In all the hype around predictions and what might happen, there’s one crucial point that many seem to miss..this Australian team is aging. They’re not invincible.. they’ve shown they can crumble under pressure. Remember how confident they were, talking about a 4-0 whitewash after bowling India out for 36? And it wasn’t just them. We all thought New Zealand would win 3-0 against Sri Lanka after dominating their earlier matches. But that’s the beauty of cricket ..it’s unpredictable, and everything can change in an instant. If India can just put up a fight in the first Test, it might rattle the Australians, especially since they’ve already lost two matches at home recently. They can’t afford another defeat, so the pressure is on them just as much. Right now, the Indian team may look like the underdogs, but that can be a blessing in disguise. Sometimes, when no one expects you to win, it frees you up to play your best cricket. About the 2020 series? India were written off back then too, but they found a way to turn things around. This is another chance for them to dig deep, show determination, and who knows? That might just be the game-changer...
Great point. I believe India's batting will have to take the onus this time. Bowling is looking promising. But the batting will decide the fate of the series.

He was talking about keeping aussie bowlers in the field for long. Last two australia series, pujara was crucial in this role. We need somebody to play a similar kind of role
The team that will bat less horribly will win because i believe both the batting lineups are gonna struggle. Aus apart from smith doesnt have any world class batsman.
Totally agree with you Harsha sir. This Australian side looks so vulnerable particularly their batting with Smith, Labuschagne, Marsh not scoring that much in this WTC Cycle and a new opening batsman at the top. No doubt, Bowling is where they are on top. Will be an exciting Test series.
The issue with Australia is that they aren’t batting for extended periods. Only Usman Khawaja seems capable of occupying the crease and playing for time. Smith and Labuschagne have been disappointing; they’re neither keeping the scoreboard moving nor holding their ground for long. The middle order, featuring Head, Marsh, and Carey, remains inconsistent and unpredictable. Overall, the batting lineup looks as vulnerable as India’s. If Australia wants to win this series, they should prepare a proper green, seaming wicket (similar to the one used in the first Test against South Africa in 2022). Such conditions would bring bowlers like Starc, who thrives on assistance, into play. India arguably has fewer impactful batters than Australia, but things don’t look straightforward for the Aussies either. The team that bats big will have the upper hand, as bowling is likely to be less challenging in this series.
this is not going to happen this time because the pitches in australia will be a lot more favourable to balling so do not expect high scores this time from both sides
Our team definitely has the capability to do that, but the question is can they really execute it...... currently which batsmen of ours is giving you that confidence....for me none

Top order is the conundrum of both the teams owing to inclusion of greenhorns and veteran's recent form but i still give Aussies a little edge as they have a robust middle and trustworthy lower order as compared to ICT.Moreover, they will certainly have home advantage. For Indian team it is going to be a herculean task and it will be exciting to watch how Bumrah leverages his bowlers in the absence of Rohit Sharma.
