. They weren't a competitive team. When he ran for DEI in 98 filling in for Steve Park, he ran well and almost won. Then Park came back, Darrell went to this team and had two dismal years and retired
LOL!!! This is my favorite! I remember seeing it live and still talk about it to this day - it was PERFECT! The look on D.W.'s face is hilarious! This is what started my love of Tony Stewart and I've been a total fan ever since.
I really like Tony, but the same rule that said "respect your elders" applies here. "Respect former champions." If there's anyone that can call Tony out, it's DW because their attitudes and driving styles at their prime mirror each other. Tony didn't have to say that here
Nocstaa So, what you are saying, if someone pisses on you head and tells you it's raining, that's all right. Well, were I come from piss in my face and see what happens. Tony had all the right in the world to come back on DW for talking shit on him. If DW can't take it don't dish it out. Riding on a has been cape is no way to go. This is a big boys game.
I'm not a huge fan of Tony, but I've always respected his "tell it like it is" approach. He was dead on with his comments to Darrell. The real shame was that it took Darrell those 2 years to realize his career was over. Boogity boogity boogity!!
Lol except he did. Big mouth Tony got told the truth and he couldn't handle it. Which is why everyone back then for the most part despised him🤣. DW is a respectful guy and a way better cup driver than Tony ever was. I respect Tony but he was in the wrong here. He was purposely smashing into people😂accept ur wrong. DW was right. He had bad equipment. Tony did terrible for quite a few years and he fell off way before waltrip.did😂😂😂
Toni Stewart is a DINOSAUR I lost all respect for him when he killed that dirt track racer .He appeared to be taunting him and it went bad for the poor kid.
Had the honor of going to Rusty Wallace’s HQ the other day to do an appraisal on his sons car. Just got into racing a couple of months ago. But after that experience, I’m a fan for life

Actually, I gotta side with Tony Stewart on that one. When D. W. started out, he, because of his actions on the Racetracks, became one of the most unpopular Drivers in NASCAR! Yet, here he is, calling Tony Stewart on the Carpet. Did somebody by the name Darrell Waltrip forget about his own past? Hmm...I think he did!
Play the Jeff Hammond response to this. I would've love to seen Hammond kick the shit out Tony Stewart. I'm not going to get into the problem Steward had this year because I for one don't think it was intentional..... But I remember this interview and have never liked Stewart since this.
ol' DW would beat tony's ass out on the track, RIGHT NOW....it was all fun and games until stewart mentioned the champions provisional. I love stewart but that was low.
DW took pity on Tony because DW knew he could have crushed with a comeback about having 35 more wins than Tony, including a Daytona 500. DW probably knew that nothing good would come from that so instead he just let Tony flap in the breeze for a little while. Class always shows, but it doesn't always speak.
I was never a DW fan, but you got your facts wrong. DW left Hendrick to start his own team and did win a few races in the #17 Western Auto car. Maybe you should get your facts straight before bashing someone that was instrumental in this sport.
how competitive the racing I watch on TV is. We live in a time where 4 seconds is considered a dominant victory. In the 70s 4 seconds was considered close. I like seeing close racing, I like seeing all the drivers walk away year after year. I respect everything that went on in the 70s and 80s, but I don't think we should go back to that. We should keep moving forward. Plus, we're in the 2000s and you think it was better in the 80s. But I'll bet everything I own that in the 80s they wanted th 60s
Tony will never be DW. Only God knows if he killed that kid on purpose but what we do know about Tony he is a hot head. NASCAR is not the sport it was in the past. They forgot who their fan base was. The Southern White Man.
tony is very immature. ignoring a black flag that he may not have deserved at daytona in 2001 is understandable but now blaming his flaws on DW and mike joy who explain reality to fans at home...now come on!
And that right there was the day that any respect I had for him was gone. I couldn't believe it. Disrespectful to the highest degree. Karma is something. Then his temper got the best of him and a young man died. Sad.
Wow, as a Tony Stewart fan, this is disgusting. I usually like the fact he's outspoken, but Darrell was right, he was wrong, and furthermore he needs to show some respect to Darrell, he's was better driver than Tony is. That one was bad.
This video could come back to haunt Tony Stewart. With the new rules for 2012 does Tony transfer the 14's points to Danica Patrick and take a chance on the champs provisional? If he does and has to take the champs provisional I bet ol D. W. has fun with this video. I don't know if he can transfer points under the new system but I hope he can not to keep Danica in races, so D. W. can get revenge. I am a Jr. fan but being from Indiana I like Tony Stewart.
Wow.....I love it!!!! DW just got owned!!!! Tony has got swagger and confidence and it just poured out on DW. DW is one of the ring leaders in what Nascar has become and that is crapola. He lobbyd Nascar for slowyota to come in and never has anything negative to say about slowyota and that joke of a bro mikey. I say hip hip hoorah to Tony for that!!!!
No he didn't lol. Stewart was garbage in 2004. DW is one of the ring leaders of legendary drivers. Lmfao. Hence why he has so much. Crapola? Lol funny because Toyota is doing very well in nascar as of now. He didn't lobby anything. Stewart was a hothead and was in the wrong. And Michael Waltrip isn't a joke. LOL. He was nowhere near as good but he isnt a joke. Ur simply hate for no reason. Period. Waltrip>Stewart

