3 minutes in so far and yea i have noticed a lot of questions about weapon packs too, i think that probably means more new players are getting into the game! Also i agree with bows not being rewarding enough, i think if they gave more money, gave less hunting pressure, or have a spook range similar to classic they would be more useful.
The basic compound can take anything in game, basic arrows cover 2 to 7 classes, a perk can make you recicle arrows... Does not make more money, but saves a ton. And I find the spook range about right to be fair, could agree with the hunting pressure tho, you're not firing a gun at the spot.
If you have the bloodhound dlc your dog alerts you if your about to spook a animal with a bark or near and you can upgrade it at 15 or 20 to make the spook range longer something like that
I just use .300 all the time because integrity on big game is unrealistic and ruins immersion, lile ok yeah sure it makes sense in the way of using a 30-06 on a red fox or rabbit but .300 is just fine to use on caribou ane deer IRL
I guess I'm weird in that I actually bought weapon pack 3 specifically for the air rifle. Here's why: starting out, getting money and XP is the most important thing. With the air rifle, you can wipe out an entire herd easily because it's so quiet animals won't spook. It does surprising well with whitetail, even up to 150 yds out. It's easy to level up when you can harvest 8 animals at a time.
But it states, '50m range' for the bullets?!? ...I had a try on the goats, in the Te Ra...something-map ...and they keeps on spooking 1 splitsecond after first shot, so i left it right there for same reason?!
Can confirm the air rife is a herd killer! The range on it is 100m to 50m to 25m. I've taken down 7 dear they all just watched themselves drop one by one.
@@jordanprice7542 i guess they wont hear it that much, if your taking them on at 100m ...but I was like ..wtf ..when they all spooked at 50m?!(what's the point then?!) Also i'm confused about the stated bullet range?? Why would they state 50m ..if they also work at 100m??
@@SirAser.F__k.you.Google 50m is the effective range, past that the bullet starts to lose stopping power (needed for penetration through bone or to hit the heart through the lung)
I think the .22 pistol is very useful to get your pistol points up, as you can get several geese per flock. Plus it can take the marksman red dot from the 470NE rifle, which is way better than the pistol reflex sight
Actually kind of surprised you dont like the muzzleloader that much its my main gun, i loved the 30-06 until I used it the stats on the ammo just aren’t fair to any other 4-8 and i love it lol
Everyone knows smokeless powder is just a passing fade. The muzzle loader is my favorite gun in the game I'm not the best shot so I tend to get close anyway so the drop is just not a problem.
I did some testing on the range and i found that for me the 30-06 has faster follow up shots on point because of the smaller recoil, even if the M1 reloads much faster.
The 30-06 is better though and trust me it’s also better than the 7mm because I tried to knock down a level three Rocky Mountain elk and it didn’t drop right away like a 30-06 would do
I hope we get a .308 or .416 for weapons and an Australian map with fallow, rusa, feral hog, feral goat, kangaroo and another African map with rhino , zebra, elephant, sable, waterbuck, hyena
I wanted one weapon pack and got weapon pack 3, because of the bolt action eckers 30-06 and and the .22 pistol, I would absolutely recommend it if you only want one weapon pack because you can take those class 1 animals using the .22, and the eckers 30-06 is my new favourite gun in the game because the way it sounds and it’s strength!
When I started out I was having trouble getting kills with the M1 on moose so I started using the muzzle loader and only stopped because the smoke makes it hard to see where they run
I'm biased for sure but my bread and butter is the mosin carbine, it kills everything I come across, and it is the best deer/hog killer for even 300+ ranges. I usually bring the drelling with me as a side arm, the mosin tears up rabbit so the 16 gauge birdshot is useful and when I come up on large game that I don't want to bother chasing because soft point ammo from the mosin the drillings 9.3mm with a polymer tip always makes it to the heart of any larger animal. I used the .22 pistol, couldn't find much use without a scope, same with the .357, I found the colt .45 was at least handy for shooting coyote with the long colt and rabbits with the bird shot, but the drilling does both better.
My loadout is Class 1: .22 Class 2: .243 Class 3: Mosin Class 4: M1 Class 5: M1 Class 6: M1 Class 7: M1 or 7mm depending on range Class 8: 7mm Class 9: .470 Zenith I don’t have .303 so I can’t really rank it but it would probably trade the 7mm
Ya I got the gun but here is my new list 1: .22 2: .243 3: Mosin 4: M1 5: .303 6: .303 7: .300 8: .300 9: .300 I still don’t think .303 is better than M1 at class 4 because M1 shoots so quickly that it is easy to grind class 4 species like whitetail I can pull like 3 from a herd with the M1. With the .303 I would be lucky to get 2

I normally carry the 7mm for bison, 6.5 mm for most everything else under bison because of the max effective range of 218 yds, and a 10 gauge shotgun for close fire support. Personally, I prefer a 12 gauge shotgun pump action. However, I am still working on skills. The 7mm for bison, I did not know they charge at you. My 6.5 poly tip will not break its skull and I got killed once. I did that again with the 7mm, np. It dropped. 6.5 is my go-to weapon of choice for the 218 yds effective range. I don't know how many times I try to get close to the animal, they seem to know I am here even when under a brush. Then again, I am still working on skills. So, I long-range it. If an animal can smell me at 200 yards away. yea, I think I need a shower... lol

So I got this game on sale a few days ago and all the DLCs are on sale as well. If I get all 4 weapon DLCs, is there any point in me spending my in-game currency on the base game weapons, or do the DLC weapons outshine all of them?
I like the night vision one and the drilling gun
Hey man so i restarted since i switch from xbox to pc and I'm in a dilemma. Do you think as a beginner would it be alright to use dlc weapons at the start
