The thing that really messed people up for years when it was first released is how interactive all the knobs are; few other pedals were like that.Additionally, pickup output, including the guitar volume, and room temperature, highly impact performance.People would try putting it behind a buffered tuner or wah, or hit it full on with hot humbuckers, and wonder why all it did was squeal , - in addition, it is highly power sensitive, - so no daisy chains, and much better with the old school camera batteries. Classic early boutique, and the Fat version is even better.
Dang. These pedals are expensive.... Kinda ridiculous and when you realize the cost of the actual components inside, it's almost a slap in the face. Sure. The time spent soldering and wiring is worth something... But not 300 plus dollars. Example: I built a nearly exact clone of this circuit at home and it cost me less than 20 dollars in components including the metal box enclosure. And for the record this pedal will not "cover just about any fuzz tone you would need" or whatever the video claims.
Your argument is like a 5 year old's. First of all, who are you to set the "right" price of something? Second, who goes around assuming something should cost the value of its parts?? How much would a painting cost then? like, say, a Picasso? like 35 bucks? And finally, you got it cheaper because you clone it... so yeah, you stole Zvex's design. Usually, stealing the thing is cheaper than buying the thing.
@@PuertoSerial also, I didn't get anything cheaper. I actually own the Zvex version and the DemonFX clone. They both sound exactly the same. But I didn't STEAL anything. Lol Before you go spouting off in reply to a comment, maybe take a less asshole like way of approaching your initial reply? You can catch a lot more flies with sugar than you will with vinegar buddy. And one last thing.
@davidwagner85 So he shouldn’t get paid for actually putting in the time and effort to create this pedal? What about operating the business? Marketing? Packaging? Paying employees and providing benefits? Etc, etc. If you think that isn’t worth anything, I’m sure you could easily open your own business and create and sell lots of cool, inexpensive pedals.
that 1 humbucket jazzmaster is incredible also that intro is so freaking gooood
Those are Novak WRHBs. I put one in my TVL Jazzy & it RULES.
Insanely good intro track
Such a sick take on the Fuzz Factory!

great job!
Amazing man👊
Mine doesn’t squeal. My old one squealed nicely but my new 25th anniversary one sucks.
