Totally down with Aisha. It pissed me off that McVeigh got the easy way out. He should have been made to watch endless videos of his victims while he rotted in prison. (2022)
Let me clarify KRS position.. 1) He's saying that the government is not God and has no authority to be meeting out death to people. Furthermore, if a family member falls victim to a violent crime and you choose to violate the law by killing them, then deal with the crime accordingly. 2) From KRS perspective, American law enforcement is rooted in committing acts of violence against its citizens. From its early days of catching fugitive slaves, to removing Natives from their land, to Waco, Texas storming in like an occupying force and basically murdering people. How can you trust a government like that to decide who is worthy of the death penalty. The FBIs actions in Waco proved people like Tim McVeigh right and the nut jobs after him which is why there are more guns than people in this country now. People have no faith in the government.
True! Maher gets upset and rightfully so, when a whole group gets judged or regulated because of the bad example or behaviour of a small part of that group. ( When talking about alcohol or other drugs or sex) But when talking about rap, it's like suddenly there was only this misogynistic thug life glorifying rap being made. Even within the spectrum of rap that is about crime n drugs or objectifying women,, it sure ain't all of 'em glorifying it or advocating for it. And granted, the violence talk& mysoginy kinda diminished later on but it never went away completely and neither should it. Unless the rappers themselves want to drop it, but certainly not because of censorship. My guess is a lot more dumb kids get this notion that violence is normal or acceptable from other sources, that get conveniently 'overlooked' in this debate.
If you’re referring to KRS one, he was correcting Bill for misquoting him and taking the wrong message. He wasn’t arguing or making a point. His way of shutting Bill up. Bob Glass was on KRS one’s side the whole time.
I love when someone smashes Bill. He does the smug thing, then the angry thing, then he pouts.
7min in - "A government being incompetent IS a conspiracy", this is a few years before Katrina
19 years before Covid
KRS da Teacha..too much for Bill
KRS-ONE made the most sense.
Of course, he does!

krs one is too "awakened" for these people! krs is on another level of intelligence.
Half the panel seems to forget American history. No government is perfect.
Bob Glass and KRS One are on the same page

conspiracy is a dirty word, you can use to discredit anyone who might disagree with general consensus
Unfortunately people equate the word conspiracy with crazy.
I like how KRS One mentions Waco and how nobody is talking about it yet that was McVeighs entire reason for the OKC bombing.
KRS One schools Bill Marr and he reacts like a child.
And Bill always accused rap music of being about sex and guns and violence. KRS one, Tribe, De La Soul and PE were the least bit
True!

Wow KRS One!
knitpicking over bs doesnt matter
Yep. Just like when Lee Harvey was shot. A lot of people got security after his death.
Lethal injection asphixiates you and stops your heart. Cook em in the chair..
Saying No No No No No No No is not an argument the same goes the for saying Yeah No

14:56 Bills claim. Krs one corrected him.
yay chicago
why is krs listed as a fucking philosopher? got no books no nothing
KRS-One has written three books: "The Science of Rap" (1995), "Ruminations" (2003), "The Gospel of HipHop" (2009).
Bill Maher is wrong on almost every issue.
KRS 4 Prez! MA-KRS-A
Man krs is way over idealistic
Bills such a fake hater. Trying to make jokes off KRS One to get the crowd to laugh. So KRS has to keep saying “no no that’s not what I said”
