9:22 That’s the charging coil for wireless charging, which is a Signature Edition-only feature (along with the increased storage and automatic frontlight brightness adjustment).
i accidentally dropped my kindle paperwhite 11, and the edge is slightly open a millimeter, do you think it will affect the waterproofness? I'm afraid to take my kindle to the bathroom now
Probably no, I don't think it's the same level of water proof as phones. The 12th gen has similar structure as this one, no airtight sealing and no sealing for the button and usb port as shown in this video as well.
Would you be able to enlighten me on how the button works? Unluckily I dropped mine onto the corner of a metal stand exactly on the button. The little part inide seems to have concaved in. Would love to repair but dont know what the part is called or how i would replace. The plastic outside button is fine just the thing it presses inside is broken.
Very Nice Channel! Just a question do you know what material is made of the back of kindle? i'm pretty sure it is Polypropylene. and this would be better than aluminum for kindle usage? i do believe kindle made of aluminum and glass (oasis) it's not needed only for stethic purposes once that glass cover display are fragile and all e-ink displays has layers of glass beneath it.
About to try this so i can sand down the button, so it becomes inset. It's incredibly annoying that i can't rest it right-side up on a shelf, or hold it one hand from the bottom, without pressing that damn button.

Hi Bryan, thanks for sharing this video. I wonder if the battery in this Kindle PW5 is replaceable.

Is the screen easy to replace ? I have this model too, and unfortunately it got too much scratch.

I wonder if it’s possible to change the Flash Storage for a larger one?.

Does it have micro sd card under all this metal?
Thanks for your video. Is the outside of the screen covered with glass or plastic?
plastic.
With light turned off still the LEDS on damaging our eyes paperwhite sucks. Hiw can i turn off the LEDS?
leds turn off when brightness is set to 0 but its a feature only available for 10 gen and above I think

Stupid design...😂
Is it backlit or edge lit?
E-Ink panels are opaque and thus are never backlit.
I'd be too scared to even attempt such a thing. Just buy a new one.
