RIP Jeff Beck. I saw you in Toronto, when you were on tour with Santana, and I ... we did not clap thunderously because you were so good that after each song we had to pause, and re-evaluate. We did not want to fill the space you had just left with 'noise,' it was that good. But that's what you do, so after a half second, we did, looking around at each other slack jawed in wonder. Will never forget that. Nor you. RIP.
I saw him in Tulsa a few years back, and when he hit the first note of "Because..." I was surrounded by steelworkers and truckers "shhhshing" each other and crying, tears rolling down their grizzled cheeks. And mine. You could hear a pin drop.
Lovely comment… Jeff was and always will be in n my heart. First place on my list of magnificence… Missing him so much 💙🤍💔🕊🕊 🎸 REST WELL,.. Darling Honey BritBee 😔
Jussi, oh yes, DEFINITELY! What an amazing gem I've 💎 never heard bef. Ritchie Blackmore said, (and btw, he rarely compliments others) said 🙄 Jeff just had more notes on his guitar 🎸 😉
What an incredible combination....voice and the accords of Jeff Beck guitar....this maestro Jeff Beck is a masterpiece in classics and in any genre he played in his career. What a gifted musician he always will be in the history of music.
Great to see this one, love the combination of Seal and JB doing one of Dylan’s masterpieces. JB seems to be thoroughly enjoying it. We will never see (or hear) another guitar player like him. I was blessed to see him a dozen or so times over his career, he just kept getting better and better as he got older. He never compromised doing what he did 100% his way. RIP JB!
A similar good Gitarrist was "stevie ray vaughn" - die a Hendrix Cover too...and Hendrix and Erich Clapton almost stepped into the helicopter - in which stecke ray vaughn died
I'm gonna have to call bull on the music sheets just being for the video. This song is written by Bob Dylan. There's nothing to be concerned about getting it right. Seal & Beck did a great job.
Fabulous. Jeff seems to be enjoying himself on another guitar masterclass. Seal has a brilliant voice. I've massively enjoyed this!!!!! An album and tour from these two? If only! Please! 🦁🦁
One of my most favorite versions of this song besides Bob Dylan's version! I have had this cd for years and I still make sure I play this song when I pull it out. Yes, I said a CD, I am old. Thank you for posting!!
The farther down in the youtube search results the baddrass the covers get...or is it the beer? Damn, this version kicks royal ass..props to the soud crew, the uploader, the performers...and above all, the great Bob Dylan.
Seal does an incredible job with this song. A mixture of irony, scorn, and pity all playing off of each other. A song both sung and spoken - hard to do. And Jeff Beck reminds us what Rod Stewart once said, that he was the only guitarist who could listen to a singer and play off of them and still sound unmistakably like themselves.
Incredible cover of this song...BUT JEFF IS AN "ET" with his guitar ! Since the Yardbirds in 1965 he's my absolute hero on guitar ! Thanks Jeff for the sound & the feeling !
My God this is such an amazing song! And this is a wonderful version. All American songs are about upward mobility. About being poor, and then being a big success. It takes a genius and a Nobel laureate to write the one CLASSIC song about what it's like to start out as a hot shot, and then wind up in the gutter. Thanks God for Dylan and his lunatic typewriter.
I also noticed that Jeff Beck has been involved in alot of music projects in the last years. Jeff is such a great guitarist and my favorite. He is such a professional still after all these years.
57 dislikes - probably fools? Great arrangement and a new fresh sound, stunning vocals from Seal and the godfather of guitar. What else more are you exspecting, guys?
It makes me Manically Depressed that Seal wasn't around when Rod Stewart went off. If Jeff ever wanted a vocalist, Seal sure fits like a glove. Dam' right they should tour.
Two great performers playing Dylan...what more can you want? I'm still on a high from seeing Jeff at the Sydney Opera House two days ago!( No means to donate online amnesty but promise too next chance I get)
This song is so deep! I know Dylan wrote it, but it wasn't until I heard the Hendrix version that I really paid close attention to the words. Songs like this don't exist anymore.
beautiful hard voice. It's clear: the whole versions are painfull; but, here it is, a good singer with a good partner. How do we feel now?. Certeanly, all right.
