On February 6, 1990, DJ Verrett was arrested on drug charges at the age of 19 and sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment in some of America's most notorious federal prisons. From walking prison yards - to walking Red Carpets events - DJ has appeared on the Hit FX series Son's of Anarchy to NCIS-LA with LL Cool J, and even Disney's Wizards of Waverly starring Selena Gomez.
DJ just released his first EP titled Make It Jump, available on iTunes. You can also find DJ's story in the New York Times best seller Moments of Clarity by Christopher Kennedy Lawford, published by Harper Collins Inc. DJ Verrett is currently working as a Clinical Supervisor in a detention facility, preparing the inmates to re-enter the community.

On some real shit I stopped watching Herc a while back and literally stopped watching Prison videos in general because it started to get filled with a lot of clout chasers and big talkers but Ghost is the REALNESS. I'm seriously feeling this man.

Don't think that just because you follow the rules means it can't happen. They change the rules all the time.
If the whole population just started being on our best behavior, no murders no assaults or robberies. They're not gonna just back off and we all live in harmony. They're just going to move the goalpost and get strict about more petty shit, less and less privacy until all of us are controlable.
People think of government control/ oppression just as them in jackboots chaining all of us up.. but why do all that when they already got us doing what they want? We know for a fact that they spy on us through phones and shit...but we never do anything.
The only time we do anything is in a george Floyd situation.. but what good did that do? Made some noise,the only people that got hurt is the average people.
We have all these big problems and we don't do shit. They know that. They also know that you will buy the next IPhone, do the next viral challenge,etc. Law of large numbers. But everyone is so intent on playing this same game that we don't see that it isn't a game.
And to clarify. This isn't some conspiracy shit, I'm not a conspiracy guy, I don't go on reddit or watch conspiracy videos.
Also I'm not saying that this is exactly what's happening or proof or anything. I'm just saying it's more than possible and feasible.
Also, I'm not anti police or anti government. I'm a realist. We do need law and law enforcement and we do need government (ik a lot of you say you don't but then rely on the government for ALL of your needs like they're your daddy)
I just want to live in a balanced world where people are judged on merit and all of us have true freedom.
That outnumbered riot story gives me chills. As a white dude, that's in my top 5 worst fears right there. But Ghost's tactical thinking, understanding that an exit must be available before numbers are even slimmer, or before everyone is fatigued probably saved some lives that day. Wisdom can't be taught, and learning warfare is the most expensive tuition in the world.

Dude, I was a lucky kid man doing the shit. Never spent a day in jail. Spent 30 days in rehab as a plea for weed shit mainly. I could never think of going and doing this crap. I joined the Army to simply get the hell out. Some say that's its own kind of prison. Did a tour in Iraq. I'd do that any damn day of the week over being in a shoe box with some others man. Listening to you guys is a real gift.

From all these videos you've been putting up, I can say without a doubt in my mind that the first mistake a new prisoner makes is to think that the guards are there to protect him. They don't care about what goes on in the jungle, they're just there for the paycheck.
I think they do there job to the best of there ability honest the officers in UK nearly 2 decades incarcerated
I really enjoy your channel, Herc. I've never been to jail or prison but I've treated a lot of prisoners, medically. I've been a paramedic with a fire department for 28 years. Some of the worst trauma I've seen has been from prison. It's a crying shame what people will do to each other. Thanks again for your effort.

They won't show that just like they wont talk about guards beating the shit out of inmates. Its illegal as fuck but no way to prove it happens unless they admit it. Im sure by the book they have to let you go to the bathroom every couple hours or something but whos going to make them?

Fresh Out. Do you have counseling for some of these brothers? I know that look in Ghost face. He isn't telling you something he remembers. His whole being goes back to that point and time.
I was actually looking through the comments to see if anyone else saw something in his face that wasn’t right. Glad I wasn’t the only one. But I do agree as well that there should be counseling for them regardless of being on camera or not. :)
