Rich is he who needs little to be happy.
He who has good health is rich,,money is just a tool to make life more pleasant but it can't buy good health,,it may patch up your health some but can't completely give good health
@@lutherthompson8547 Excellent comment and reply from you guys, I immediately thought of an individual I know a man in great shape for his age trains at his local boxing club, takes his dogs on regular long walks but a few days ago he took a stroke.
It is possible to live comfortably in the USA for $2K per month, you just have to move farther away from major cities.
No it’s not, unless you’re eating fast food with no automobile.
Same in Canada. Live in a small town and have no car but it can be done.
@@11Suncere fast food costs you way more than healthy food or if you cook at home.
My house is paid off in December and at 36 ill live on $2100 a month total ... By my estimate $1100 of which is my budget for food and entertainment... I live in Indiana tho so cost of living isnt as bad as a lot of places
I urge men to be extremely careful with Asian women. Keep your money in a safe bank and invest nothing in Philippines.
well yeah your correct ,,,
Interesting information. And I do love seeing how the people of the Philippines view economic ranges very differently than many other countries. The reality is that many of the immigrants that come here and are seen as rich, are actually poor in their own countries. Which is why so many move here... the low cost of living (and the beautiful morena women)...
thank you for watching my video and sharing your insightful message
From the same report, middle class Filipino and below make up
92.8% of Filipino household incomes. They range is 9,100-63,700 php per month ($165 - $1,158).
Household income is different than individual income. The expat makes about $2,000 individual on social security, so he makes more than 92.8% of the population as an individual. He is considered rich to the Filipinos, because he makes more than the vast majority on his income alone vs Filipino household income.
i know VERY few expats from usa who get 2000 for social security. most get between $900 and $1400
I think this is more realistic. $3-4K per month is far above average to the typical Filipino.
@@1MinuteFlipDoc Agreed, I made a chart. Rich - $3,309 is the top 0.6% of income earners in the Philippines.
Yelp , my retirement is more than a top surgeon here but I have friends living good on 1k to 2 k and above and in-between .
Some immigrants make about $1500 social security, and some of us bring in a good $7,000 (these would be military retirees that also get VA disability, once social security is added, then it is closer to $9,000 a month).
555 you are smart and beautiful, and yes you need 2k usd to live comfortably, and 4k to live good. However, the fact that only 1% of filipino keep over 60K usd in the bank is a bit misleading. Richie rich filipinos have millions, they just do not keep it in the bank but in assets, like owning a big company or rental properties. Very nice show, keep on the good work and God Bless.
Hello Dov Oso, Thank you for your kind words and insight! It's true that wealth management varies widely. I'm glad you enjoyed the my video, and I appreciate your support. God bless you too!
Need 4000 dollars for mth Australia need 5000 mth Philippines cost of living in higher in Manila now currently TV to buy Manila double price than Australia
Is this before or after taxes?
Good question. 😊
this figure is before taxes
…so $3,737.00 USD (200k+pesos) would be plenty.
At the moment the exchange is around 57.80 ao more than that
most foreigners i know are just getting by on social security, there are a few who have a little extra for going out to eat or to buy gifts for christmas , but i have not met any who are rich, rich people dont retire to the philippines they go somewhere with good medical care and no litter and pollution.

I have $8000+ a month just from real estate passively and I retired age 37 and moved to the Philippines. Not counting other sources of income. I came here to have a bunch of kids 😊
@@wanderingdoc5075 there are a LOT of places i would rather have a bunch of kids ! i hope you also plan on giving all those kids great educations and health care and quality time together. there is no shortage of kids here, in case you didnt notice. millions who need help with basic life issues. with your money and intentions i would have picked somewhere with few kids and a population in decline that had top shelf health care and schools and no litter.... like japan.
it would be nice if you donated BOOKS to schools each month since most province schools have none, kids get paper xerox work sheets with no comprehensive coverage of any topics.

You must not live around Bonifacio Global City and Makati, where rich expats live in $5,000 USD a month condos or $25,000 USD a month homes.
Thank you kindly for taking your valuable time with calculating the revenue conversions. 😊
you are very Welcome.
I need 3k dollars a month to do whatever I want in Phuket, Thailand.
Phuket has too many Russians with deep pockets which increases the cost of living on that island in Thailand.
That would get you far in the PH also. Good luck ❤️
Annie, at what age do older men STOP being attractive to Filipinas? I’m 64. Is it too late?
I have no income and want to come to PI and i will have about 17.5 million PHP
I hope this will be enough to give me a basic standard of living in the province somewhere
It sounds like a good start. Anyway you can invest most of that so you are living off interests or dividends, even partially?
No, this is the top error people do when coming to the Philippines. You cannot live your full life "just" starting with that amount. Amount that looks big but it's not, unless you are 75+ old today. No, you'll deplete it *FAST* . You need a small source of income too, at least $300 a month, or you'll really end out like many other guys who believed to live their full life on a fixed amount and it got all into unexpected expenses.
If a foreigner makes 100k usd then what do u say. Many do.

