You’re right on the diamond medal needing to “pop” more. It looks way too similar to the silver medal
I like the detail of having a different reload for if the gun is empty or still has one in the chamber. It's a thing you don't see in the other guns (apart from the M1), and it's nice to see that added detail.
The Mosin Nagant has that too ^^
Reloads ammo one by one if mag is not empty, uses a clip if mag completely empty, it's a nice touch :)
I’m glad they are adding ARs as I think it will be the gateway to adding more weapons and animals that are more controversial. My state allows hunting with ARs without restriction and I like to see them acknowledge that a lot of people hunt with them.
I think an ak74 variant would be very interesting. 5.45 is similar to .223, but it's somewhat different enough to be interesting.

They need to add realistic gore more bullets better animal render and fucking animals that actually dieeee
And more fucking guns they don't have shit no inlines or near the variety of hunting sim 2
I thought it’s neat they stuck with 5 road (hunting compliant in many states) instead of the 30 round “standard” capacity magazine

I wish the AR had a 10 round capacity, I feel like it would be a lot more viable. Or at least the .22
Most likely a balancing decision. And since the devs are Swedish, 5 seemed to be a good number as its regulated here that your magazine max capacity must be 5.
As Flinter said at 5:30, this is basically why they decided on 5 rounds.

If you read the review section on Steam the devs have already responded with possible updates fixing this in the future. We'll see.

So glad they added ARs ive been waiting for this since the game came out ive Hunted IRL multiple times with them and they really are effective
I hope they steadily update and get new content out for this game. I would love to see an archery update along with tree stands. I think they should also implement game trails and have the ability to lay bait or feeders to get deer coming to a specific location much like in real life. Hanging a drip bag and watching over a feeder in a tree stand with a bow is pretty realistic.

They're great for exploring. The .308 is a very versatile round in this game and the AR works just fine up to around 370yds. You can run around with the 22 hornet, .223 AR, .308 and you're good to shoot pretty much anything you see. If you're gonna use the AR's on a dedicated hunt, it's best for herd animals. Like Roosevelt Elk, the .308 is perfect for them. Use it with a low powered scope so you can get more rounds out with less eradic scope movement. I love using the .223 AR on Coyote and Fox because they're very quick animals. You tap them once anywhere while they're mid sprint. Then they're forced to stop for a moment and while they're recovering, you take a lung.
Flinter I am an idaho resident and hunt elk,deer every year. That shot on the melanistic red deer was a risky shot in real life
Been playing this game a couple of years now, and I'm convinced the rifle performance on the shooting range is not the same as what you get out in the field. I think there's another hidden accuracy stat going on here.
My only things is why make the 308 stronger than the 30-06? When the 30-06 is clearly larger than the 308. I get it both 30 cal but the 30-06 definitely has more powder capacity. Just makes the realism of the game kinda seem less right.

They can just say something like “oh bullet grains are different” which could make the .308 have more energy in real life. Just they mainly did it to give it an advantage over the M1 besides just recoil so it gives people who already own the M1 pack a reason to go buy another weapon pack. As a lot of people probs wouldn’t buy it just for the lower recoil.
Agreed. I get this is a game. But it’s at least trying to be somewhat of a simulation. But the various weapons and their respective power seem to be all over the place

@@Christophhanderson 5 round mags make sense as a lot of the guns are built around US regulations, and if you want a semi auto you need to cap the mags at 5 for most game aside from hogs

Instead of that orange that they used to have on the medals, they should do a bit of yellow or orange on gold, and a little light blue on the diamonds. Nothing over the top, but at least a little eye catching. It’s good looking as far as being more minimalist, but it’s somewhat drab on the colors.

Do you know if it's a new revolver, or a new skin for a previous revolver?

for the AR-15s, does anyone think there seems to be a bit of an extreme muzzle climb?
Maybe the .308 is realistic, though if your skilled/big its probably a bit over dramatic. The .223 is way too high

@@deathskrieg5525 ive shot an ar10 in 6.5 creedmoor which is somewhat comparable to a .308 and it wasn’t a mule at all, and also an ar15 in .50 beowulf that had more kick than the ar10 6.5 I shot. But then again, imagine the ability to deck 5 animals back to back with minimal recoil, I assume that was the reasoning

I wish they would add something that shows what gun you have equipped.
I just bought the ar dlc last night and they are such good rifles and making follow up shots is so easy now. Can make the shot and the animal gets stunned then take a second shot and it will just drop right where it stood
The diamond medal should have some sort of sparkle or shimmer to it! It should also be more platinum colored, so it's more visually distinct from the silver! I like the design of the medal, but the color is just to close to the silver medal!
Took a moose from 283m with one shot from the 308, these new weapons are really goos and they are all i really carry now.

