@@usstockchannelThe winner is the better player. Stop making excuses. I love Hurkacz's humble personality and interesting on-court game, but Medvedev has more experience and is no stranger to big stages. Meddy is also a great person.

@@TheseHoesAreLoyalNot true. Djokovic was explaining a victory he had once over Federer. He clearly stated that Federer was the better player that day overall but the only reason he had won the match was because he had won the key points. So there is merit to the claim.

    • @TheseHoesAreLoyal
      @TheseHoesAreLoyal 8 месяцев назад +11

@@DrMic2112 Winning the key points is part of the game, and so is mental strength in the most important moments. Hence winning the match is a clear sign that the player who won deserved it more than his or her opponent. Federer did play better than Djokovic throughout the match in those 2 lopsided sets but choked hard in the most important moments as shown in the first two tiebreaks, final set championship points and the final set tiebreak. Djokovic was humble enough to make that kind of statement and we all know he holds tremendous respect toward Federer as he said that during numerous tournament speeches and ceremonies as well as interviews.
If you play well but still end up losing the match, it just shows that you couldn't get the job done and that's not how tennis works. For the same reason, Rafa also choked hard in the fifth set at the 2017 AO final against Federer and ended up losing it, and yet no one says anything about that. Everyone's instead so infatuated with Fed's "neo-backhand" in that match. If Djoko earns a win by fighting hard against not just Federer's impeccable form but also against crowd hostility, people try to belittle him and take that accomplishment away from him. If Federer does the same thing all the while there's no crowd hostility, he gets depicted as a god.
      You're just in denial.

Wow, even though the two players are same height, the polish looks bigger & the Russian smaller & skinnier, a great, absolutely great match. For me repeating as I was told many times before, if I had to do the interview, I would have asked the Russian, did you pull the winning from your bum? For what I see from both players, the polish needs to do like the Italian, forget about the circus, to please the Mob, to play for the mob, your task is to get the trophy & the big cheque, that’s it’s. You want to please & entertain the Mob, after the match get dressed in a zunga outfit & do some dancing. Similar to the Russian, your main thing is to do the main thing of the main thing, not to entertain the mob, you do so & you lose concentration, vision, continuity & momentum & not to be suffering exhaustions in a 5 set match, you must go to the machines in a gym. Also for the two guys, you must play to the opposite side where the opponent is standing, it’s silly & stupid hitting the ball 20 time in the corner where the opponent is standing, that it’s wasting “energy & getting stressful”. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

I hoped, that this year WTA/ATP/ITF, would stop this nonsense of mixing sport with politics.
Every player should have right to play under her/his country's flag. One cannot choose the country of one's birth.
Appointing "flag police" at the AO 2023 was not even childish... it was embarrassing and insane...
Wars are run by politicians not sportsmen/sportswomen.
Why during the invasion of Iraq, 20 year bombing of Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen and Pakistan not to mention the genocidal Vietnam war US, Australian, UK... athletes were allowed to compete under their national flag?
USA invaded Iraq in 2003 and yet their flag was still allowed at the World Cup 2006 in Germany and 2010 in South Africa despite the fact they were still in Iraq.
Either ban ALL flags of countries who go to war, or don't ban any of them.
Interestingly enough Israeli tennis players Mika Buchnik and Guy Sasson are allowed to play under the national flag in AO 2024 despite the policy of their government towards Palestinians in Gaza.
    ***
All wars are equal, but some wars are more equal than others.
    PS
Refusal to have a hand shake after the match by Yastrembska is contemptible.

Another example; are Israeli (Para-)olympians responsible for the policy of their government towards Palestinians?
All wars are equal, but some wars are more equal than others.

Ya know... I had hoped my comment section of this video would have comments about the actual match instead of mixing in politics...
Protip: If you don't want to become upset over how the AO handles this. Don't watch. If you don't want to see someone not shake hands, you know which matches are going to have that happen ahead of time based on who is playing. You have no excuses for being triggered by these occurrences. Choose your battles wisely. Compared to real problems in the world what you are griping about have no impact. You are asking for the AO and others to police someone's freedom to express themselves during a trying time. You want them to entertain you on your terms when you could easily not watch because it offends you. Who really has the problem here? Don't watch the parts that offend you; 'problem' solved.
Edit: I actually don't mind there being comments about politics in the comments section. Was just pointing out the hypocrisy.
