Thank you for the fantastic demo. I was wondering what size the acrylic fillable hearts are? I would like to purchse some but want to make sure to get the correct size. Thank you!
Hi Jamie! I really like this project. I made one a few months ago and I placed it on my healing alter. I was wondering if you have any suggestions for small clay letter stamps for the words? Thank you!
I love your lettering stamps, do you have any advice on what sizes to get for the larger hearts, I really love your heart rattles. You have them glazed really nice are you using stains, or are is that the color of the clay showing?
Thanks for watching. I use iron oxide stains so can fire them face down. I love my letter set which is no longer in production. I think it's just experimentation to see what works best for you.
Sometimes I stilt, sometimes not. I like to wipe away the glaze on one side so it's just in the crevices. I will then make sure the point of the stilt is on the raw clay.
One side of the heart has an added slab portion (usually with a word) that is just stained and not glazed. That is what rests on the shelf. Occasionally I use stilts if I want to fully glaze each side.
Great use of the credit card Wow!! Thankyou for the top!

Hi Jamie I am just re-watching your demo on hearts, is it possible to demo making the mold for the heart. Love your videos.
Thanks for watching! I will consider doing one.

I'm sorry, I don't have the exact sizes. My craft supply shop had small (about 2 inches) and medium (about 3.5 to 4 inches).

I found a plastic small cursive set at Michael's. They still sell it. The brand escapes me though

@@jamiemeador2967 thank you fir your kind reply!
Put the balls in paper straws, crimp straw in between. Circle straw with beads inside. Straws burn in kiln, beads are all loose.
Where do you get the acrylic hearts?
I ordered mine from Amazon. I've found individual ones at the big box craft stores. Just Google "acrylic heart ornament".
@@jamiemeador2967 I’ll check out Amazon. Thanks.
This video is great...thank you. May I ask how you stilt the hearts so they don't make marks in the glaze?
Sometimes I stilt, sometimes not. I like to wipe away the glaze on one side so it's just in the crevices. I will then make sure the point of the stilt is on the raw clay.

Do you use clay slurry on air dry clay
@@hildadorn9796 I've never used air dry clay
Any videos on glazing these?
Not yet - the next time I make a batch I'll record the glazing. I either leave a spot raw on one side or use stilts.
Are the little balls already fired or raw bone-dry clay?
Beverley Reed They are dried green ware balls
So the clay doesn't stick to the acrylic heart?
Yes, you'll need to use a release agent or line with plastic. I use cooking spray or wd40.
@@jamiemeador2967 Thank you. I thought that would be the case. LOVE your videos by the way!
How can you glaze without them sticking to the shelf. 😀
One side of the heart has an added slab portion (usually with a word) that is just stained and not glazed. That is what rests on the shelf. Occasionally I use stilts if I want to fully glaze each side.