Well Tony it looks like those ratings aren't as good as you said if you would have let the guys in the booth do their jobs maybe it wouldn't have gotten this bad!!!!!
100% agree with Smoke. NASCAR sold its soul for TV money. Fox was about making back that money. It became a TV show. Many's the time I watched with the volume down and MRN on the radio
Tony Stewart folks ..... he's here all week! These fucking drivers and their ego's. They are the most fragile in all of sports, hands down. Every single one of them get out there, do stupid shit, then blame it on somebody else. It's the other driver's fault, it's NASCAR's fault, it's the pit crew's fault, now it's apparently the announce teams fault ..... nobody ever takes responsibility. I know this was 2009, but ratings were all ready on the downslope by then. 7 years later let's hear Tony tell us how well the ratings are doing. Too bad too because I liked Stewart at one point. But his constant crying about EVERYTHING turned me away from giving any fucks about him or his racing.
You all are stupid as fuck on here. Im sure you have never been to a sprint car race. None of you pieces of shit could drive a hot nail into a snow bank. Kevin Ward jumped on Tony Stewarts wing and fell on his RR tire. You all can burn in hell.
I'm watching a video of Stewart because I'm a NASCAR fan. The issue isn't the people involved, it's the fact that it's a NASCAR video that I haven't seen. Now that I've watched it, I'm still neutral on it. Hey, it's racing & not every driver is going to love every other driver/presenter/commentator.

Don McTavish was killed doing what he loved to do.
I'll close with two points.
1:Do you think that, if these two drivers knew for sure, that they were going to meet Death at their respective times, that they would've driven anyway? I personally believe that the answer is yes.
2:Do you think that these two deceased drivers would put up with all of the whining and moaning that a lot of modern-day Drivers do? I believe that the answer to that particular question would be a solid NO!
Have a great day, and Merry Christmas to you, Sir.

When DW talked to Tony before the Bristol race started last week, this video is exactly what I first thought of.

@@DupontandLowesWarrior maybe look up when DW retired and when the first Brickyard race was...
I was glad when tony said this. I was saying the exact same thing about the booth making a big deal about all these incidents

Tony really was disrespectful to DW here. And DW was right.
And then Tony ran him over. Dude was always bitter he couldn't hack it in open wheel racing.

David Stewart it’s basically like he didn’t tbh
Waltrip had horrible equipment his last few years, hence the bad results. Tony had the best equipment in his own team and still ran 25th every week it seemed. If Waltrip didn't leave Hendrick in 1990, he would've won 90 races easily.

@BLACK ICEYOU ... @The42car 's comment is NOT moot.

That little bit of ignorance from Tony turned him from a champion to a chump.
There would be no more Tony Stewart
Ok, Right. So everybody is like ''oh! he used to be such an asshole! but now he's a good guy". Yeah right, people change just like that. Once an asshole, aways an asshole.

Yes! Thank you! Him and Kyle Busch. Never liked those two little piss ants
how competitive the racing I watch on TV is. But I'll bet everything I own that in the 80s they wanted th 60s

tony is very immature. ignoring a black flag that he may not have deserved at daytona in 2001 is understandable but now blaming his flaws on DW and mike joy who explain reality to fans at home...now come on!
And that right there was the day that any respect I had for him was gone. I couldn't believe it. Disrespectful to the highest degree. Karma is something. Then his temper got the best of him and a young man died. Sad.
Pot meet kettle, the young man had weed in his system and his own temper REALLY got the best of him☠️
Rusty Wallace is far worse than DW.
