DAM untouchable legends, period!!!! LAKESIDE- it's all the way live!!!! I grew up jamming to these extraordinary brothers songs and these cats are still DOPE, as a matter of a fact this old school soulful masterpieces will always be insanely epic!!!!
Omg how have I not seen this! It sounds amazing so many years later. This is pure talent. This is one of my favorite songs. They still sound amazing! ❤❤❤❤
On this day in 1979 {January 6th} Lakeside performed "It's All The Way Live" on the nationally syndicated television program, 'Soul Train'... At the time "It's All The Way Live" was at position #24 on Billboard's Hot Soul Singles chart, five weeks later it would peak at #4 {for 3 weeks}... And on the same 'Soul Train' episode they also performed "Given In To Love", it would reach #73 later in 1979 on the Hot Soul Singles chart... Between 1978 and 1990 the Dayton, Ohio band had seventeen records on the Hot Soul Singles chart, five made the Top 10 with one reaching #1, "Fantastic Voyage", for two weeks in January of 1981... Besides the above "It's All The Way Live" and "Fantastic Voyage", their three other Top 10 records were a covered version of "I Want To Hold Your Hand" {#5 in 1982}, "Raid" {#8 in 1983}, and "Outrageous" {#7 in 1984}... R.I.P Don Cornelius {1936 - 2012}...
Those were mighty MIGHTY music history facts!!! Thank you! And thank you for taking us on this Fantastic Voyage all these years. 💜 I still want to hear Mark Wood live MYSELF!
Lakeside was one of those bands in the late 70-80" that I couldn't wait to see their album come out because you knew they was going to bring it. Truly UNSUNG.
This was before they broke into 2 groups. Now the lead singer Mark Wood has his version of Lakeside. All others in this video are in the Original Lakeside version.
Saw them cut up on Shalamar so hard, that for about 5 minutes into Shalamar's set, the audience just hollered "LAKESIDE, LAKESIDE, LAKESIDE!!!" Never seen that before, or since!
The 1st Time I Saw Lakeside Was In Norfolk Va. @1982? The Scope Arena. They Turned It OUT...They Have The Vocals Like The Temptations And 1 Of The Funkiest Bands Around...Mark Is InDeed The Captain...However Them Other Brothers Can BLOW 2. All They DO Is Play...The Bass? The Guitars? The Drums? Extremly Underrated...This Is The Funkiest Band I Ever Heard That Did Not That Have Any Horns...I 4 Give Them 4 That...Pull My String...RAID The FUNK LAKESIDE Is All The Way LIVE...
SWEET! This brings back some great, great memories. Last time I looked for this song on RUclips there was only one video and the sound was not too good. Thanks for posting! Who was that that introduced you? He looks familiar.
Sorry Midnight Star, Isley Brothers, EW&F,War,Ohio Players,One Way, Bar-Kays (Damn you guys were Funky),Commodores Brass Construction and Mass Production(Although "Three miles High" is a Funk classic to me) You all were tight Bands and truly the best BUT Lakeside knew how to REALLY GET FUNKY without trying to crossover.
No my brother that's bad info , Marvelous Marvin Craig bass, Stephen Shockley lead guitar, Mark Wood lead singer, and the only one missing was Otis Stokes the other guitar player

Anthony Barbary I don't think any of the groups you named, except The Commodores, tried to cross over.
@@stonedog23 EWF eventually did end up crossing over and started touring with the band Chicago
