Hi Joel. Thanks for that - was good and informative to listen to. I have a 1990 prostar 200 (outboard) and it's actually got quite a nice wake but is a handful to drive in the course. Of course, I wouldn't expect it to be as nice as a modern inboard but have you had any experience with people making adjustments to boats like these to get them tracking a little better? E.g. 5 bladed prop (rather than 3), trim tabs on the back. It still has cable steering - so I would expect that hydraulic would probably make quite a difference. Cheers, Trav.

Why do you say a Bimini is an enemy of good boat driving?

Personally, I feel like it lifts the boat up and makes it harder to keep in the center of the course. I’m driving a 97 ski Nautique, no more than 1/2 tank of gas. We just put 200lbs in the front and it tracks better. We need the Bimini or the steering wheel is too hot to touch!
