87 in a 25 zone? Sheesh. Yeah this dude needs to stay in prison and never get a chance to get behind a wheel ever again. It sucks because I’m sure he’s a nice guy otherwise
Regrettably because STILL in America the vast majority of Legislators from both major political parties View drunk driving as not as serious a crime like deliberate 1st degree murders.
@@youewe Uhhhmmm, lol. Im well aware of these legal distinctions. Im a RETIRED COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER. Eldest grandson a PROSECUTOR in West Michigan. Youre proving my point. Most citizens view drunk driving n even a resluting death a mere Accident?!!! As ii n drinking, driving drunk Isnt a CHOICE???!! Shame on you.
Finally a good judge that gave a proper sentence for DUI death. Anyone over the age of 10 years old fully knows you don't drive after drinking. Especially in today's world, choices; taxi, uber, call a friend, etc., but don't drive. Even if you pay $50 or more to get home, it's better than getting a DUI or having an accident.
why do they always wait until the second or third DUI accident from the driver? alcoholism is a disease and people need to understand that. my condolences to the family, she deserves to be here ❤
Im a retired county law enforcement officer. I think Drunk Drivers I loathed the most in my career. As they always pulled the "But it was an accident!" Or worse,,I still hear some in media claim "I actually drive fine or better after a few beers!" Or when high on pot. 🤬🤬🤬
I just caught my second, haven't drank in almost a year i hurt someone never want that life sentence, you gotta admit your guilt homie, pray to god man...rest in heaven
I’ve yet to see the BAC level mentioned. Typically if high, the lawyers like to make a statement such as “twice the legal limit”. Regardless, this individual knows he has a problem and should avoid driving even after drinking one beer, although he would be way under the legal limit for that example.
I know this post was about a year ago I was married to his uncle and me and his uncle have two children my children that is their cousin everybody that is made a comment on this page I want you to look yourself in the mirror and say that you were a perfect person all your life and you never did anything wrong no I have maybe it wasn't as bad as what he did but what I admire that he took the responsibility of what he did and when he's released he will be haunted with that for the rest of his life because I know that young man he will not give himself for it please think twice before you judge others maybe your stuff isn't as bad people still do wrong that is his or more think twice before judge
It is helpful to know the young man is taking responsibility, and admitted his fault. None of us are perfect, true. What would be better, do you suppose: jail time, or agree --- without jail time to pay a percentage of his income for the rest of his life, to the family who lost their daughter? What will get the message across to not drink and drive? Too many DWI repeat offenders in America.
I DONT feel sorry for him at all!!! He TOOK A LIFE lady!!! We are in an age where there is public transportation, trains and buses and cabs and uber!!!!!!!!!!! IF a person wants to drink alcohol, that is fine!! But USE these public transportation that we have!!! So NO!!! I WONT feel sorry for him!! I PRAY this man NEVER gets out of jail for what he did!!! He TOOK A LIFE lady!!! DONT you get it?
Just remember that we HAVE trains and buses and cabs and uber these days!! DONT drink and drive!!! A person who drinks SHOULD USE the public transportation that we HAVE today!!! I DONT feel sorry for ANY drunk driver out there!!!!!!!!
Life in prison would be a VERY light sentence for him.
He's not sorry that she died, he's only sorry cause he got caught!
How original.
I’m not sure how you judge his intent, but respect your ability to state your opinion on the topic.
Typical.

Prison? That's WAY too lenient of a punishment.
Unless his victim is coming back to life in 21 years, why is he eligible for parole at all?

@@alphaomega5909First degree murder is premeditated, unlawful, and intentional. I don’t see how this tragic event qualifies.

The amount of idiots driving drunk or sober driving at high speeds for no reason has got to stop.
@@youewe Starting your car while sloshed is the intent, and the premeditation.
You can tell when they have 0 empathy/ Accountability. Sociopath.
the victim didnt get 22 years of death
He’ll be back drunk driving in 22 years
😂😂😂
Unless something happens to him in prison
He already had a prior DUI conviction which means he knew about the Watson clause. That’s why he got maximum punishment.

He gets 21 years and another guy just got life without parole for his 6th DUI no injuries. Makes no sense.

Stupid laws... don't you think after the first DUI they should put his ass away before he kills someone?🤦
Once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic.
2nd time DUI? Yeah, 2nd time he got caught. Intent and knowing it was dangerous was his own doing. He did himself in. Judge had no choice.
Bye foo u went to far

WHICH BAR OVERSERVED HIM?!?!? THEY CAN’T JUST PROFIT AND HAVE NO RESPONSIBILITY!!!
Most states do have laws for whichever bar, restaurants thst overserve. But you must prove they knowingly did so.
Drugs and Alcohol need to be banshed from our world.
Alcohol is a drug, and it's definitely up there with one of the worst.
