David is a really admirable and outspoken person! The way he speaks, his vocabulary and gestures he seems like a really passionate and down to earth guy. Makes sense why a lot of people look up to him and want to collab with him. Such a great podcast 👏
One of the most eye-opening things I gained from this podcast, as a 32 year old who is pretty satisfied with life, wasn’t necessarily the topic or basis of this podcast episode, but seeing how cerebral and intellectual David Laid is as a 22 year old. When his brain and hands start going you can see the beautiful mind at work. Pretty amazing and mature for a young guy.
Hey Bradley it’s ok to cry man. Being vulnerable like that in front of another human shows a lot of courage. Thank you for being authentic and vulnerable
This podcast motivated me to meditate and question why I am putting so much time into creating fitness content and trying to make it my living but inspiring millions along the journey.
I dont why, but this episode gave me goosebumps, everything you both said was so damm relatable, from the missing father figure, to all the comments. And seeing dave like this, a guy who went from a regular teenager to what he is now, its just so fukin inspiring. And goddam hes mature asf, speaks so clearly, litreally sounds like a pre written speech.
I could honestly relate to both of your stories. My dad left before I was born. I had no father figure in the house. I was always skinny and would constantly get skinny shamed by others. I realized I needed to do something about it. I got involved with the fitness industry when I was 14 and people older than me led me to the right path in fitness and lifting and now I hope I can do the same for others in the future .
Hey Bradley I’m in the UK English 17 and I’ve grown up struggling with always feeling inferior to everyone around me my parents are together but alcohol plagues the both of them and I’ve always felt like I had nowhere to place my energy and doubt wether I’m better than anyone else, I started training last year after watching David change from someone who looked exactly like me a year ago and started to transform, and I’ve trained a year now since yesterday my respect for the both of you and the way you’ve changed my life is immense, and I’d love to come out and train at zoo with you or just even have a talk over the phone at some point with you or Dave just to thank you
fucking huge podcast lads. Serious some of the most relatable shit covered and its great to know that I'm not the only one. David I've heard of you but was so surprised of how articulate you are. You've got a new supporter mate.
I really connected with what you said about feeling guilty about your 8 year relationship. I just got out of one and although it sucks, you can’t blame yourself. Clearly that wasn’t the person you were meant to be with. When you meet someone you truly care about and want to make it last, the last thing you will do is hurt them, intentionally or unintentionally. When it’s real it’ll come, you don’t have to look for it.
10:22 "when I was in high school I was broke ,no money had no goal.."Okay but you lived in a house with pool ..You were broke personally like most teens are but your family was well off probably and you could have a proper diet ( which some people especially teens can't afford like 100 dollars per week for their diet)
This is the only RUclips podcast I have ever stayed the whole way through. Very relatable topics, especially regarding the dad part and searching for passion. Thank you guys so much.
great podcast, loved hearing you guys talk about missing father figures. shows how strong you guys are and how you want to be that for other ppl in the future. speaks volumes
Hey Bradley, I admire you and your story. You motivate me to do more! You remind me to keep going, reach my goals, and don't give up! I would love to workout with you. Let me know if your down, I'll come to your gym. That would be an awesome video lol
Worlds collide love both you guys! The two of you have inspired and motivated me so much over the years to build a much stronger body that allows me to excel in sports. Thank you so much for the life lessons and training techniques!
The comments are so eye opening...now I can see why to me so many dudes seem so angry and full of rage...a good majority of young men right now are missing a positive masculine figure in their life. And they project it on others. What a slippery slope it is to have a child. Also please if you are this person be mindful and DO NOT PROJECT IT ON OTHERS that is not SAFE.
This videos really opened my eyes in a lot of aspects because I started working out two years ago at 13 and you and David are probably the biggest people I look up to in the fitness industry and that motivate me In this video was just what I needed in my life🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
This was much needed ! Two different people with two different life’s and point of views . This is very helpful to reflect on my life and learn and progress as a person . Thanks guys ❤️👊🏼
Loved this podcast, i got into lifting just recently because of brad and david. I had the same problem that david had, i was really skinny and tall. But i noticed changes within a month and that kept me going. Its now been 6 months and hearing all this stuff really motivates me. Btw get Jesse James West on next pls!
I was a skinny kid. I agree with what he said abt his father. My dad passed away when I was a kid and it made me more insecure. This man inspired me to start lifting a year ago. Rn im a senior in high school.
The fact that people still have to hate in the comments and that didnt take something positive from this just baffles me, but then again people have their own things going on.This video has come to me at the perfect time in my life where im definitely going to take so much from this video. thank you both so very much. only 20 and have such a positive view about life rn. Time to take action 💪🏽
Long one.....Brad I thought you and David had beef for a while because he was so popular and yall had never done a video together. I’ve always thought David was one of the few good genuine people in the industry. I see a lot of him in you. I think y’all are very similar and you would be a great mentor to him. Make sure he doesn’t stray and stays on the right track. Much grace and love And David if you see this comment, proud of yo dude. That’s a big step to be so raw and real. Thank you Also Brad you are hitting a new level of wisdom and I’m glad you are able to look deeper within yourself and see you can change the industry by being real and helping people by exposing yourself
Ive been following you guys for many years now. I havent related to anything more this this talk right here. I started working out looking up to you guy's and this right here just connected that bridge even more. Ive always wanted to meet you guys. This was so dope watching, its truly awesome seeing other people went through the same thing with their parents and fitness journey. I live pretty close to LA, definitely a bucket list/life goal is meeting you guys. !:) I feel like you guys are so genuine/humble and really grounded in your thoughts:)
bro if u met dav pls tell him i said hey and u the reason why istart liftin tell him that bruh im so far livin in Morocco and its clear ican meet dav tell u inspire more ppl that u ever think
I will say, it’s a tough thing when you are doing something wrong like David was saying (compound movements/form) and you know a key factor in the lifting industry is to BE PATIENT. It’s tuff when you wait and wait and wait, but find out it was what you were doing was wrong in hopes of just taking time
Damn I can definitely relate to David me personally hoped on a routine workout to burn fat when I am a stick at 90 pounds but after the first month i got like 1/2 pound of muscle and I was like damn this is crazy and now I am 5 months in and I am so in love with fitness and I am growing up watching @anthonymantello @davidlaid @bradleymartyn and couple other and think man You bros are my inspiration so I make my own routine and it works thanks to you guys. I'm 16 atm so basically I am starting out like David with only a lower back injury during High jump practice.
Both you guys are huge inspirations in the fitness game and have personally helped us get started on our journey! Shoutout to Dave Laid putting south Jersey on the map! Dope ass podcast!! 🔥🔥
Tbh the best podcast I've ever listened to. Learnt a lot and really appreciate what you do man. Keep up the good work 💪🏼❤ I'm from SL and when I visit LA someday I would love to visit your gym and get a workout with you!
Amazing podcast Bradley. I love how you and David have come so far in life with the hardships you guys encounter. Learned a lot from this podcast physically and emotionally. 💯
This was honestly one of the best podcasts I’ve ever listened to...