Smith was second only to Bradman statistically in 2019, but like Kohli his form dipped since COVID break and hand -eye co ordination is slightly weakened due to age. But Labuchagne is very good on bouncy tracks and might score a lot of runs this series
Thanks for the analysis, Harsha. This is Jay, a great admirer of yours since I started watching cricket. India needs to tweak its approach to batting in Tests. If Rohit and Jaiswal can bat a full session in any test match in BGT, albeit they score 70-80 odd runs, India would be the frontrunner in winning the test. Because that is what will be carried forward with the rest of the team. Intent is not just hitting the ball out of the park. To wear out a bowling unit is considered intent too. All wise heads in the dressing room must rethink the batting strategy which I think they will do. We are not playing in Pune, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, or Mumbai to have the same batting strategy. Hi Harsha.. As usual great insights and discussion.. i have request.. I listen to the your commentary for your voice.. somehow these video as not adding up.. if you could change the the mic would be a great help.. 😊
Washington Sunder should be our first pick among spinners..This guy has lot of batting talent he can win you matches with bat overseas and if got proper backing he's gonna finish with batting average 40+ at the end of his career
I think they will bring in Webber later in the series, he is good all rounder and plays at 5. Aus XI == Head, Khwaja, Labushange, Smith/McSweeny, Webber/Marsh, Josh/ Alex, Cummins, Lyon/Zampa (later), Starc, Hazelwood/Boland..Top order has been a problem on both sides recently. But they have done well in the past so that's a gamble. This series is the battle of the bottom half players - all rounders plus keeper and a Hanger like Labushange or Pujara (unfortunately we don't have him yet for India-xi even though he is doing well in Ranji and did well in Australia last time; selectors need to show guts and mind game, bring him in atleast as a reserve; your other superstar IPL players are getting injured like nine-pins). Otherwise Safe to its all-rounders series. And India doesn't have many. hopefully Reddy, Sundar does that role of bowling all rounder to some extent; otherwise expectations are not much from Jadeja or Ashwin this time. They have already done so much for India cricket team before..they don't need to prove anything now. Sai sudarshan as opener and Padikkal as middle order should be in the reserve list as they did well.
The names of batsmen you mentioned in Australian team doesn’t make them look vulnerable. Indian’s biggest threat in batting would be Travis Head & Steve Smith. India has to get these out cheaply. Feel travis head has replaced warner in full. Head after 2023 world cup final has become a deadly threat for India and he’s a really good player.
Mr. Bhogle, if you think that the home team down under is going to fold like the Indian team then you are dead wrong. Team India were over confident and thought that they could walk over the New Zealand and instead got humiliated and destroyed. India should be lucky if they draw one game against the Aussies. Enough of being a Homer.
The first couple of tests are key. If Indian batsmen and bowlers can quickly get acclimated to the conditions and even go into the third test at 1-1, then India has a fighting chance. India will miss a batsmen like Pujara who tires out the bowlers. I don’t think the backup Aus pacers are anywhere the same quality as the main three. If they get exhausted over the course of the series, their effectiveness will go down. Happened in the last two Aus BGT and happened in The Ashes.
I genuinely think Australia get up in the big moments with this side. Over the last 18 months they’ve done it when it matters and I think possibly the last test summer didn’t get their juices flowing enough coz they’re weaker sides. I could be wrong but heady, Cummins, they keep standing up in times when it matters and I think they’ll do it again. I’d be shocked if India can get up in this series
This time, its looking bleak for India, also we do not have a player who can grind attacks and hold up one end like Pujara, Rahane. Hoping it can be a good series and we win against all odds like we did last time.
We r highly dependent on Rohit , jaiswal and India' s batting at lower down the order, that's why Sunder have a great chance of making his name in bgt. Other than these 3 I don't see other can change the game scenario. Ofcourse Pant is the game changer
Crazy how no one is talking about how good marsh has been for autralia in this wtc cycle 2nd highest run getter (6 less innings than Khwaja) for them with an average of 50 no number 6 is even close to these numbers, if he clicks then he can take away the game in one session alone.
U will se Lance Morris getting his debut in 3rd or 4th and tearing India apart natural heir to mitch starc, it is not tim Paine Australia it is pat Cummins Australia who is determined to settle the score and get to wtc final in style
The middle of both times will decide their fates. Green being out is a worry for Australia since he gave rest to their pace trio. Last time our middle order outscored their and we won. Lets see what happpens this time
As usual well analysed, Harsha. But the hype about "21st century's biggest cricketing rivalry" can fall on its face if Indians don't play long in this BGT. Where are those batsmen amongst flashy stroke-players......agree Aussies will surely miss Green. Amongst bowlers, what about Spencer Johnson......?
India would have done their best if they could stretch the matches into the 5th day for the entire series. If India can’t do this, expect all the matches to end in 3 days with Aust thrashing India.