Excellent !!! Seal just have had The Time of his Life… he is amazingly good.. Jeff Beck May you are resting easy well in the Eternal Lights of God.. I will always love you, Sir 🎸🤍🕊 ✨ ✨ ✨ ✨
If there was ever a cover that wasn't only half the quality of the original, this (along with the Beatles twist and shout) is it. This version is just as good as the original.
Great music, with great artists. My only complaint: Through the years a large part of the joy of watching Jeff Beck play was watching his fingers in coordination with his control of the instrument as he literally dragged the sounds out of the guitar. Yes, he was a musician but he was also a technician who knew just what to do to get just the sounds that he wanted. The Master fused both skills, the results were always superb. R.I.P. Jeff Beck.
This is a great cover. The original was recorded live without overdubs or any overproduced crap. This cover is the opposite. It was all recorded seperately except Seal and Beck, which were probably recorded together, and it shows. The soul that Dylan shows on the original and the way the musicians come together can only be attained with a live band. That's one of the things that makes the original song amazing. They sat down and played together until they got the song right.
Agree, this is overproduced. If it was stripped down to Beck and Seal with just a simple backbeat and less guitar and less backup vocals, I'd listen to it all the time. It gave me a headache by the end.
For those that haven't already heard it, check out Jeff and Seal doing a tribute of Hendrix's Manic Depression.. Great artists, they should tour together!
Loads of people read from songsheets in the studio because they have to nail that vocal perfectly, so it's there for reference. Singing live, if you mess up a word or two it's so much easier to cover it up and get away with it up there on stage.
RIP Jeff Beck. I saw you in Toronto, when you were on tour with Santana, and I ... we did not clap thunderously because you were so good that after each song we had to pause, and re-evaluate. Wow ! What a hidden gem...... Excellent ..... The Seal Beck Band
Jussi, oh yes, DEFINITELY! What an amazing gem I've 💎 never heard bef. Ritchie Blackmore said, (and btw, he rarely compliments others) said 🙄 Jeff just had more notes on his guitar 🎸 😉
Jeff Beck makes a guitar sing. He's the one man that makes the guitar soar with sound and feeling.
I saw Hendrix do this in the ram jam club Brixton London 1966 . One of his very early gigs in late 66. Jeff must have been there .
What an incredible combination....voice and the accords of Jeff Beck guitar....this maestro Jeff Beck is a masterpiece in classics and in any genre he played in his career. What a gifted musician he always will be in the history of music.
Jeff Beck is such an artist - he will play with any musician .
amazing. beck is a genius on guitar, and seal is a genius vocalist. how am i just now hearing this?

Great combination ! Jeff and Seal 😎
Jeff Beck is the best guitarist I've ever heard. Beck is one with the guitar and Seal can old his own on vocals.
Yes❤❤
A similar good Gitarrist was "stevie ray vaughn" - die a Hendrix Cover too...and Hendrix and Erich Clapton almost stepped into the helicopter - in which stecke ray vaughn died
Jeff Beck's guitar playing is unmatched throughout the years. Seal sings heavenly, the music sheets are for the video.
I'm gonna have to call bull on the music sheets just being for the video. This song is written by Bob Dylan. There's nothing to be concerned about getting it right. Seal & Beck did a great job.
Good
very nice Jeff and Seal - a timeless iconic profound song
People aren’t talking enough about how much Vibe seal brings
Fabulous. Jeff seems to be enjoying himself on another guitar masterclass. Seal has a brilliant voice. I've massively enjoyed this!!!!! An album and tour from these two? If only! Please! 🦁🦁

I love Seal's deep gravelly voice in this !!! Most excellent collaboration!!!!
Seal does an incredible job with this song. A mixture of irony, scorn, and pity all playing off of each other. A song both sung and spoken - hard to do.