I Know several Filipinas working in Call centers, and they pay around 15,000-20,000p per month $300-$400USD. They consider themselves lucky to have that job, that many compete for. Also someone living in the province is going to make far less $$ than Manila.
Not really true! Depends! Lived in province 5 years. Maybe rent but nothing else
That sounds about right from my short time in a call center.
I’m getting ready to move to the PH , I will have a monthly income of 188;675 php. What will my standard of living be like

If you really are in the upper percentile of Filipino wealth ..you’ll know it. Don’t be fooled by stats, there are plenty of wealthy individuals mostly in the big cities like Manila and Cebu. Yes your wealthy in the phil’s ..I’ve been too three weddings here ..all over 2 million peso and the last one cost ..6 million. It’s the circles you mix in..good luck and a have great new year.
Hello Annie dear. I enjoy watching your videos from the locals perspective. Watching expat videos are SO boring because every one of those vloggers make videos of the same thing. What is considered ultra rich in the Philippines???
In the US, $4,000 / month is middle class. Here, its rich. You can live better on $X in PH than in the US ... But not that much better. Housing and medical care here are very cheap. Most other things roughly the same. I live quite comfortably on my American pension. But "rich" is relative. I know I'm a lot better off than the average filipino.
It’s great you’re able to live comfortably, but it’s true that the cost of other things can still be similar to the US have higher tax. thank you for watching🥰
Damn, been rich my whole adult life (in the Philippines) according to 100k pesos. To be rich back home...100k dollars a month won't be enough but yeah you are wealthy at that point.
Yeah you might be Looks like living the high life! In the Philippines, you’re practically a billionaire!
The average Social Security for Americans is around 100,000 pesos/month. No wonder all those old Americans have trophy young Filipina wives.
Yes so true ❤️
Not me, I'm a POOReigner. 😉
My wife just says he is white but not rich..
Keep 'em guessing.. LOL
Funny, I like that. I try to tell my wife I am not rich, her moms says " if he can get on a plane, fly here, stay for a month, he is rich" Its relative isnt it.
HA HA you guys are so funny Thank you for watching my Video Happy New Year Everyone!
My Filipina v wife grew up poor. I was worried b that when we got married she would want to go on a crazy spending spree. But in fact she's mostly been frugal. Her one real splurge is that she wants to take taxis all the time instead of trikes for the extra comfort. And she's very protective of our money. She caught our maid stealing P500 from my wallet and she was way more upset about not than I was.

2500 dollars a month living in the USA. You are considering poor person. It is almost the same thing living in poverty of usa vs phillippines. USA people can’t afford rent if you make 2500 a month
well if you can make and move to Philippines you'll be rich
Life is very nice here in the Philippines and I feel extremely fortunate financially but finding it very (extremely) difficult to meet a high quality young lady that is not desperate or in financial need.
It’s not hard fella, I’ve been with my Filipina/recently engaged and my gf’s were all bankers ..I seem to attract bankers. One non corporate, the other two corporate JP Morgan and now fiancée citi/wells f. It’s all about setting standards at the start ..date ..single middle class modern educated ..professionals(and I mean more corporate). I’ve dated a a couple of province girls and it turned me right off..so i learnt my lesson..you’ll find a modernity to the city Filipina but you’ll need to be more with it and not the archetypal older guy etc. My fiancée was a ex model/media studies/actress. Yes we met online ..crazy..I really did not believe most of it at first. She did not say most of it ..amd even her profile did not do her justice, she played it down on purpose. So they are out there for sure …you’ve just got be patient..ps if online pay for the service as she did also..it weeds out the scammers etc. Good luck 🤞
How long have you been in the Philippines?
I'm here only 2 months and I've met three quality and available women who have their own money. Look harder po
@@wanderingdoc5075 that’s what I’m saying. The girl I’m dating now is what I guess you would describe as lower middle-class, but she has her own job, and so does her mother whom she lives with. Also, she’s so damn young, I don’t expect her to be rich. She’s only 19. the first girl I had was a 24 year old nurse, who came from a family that made more than I do! And I do pretty good. she’s now a nurse in the United States, making the same amount of money I make, more with overtime. I wish we could post pictures on RUclips, because both of these girls would be considered very cute by any and all American standards.

Why dose so many Filipinos say foreigner is able to help out the family. If he wants to fine. I don't see that he has any responsibly to do so.
they all think you are rich even if you get $900 of social security a month.
You need to understand Philippine culture. When you marry a Filipina, you marry the family. you can disagree all you want...but if you dont consider the family it will never end well. And it will end..trust me. This doesnt mean that when you marry a Filipina the family starts forwarding their monthly bills to you, it means you are expected to consider the family, their needs and contribute a little to help out now and then. It is something YOU control. My wifes family never makes me feel like I must do anything, but I do, as I know it is important to my wife, and that makes it important to me. Embrace it.
@@aplliedweaponology No I don't need to understand anything. What you're saying is its the Philippines way or the High Way. Well I don't agree. After all I worked hard all my life to be able to enjoy my Golden years. Not to give it away. I have always been a generous man and love to help where I see the need. But I get so tired of hearing Filipino always saying it's expected. No it's not. If the relationship ends so be it.
@@mikewright9637 nobody pays you to come to the Philippines. Don't like their culture? Don't come.
For the work my girl does around the house she deserves her own money. What she does with it (gives it to her family) is none of my business.

