Dan du Plessis has got the same "nous" and touches his dad, Michael had that was the glue that turned Naas Botha, Danie Gerber and Ray Mordt into legends. Michael is the most underrated centre the Boks ever had and it seems history is repeating itself with Dan. Du Plessis was the critical link in both Mgomezulu's tries...😊
@@itsovergetuptherejoe Old Danie Craven always use to say you pick your "ball-players" first and then fill in the blanks around them and my 45 year old love of the game has borne that out. Ask yourself which SA team could consistently beat the "Naas Botha/Bulls Express" at his peak...? The WP with Michael pulling the strings playing flyhalf....two years in a row to win the then coveted Currie Cup. When Dan is fit and comfortable; he's very difficult to maintain because of his instincts to be at the right place at the right time. Just a pity it's not really appreciated. The scoreboard doesn't lie and I personally think Rassie is missing a trick here; with our various; lethal back three combo's and Pollie a fixture; the Boks need a playmaker to unlock their true potential; something neither de Allende or Esterhuizen really excel at. In my fantasy team Grant Williams is at 9; Pollie is at 10; Dan at 12 and Stedman Gans at 13....talk about explosive... Cheslin; Canaan; Warrick and Kurt-Lee will become unstoppable against all comers.. This is especially relevant now that the scrum rules have been tweaked to take away our set piece dominance with broken play going to be the key and the new buzz-word. Manie and Dan is the spark that lights up the Stormers back play and the Boks need this capabilities quite desperately.
Superb Stormers!!! I've only seen that beaten about a decade ago in the ITM/NPC. Highlanders scored 3 tries in the last 4min to beat Tasman. A disaster as i had a sizeable bet riding on the latter. Blown away in the most cruel manner
5 minutes from full time, you are 9 points down and the scrummie of the Dragons decides to kick the ball away in and around the half line. This is why Wales rugby will always be average, because they don´t have the mentality. You have 5 minutes to score twice and you want to play for field position, wtf are you doing man?
You know how NZ has the Maori All Blacks, can SA not have a Cape Coloured XV? Only players from E & W Cape, of cape coloured descent.. That team would be untouchable. I know because I played school/uni/club rugby in SA for a good 10 years and out of the 12 official languages in SA, Cape Coloured was the hardest to play rugby against.
That’s the worst idea, i have ever heard. I’m from WP and I do think border/ WPs are a fantastic style but Apartied is over man. Rather have a coach like Dobbo than works to those strengths and knows the style
I mean I get where you coming from and yes the Cape Coloured demographic seemingly has some sort of genetic predisposition towards the oval ball game. Obviously selecting such a team is not allowed by the constitution anymore. But for the sake of argument, if we were allowed to select such a team, this hypothetical group of players would have a sterling backline... but they will be found wanting when it comes to the heavies upfront. Obviously we've had some great scrummagers, hookers, locks and loosies coming out of the white and black demographics, but not so much coming out of the Cape Coloured community. You want an example of strength in diversity? There you go.
Yup, you can do this to a team that has won 3 games this season and are down to 14 men during the this time. Imagine the crap rugby being played in this comp when a hapless stormers can still go from 23 - 21 with 8 minutes to go and still win by 3 tries.
That commentator saying Stormers are playing “Fijian rugby”🤦🏽♂️bruh this is what we do for warm up in SA
The entire backline KILLED in this game. Pity Willemse wasn't included. This is the Stormers we know and love! Cape Town excellence as its finest!

He was good last season. I feel he has gone up a gear this season.

Running the weirdest lines into the opposition and still scoring.
As soon as Dayimani and Sacha came on the entire game changed.
Sacha is gold
Dan du Plessis is so underrated. He’s so good
Manie's kicking was amazing, he has difficult kicks and got all his kicks over. Springboks 10 for sure.
We tried that
@@randomlyfactual1943 We tried that and won a World Cup, yes
@@randomlyfactual1943 and when he was on, the backline ran way more!
@@bravestarr1797 we won it by dropping him
@@real_bakerman Like against Ireland?
Gelant back to his best
I love these small venues
Du Plessis is such a great link and becomes as magical as his father and uncle. Try assist 💪💪💪

Libbok! Beautiful side stepping ❤
I thought it was a prop he’d stepped, it looked so easy. But no it was a fullback DAMN!
@@itsovergetuptherejoe Manie is great at carving up defenses when he gives it a go
@@itsovergetuptherejoe he posseses deceptive speed as well, hardly utilizes it.
Brilliant work !
Not the best of starts but glad they corrected in the end. Connacht will be way harder though. Can't afford to play like the first 60.
Stormers forever!
All the way boys
Support runners at their best
Something the Springboks lack despite Cheslin Kolbe's meters, no supporting runner in sight.
The Gwat Dragons got an unlubricated pounding in that last 10 min. Nice from Die gom van Zulu
Pity Warrick Gallant wasnt in the Springbok RWC '23 squad
STORMERS!!!
Man Dan du Plessis is good
/inb4 World Rugby bans open play kicks for all players named Manie
Nah they won't do that.
They'll just ban his ability to breathe on the field.
Stormers jou lekka ding
manie i think should be a 400 m specialist
200, but don't underestimate him at 100😅, he doesn't play outside centre or wing anymore so won't see speed from him much anymore.
hulle mase poesa ....that's our capetown stormers we know

It’s written in the constitution-that cannot happen

Dragons same as Sharks with Bok players.
