  • Today, I take you on a tour of this huge vintage dollhouse I picked up from Facebook Marketplace. You can see more pictures here minimodelworld...
The dollhouse cost £12, plus £10 to get it home in a taxi and I don't plan to spend any more money on it. I have plenty of supplies from previous projects that I'm going to use to transform this house.
This vintage dollhouse is from the 1960s and is scratch built, it's also on wheels which is useful as it's very heavy!
Don't forget to subscribe for future videos and tutorials on how I redecorate this house!

Hey, your story is sort of like mine. Bought an old dollhouse something like yours, its huge and it wouldn't fit into my SUV. I needed my son in law to come with his truck to bring it home. It's condition was similar to yours! I will have fun redecorating it. Will continue to watch your progress! Thanks for this video.

Aww thank you for your comment :-) I've actually tried to sell it since getting it as it's just so big, but struggling to sell so I think that's a sign to keep going with it! Good luck with your renovation!

@@minimodelworld8340 No! Don't sell it! Have fun renovating it! I will have fun with mine. I call it
"The Mansion". I look forward to seeing how you're renovating yours.

Never seen one like that design before! Do you think it's home made? Maybe keeping it in the '70's style maybe a selling point? Picked up my dollshouse from FB marketplace too, didnt realise it would be so heavy, my chap was suffering from a slipped disc so struggled on my own, used my shopping trolley's wheels without the bag in the end😂

Wow...that fireplace was way too small for that room & the windows are wayyy to huge....but I love all the space you have for a living room!!!

Yep the scale was completely off! I ended up giving the dollhouse away, it was so big it was impossible to work on!

Brilliant. I will be following your progress. Did it have a roof btw?

No roof, and I'm not sure if I could add one as think it would make the upstairs too difficult to access 🤔 It's the biggest and strangest dollhouse I've ever seen so think it'll be a challenge! Looking forward to it though!

Oh wow, that is huge and unusual as it's not sort of one dimensional where you access all the rooms from the back or front. Seems like each room is larger than average dollhouse size. I wonder if it was built as a model of someone's real home? You're probably going to have to spend some money, even if it's Glue or fabric. There are a lot of miniature channels with free tutorials though, like Joanne's miniatures, Bentley House Minis, Laurie Heisler, Where The Gnomes Live, even the model railroaders and dungeon and dragons players make terrain pieces and landscaping and weather buildings. Not familiar with your channel, do you already have furniture? Maybe you could start a miniature group that meets at your place and they can all help work in it?

Well I lied, looked at your channel and I've watched a few of your videos already but wasn't subscribed before. This house is missing doors and windows, but given the way that it's built, leaving the giant window openings empty would provide easier access for hands to reach in and move furniture and so on. Not standard size windows so you'd have to make your own.