Whenever you say how long India bats, I just have Pujara's image in my head. I don't see anyone consistently batting long in the Middle in recent time, due to the aggressive approach
Ashes could so easily have been 3-1 to Australia without Eng getting a brand new ball for no reason. Eng also had the best of the conditions almost the entire series.
you could not ask any questions to Rohit Sharma in post match presentation why they lost so badly on good pitches to NZ due to close association to bcci and ipl money; now you give your analysis on how lucky Australia were in England and discuss form of Smith and Labuschange as a big guru
Even if India play there best cricket i don't think they can win more than 2 matches. So they might be able to win the series but a direct final qualification without depending on other results is impossible.
To be Honest, This time australia will not give easily as like last time to us. They are fighters. They will fight till the end. Green is a great miss for them For us. Shami joined the squad, It is big plus for us. This is going to be difference in this series
But who is going to keep the Aussie bowlers in the field for a long time? I don’t see India batting 100 overs even once this series. We might score big, but we’re not gonna bat for long
Australia depends on smith, marnus, Head on batting. Good thing is smith move on to his best position.😅 debut will open with Khawaja. First test will decide which team win bgt trophy 🏆 😅

I think agree with you if India batted 100-120 over in an innings then pressure back to Aussie
I didn't know your were there on RUclips, welcome
Why Shreyash ayer is not part of the Indian Squad any specific reasons
Out of form in the Eng series and now out of favor with the BCCI.
Harsha the BEST ....Love from Pakistan 🇵🇰❤️
The WORST 🤮
u didnt mentioned the 12th player of AUS tht is world cup on the line
Australian side of early 2000 is almost
Unbeatable as Indian of 2014 to 22 excluding finals
😂😂😂.. India lost 2-1 to sa(twice) , 2-0 to nz, 4-1 to eng,
Harsha Bhogle is my favourite nerd of cricket
Head's numbers against India are pretty good.
Especially after his "re-born" in 2021-22 Ashes
@ Indian bowlers wouldn’t have forgotten his world cup final knock. He’s been in great form all the time.
@@sln7839 head 23 final has more of luck i think more than 10 balls was passed by the edge by very close margin and in test it's a different gravy
@@pradeepshah5444Good observation brother, in my view that day lot of luck with head
@@vinayr2753 yup luck is imp. factor if even one ball edged that day and marnus umpire call was in our favour then might bhi inda won that wc
Anything can happen. AUS has some advantages. If India can handle pressure well, it will be interesting
Ricky Ponting should be giving some headlines on these batters too..
Aus supporter here, we'll see how this series goes. Ind is always a tough side
Pls comeback here after 1 st test
The first couple of tests are key. If Indian batsmen and bowlers can quickly get acclimated to the conditions and even go into the third test at 1-1, then India has a fighting chance. India will miss a batsmen like Pujara who tires out the bowlers. I don’t think the backup Aus pacers are anywhere the same quality as the main three. If they get exhausted over the course of the series, their effectiveness will go down. Happened in the last two Aus BGT and happened in The Ashes.
Why on Warner is not there?
He is retired
Sounds like an Audible audiobook!
I really think Harsha it's India's batting vs
Australia's bowling in this series
sir can we expect some debuts in the first test match
I genuinely think Australia get up in the big moments with this side. Over the last 18 months they’ve done it when it matters and I think possibly the last test summer didn’t get their juices flowing enough coz they’re weaker sides. I could be wrong but heady, Cummins, they keep standing up in times when it matters and I think they’ll do it again.
I’d be shocked if India can get up in this series
What happened to Hanuma Vihari
This time, its looking bleak for India, also we do not have a player who can grind attacks and hold up one end like Pujara, Rahane. Hoping it can be a good series and we win against all odds like we did last time.