I was initially planning on skipping this dlc, i have next to no interest in using ARs to hunt. But they seem too good to not use for grinding, so I guess I'll get it to speed that up and save my bolt actions for hunts i'm actually engaged in.
Exactly how I felt when I got it after telling my friends you don’t need an AR to hunt lol.
Love the guns, I just wish there were black skins for the 308 and 22 as well
I just want a hardcore mode with realistic hunting elements and better animal behaviors. Something that rewards skilled players and punishes unskilled players. The call of duty shooting gallery is great and all, but I think a lot of the veteran players are ready for more of a challenge then shooting everything that moves.
Turn everything off and use the traditional bow. All tracks, anything that highlights even the hud
@@bairyhalls00 but tracks are not indents in ground but holograms, so turning them off would completely eliminate tracks instead of them being harder to spot

its been a little while since I played so my memory is a bit fuzzy, but I remember turning it off and being able to track. its a lot harder though without the extra help.
@@r4yker442 They're intents in the ground. The holograms are the tracker aspect, which if you turn it off disapear.
I like the new medals for the ratings, but I agree the diamond needs a bit more. I personally think ALL the medals could do with a little more shine to make them stand out, the gold looks closer to bronze/copper coloured to me, and the diamond could do with maybe a little glass effect? I like where they're going but for me they just need a little more touching up
And this is why I use a .308 ar. I'm not shooting more then two deer at a time 3 at most cause that's a lot of work to dress em out and load em in the truck. Not to mention processing them at home. But the .308 drops whitetails in their footprints
You should go to Mississippi on the stream to test the new .223 on the raccoons. They should have been changed to class 2 with the update.
I mainly carry all 3 AR's and the 300 mag for big game. The 22LR AR is so fun for picking off multiple rabbits or ducks.=
The 223 is not legal for pronghorn in CO, where SRP is located. But I'm petty sure it would work pretty well. It's fair that they are class 4
The only reason I’m getting this dlc is for the .308. I don’t like how it’s not realistic compared to the .270 and 30-06 but I can deal with it for sure. Still though they make them with 5 round mags to be realistic and then make the gun way overpowered
You really need to hunt hogs with the night vision on the 308

I can't speak for the ARs, not interested in them, but the M1 will drop pronghorn that quickly. Don't ask how I know, lost many need zones.

Me personally I like the 223 rifle but I wish it could look like the other rifles and for the other rifles to have different colors/patterns still really cool though

Scarecrow said that the .22 trick is no longer a thing. They get spooked. He also said that animals don’t lift their head while they drink. This is why it took so long for the melanistic to lift
I wish that they make it so that the 6.5 can take animals from 3-7 instead of 4-8

I had to stop playing this game after I lost my Dad. All year we would talk about the next hunting season It's been just over 2 years now I think it's time to redownload and start stalkin around. I Recently started using the .308, its got lots of recoil but its my new favorite.
I’m confused why they would change how long they have their head down with drinking. Animals in real life constantly lift their head to check their surroundings as they drink. What’s the point of drink zones if they are just feed zones. Animals keep their head down when they eat because it’s often in the cover of bush where they feel safest

I think you’re right about the banking in the past they really did like drink for like five seconds and then with their head back up but now it’s it’s like 30 seconds from her head to cut my father drinking
The new medals ARe pretty cool, only thing is the diamond one does in a little more to it,other than that they ARe awesome! Especially the GO medal
I think if they made the diamond blue or even the whole medal a blueish instead of the silver color they got now would look better and stand out
Now that AR”s have next to no recoil maybe EW will decrease the recoil on all the bolt action rifles, I hope they take a look at bolt actions.
That's the .223 AR with almost no recoil, which is true to real life, as is the .30-06 recoil

I need help, for some reason my maps keep the animals at the center of the map? I wonder around the map for hours then towards the middle of the map I get a frame drop & find easily 50-100 animals.

The .308 penetration is much greater than the 30-06 /it can shoot through a bone and still hit and penetrate the lungs sometimes a double lung

Quite frankly, I'm getting tired of having to track moose, and wasting time after having shot them with the AR-15 308
I'm carry one of each calibre. Light and mostly effective. But not enough damage caused in lung hits. Usually a single lung.
It stops them but only after a couple of 100 yds tracking.

Dropshots from double vital... is that a new change, I've hit numerous double vitals that didn't dropshot, or are the Zarza just that broke in terms of penetration + expansion
