      Now I'm imagining them encountering the Zaibatsu from the doomed universe where Pat is in charge of the channel because Matt never came back from his hiatus. Their ship is full of broken glass, they're in the middle of their Silent Hill 4 playthrough, and Pat's just screaming, "DON'T MAKE ME GO OUTSIDE!" as he fires phasers at everyone else's channels.

    I'd argue that O'Brien's hatred of the cardassians makes a great deal sense when you take into account his backstory.
    And it's not even like his hatred is the violent kind either, he's not going to kill cardassians on sight or anything he's just not going to like them.

  • @LittleMountain90
    @LittleMountain90 6 лет назад +51

    It's almost like this episode would have been way better if they instead were, say, on mission to carry a throwaway Klingon VIP of some kind somewhere, only for *him* to get his spine crushed in an accident. At which point Worf is the one who has to make the tough decision of obeying his Starfleet orders of "deliver the VIP" or his Klingon honor when the dude asks him "Please kill me so I don't have to be seen like this by other Klingons and can die with my honor intact."
    Soapbox rant over.

    • @WoobooRidesAgain
      @WoobooRidesAgain 6 лет назад +9

      They _kind of_ did that in this one two-parter episode. I apologize for spoiling something that came out 20+ years ago, but here goes.
      It was the episode where the Enterprise is deciding who gets the big seat on the Klingon High Council after their big Klingon Kahuna (not the canon name but what I'm calling it) dies. Worf finds out that one of the guys, Duras, is totally in bed with the Romulans, which means he's likely going to undo the Klingon-Federation peace treaty, and probably also assassinated the previous head of the high council. The crux of the episodes were that he's having this really hard time trying to balance between being a Starfleet Officer and sticking to the Federation's role as a neutral mediator and being a loyal Klingon concerned for the future of his people.
      Then Duras, being the stupid shit that he is, kills Worf's ex, and then our favorite Klingon goes Death Wish on the asshole and shanks him like a hog on a spit, as Riker and the rest of the crew scream *"WORF YOU FUCKING IDIOT!"* in the background. It all works out in the end, though. Kinda.

      Janeway has three different personalities.
      One is the Iron Lady who don't give no fucks whose feet she steps on.
      Two is the kind and nurturing mother figure who can do no evil.
      Three is the consummate professional who tries to play by the book.
      And four is the Queen of Spiders as voiced by Chuck of SF Debris. The one who rules over Voyager with an iron fist and sows the seeds of strife among the crew mates and kills her enemies with her rape gorillas.

      bazorkin yeah a 20 year friendship and a 10 year business based on that friendship doesn't just disappear overnight, not even over a whole year, especially when it comes to men. On of my best friend was a guy i wanted to murder in high school. But in my experience when someone like that happens its usually because the women in their lives said something, and because the weapon to surpass metal gear (Pussy) is stronger than friendship they take the sides of the women. And thats not even being hateful towards anybody, i watch all 4 of them respectfully that's just something i experienced to much myself.

    Alexander shows up in only two episodes of DS9. Most notably S6E3 "Sons and Daughters." Alexander joins the Klingon Defense Force because Worf is such a shitty parent and Alexander feels like the only to get his father's respect is to be a true Klingon warrior. It's the best Alexander episode and a good episode overall IMO.
    Afterwards he shows up in S6E7 "You Are Cordially Invited," at Worf's fucked up torture bachelor party and then he is never seen again.
    Also Matt hating O'Brien literally made my jaw drop, how can anyone hate him?