Love you Harsh
BREAKING NEWS: Australia two senior players injured:
1) Steve Bucknor
2) Sandpaper
We r highly dependent on Rohit , jaiswal and India' s batting at lower down the order, that's why Sunder have a great chance of making his name in bgt. Other than these 3 I don't see other can change the game scenario. Ofcourse Pant is the game changer
Crazy how no one is talking about how good marsh has been for autralia in this wtc cycle 2nd highest run getter (6 less innings than Khwaja) for them with an average of 50 no number 6 is even close to these numbers, if he clicks then he can take away the game in one session alone.
From 7:00
This is not Aussie side of 90-2010, very vulnerable side, It should be India's series unless they stuff up.
I agree India definitely the better team man for man 👍
India can't defeat new Zealand c team on their own how can they defeat full strength australia
@@Ratedsuperstar4497 that guy will go and play lol he knows them pretty well haha
India is just as vulnerable. And low on confidence after the mauling by NZ.
U will se Lance Morris getting his debut in 3rd or 4th and tearing India apart natural heir to mitch starc, it is not tim Paine Australia it is pat Cummins Australia who is determined to settle the score and get to wtc final in style
If West Indies can knock over Australia at the gabba with a brilliant spell from a newbie I don’t think we need to be too pessimistic
If NZ can knock out india with a white ball specialist santner, I don't think aus need to worry
The middle of both times will decide their fates. Green being out is a worry for Australia since he gave rest to their pace trio. Last time our middle order outscored their and we won. Lets see what happpens this time
Rightly said the biggest factor will be how long india can bat every innings cause aus got only 1 genuine spinner and rest pace and part timers
You missed Travis head their most important player in low scoring matches
As usual well analysed, Harsha. But the hype about "21st century's biggest cricketing rivalry" can fall on its face if Indians don't play long in this BGT. Where are those batsmen amongst flashy stroke-players......agree Aussies will surely miss Green. Amongst bowlers, what about Spencer Johnson......?
The biggest rivalry was,is and always will be the ashes be it any century
India would have done their best if they could stretch the matches into the 5th day for the entire series.
If India can’t do this, expect all the matches to end in 3 days with Aust thrashing India.
It’s bowlers v batsmen both sides will decide the outcome of the test series. It’s going to be a series dominated by the bowlers.
Yeah. Harsha fell for Piers Morgan I guess
you could not ask any questions to Rohit Sharma in post match presentation why they lost so badly on good pitches to NZ due to close association to bcci and ipl money; now you give your analysis on how lucky Australia were in England and discuss form of Smith and Labuschange as a big guru
Even if India play there best cricket i don't think they can win more than 2 matches.
So they might be able to win the series but a direct final qualification without depending on other results is impossible.
To be Honest, This time australia will not give easily as like last time to us. They are fighters. They will fight till the end. Green is a great miss for them
For us. Shami joined the squad, It is big plus for us. This is going to be difference in this series
Shami are you sure bro??? I'm just confirming is it right or not??
@@mohdanas2686nah don't listen to him shami is playing ranji

But who is going to keep the Aussie bowlers in the field for a long time? I don’t see India batting 100 overs even once this series. We might score big, but we’re not gonna bat for long
Talk about Sout African series
While Aussies are putting the mockeries on Indian Team in their media, good on Harsha to highlight their team isn’t great either on form👍👍
Hoping Kohli to went past 254* to register new carrer best...🇮🇳
King 👑🦁😡
All good but only thing i fear that the players have a history of finding form specially against India. That said, we are winning the series 4-1
Australia depends on smith, marnus, Head on batting. Good thing is smith move on to his best position.😅 debut will open with Khawaja.
First test will decide which team win bgt trophy 🏆 😅
BGT in Australia is a cheat over the year's as Australia provide us drop in pitches in places like Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, they said this stadium are multiple use that's why they are force to use drop in, now question is your compulsion is not be the suffering for visiting team, where as ACB has money to construct new stadiums in those places.🤫
@@rahulsinha623Australia have never tried to make stadiums solely for cricket except for domestic tournament. International cricket stadiums of Australia are also used for NFL league which generally has higher seat attendance in stadiums than cricket matches in Australia.