I like the idea of being Upper Middle Class in th PH

Im curious! If a man marry a Filipina, is he now obligated to take care of here tire family? Because they seems like,e youre gonna make some people lazy.
I don’t believe you are. I certainly don’t expect that from my future husband. Filipinos are very family oriented so if there is an emergency all family members may be expected to chip in if they have the means but it is up to the person if they choose to do it or not.
Hope this helps. ❤️

Hi, Annie! I'm not sure if you'll see this. But I have nothing against relocating to The Philippines. My main concerns are being able to support myself. I want to be able to earn money (i.e. have a job). I have bipolar. So ... being able to receive proper care for that is also a concern. This is Andrew. Thank you for your replies to my comments on your other videos. You're very kind. I'm also wondering what currency the figures mentioned are in.
Hello Andrew, your always welcome there’s nothing wrong with that if you want to make money while your here in the Philippines but you need to think what kind of job you want to do while your here and if you want to look for partner to take care of you im sure you’ll find someone just make sure she knows your concerns and some filipina is not that choosy especially those girls from the province im sure you’ll be ok living in the Philippines im always converting to USD. ☺️

You still didn’t answer my question about the Filipina not being a virgin while the guy is. I’m just wondering how Filipinas generally feel about that. It’s been my experience that here where I live in the United States it’s a massive red flag for a guy to be a virgin. I’ve had some ladies (not Filipinas) tell me it’s a dealbreaker.

Filipina’s that seek older retired Americans should know that the average government pension (Social Security) at age 62. (The earliest age to draw SS) this average pension is $1200 USD per month. This varies by how much that American worked and how much his salary was while he was working. Some Americans get additional benefits for being disabled but keep in mind a man that is disabled does come to the Philippines with medical or mental health problems. They can most certainly get the medications but they should also have a doctor that they follow up with to manage their problems.

Hi Annie, at last a sensible person talking sense on what is needed to live there. Drives me bananas hearing most of the expat clueless vloggers saying we need minimum $2k . Thanks Annie , you are a breath of fresh air, Happy new year to you and your family.
Well I do live here. I’m not a clueless expat! If an expat wants a 1/2 Filipino/ 1/2 foreign lifestyle then 2k a month is a start. More is better! I shoot for 2k but it is usually more. That’s with no rent and we own a car and scooter. A lot of foreigner come to live not just survive. And yeah I’m not even close to rich!!
@@51dbail I agree. Minimum 2k, if you want to live and actually enjoy Philippines...not just survive. Example: up to 1k budget for rent, utilities, internet, cellphone service plan...etc. The other 1k or more for groceries, food, going out, exploring Philippines etc. 2k is bare minimum to live not just survive. If you're financially stable and have at least a 2k budget, you can really live and enjoy Philippines, instead of just surviving. The Philippines is one of the cheapest countries to live in...and there's still a lot of broke expats. Smh.
@@51dbail Everyone has their own standard of living and dreams, some want to live basic and blend in to the culture, others want to spend every paso in their pocket living it up. I have been on many channels like this for many years researching the kind of retirement i want that suits my budget, situation and long term sustainability. I have heard countless monthly household budget from vloggers all over and totally agree with Annie's figures. The Filipina Pea even directly told me a year ago many expats live and quite happy on 1k budget with their filipina. Many will of sold their homes back home and are sitting on a nice nest egg when they need it, in other words, those with a sustainable plan survive those that dont fail.
@@cjack202003 i disagree, 2k is not minimum by a long way as Annie describes, just because someone is living the way they want is any less happy or content than the other is crazy. Having your own home there would future proof against rent rises for example and having a nest egg to fall back on is needed also. Plenty of options to cut costs in many areas but up to the individual lifestyle you want to lead and can sustainably afford. Sure places like Manila you need 2k but not everywhere, plenty of quiet cheap places to go to live the dream.
@mrmadborg Maybe before the pandemic you could have got by on under 1k a month. Inflation has also hit the Philippines, and the pocketbooks of many expats. Living under 1k a month is possible for some (like a single guy eating cheap food and renting a small room) but not feasible if you have a family. My budget in the Philippines was more like 1700 a month and thats with 2 little kids and a vehicle. House already paid for so no rent. That's living in the boondocks in the province in Bohol not in a city. If in a city then it's more.
Annie, I think sometime money is looked as a negative in the Philippines. The more money a man has then the more he can take care of a filipina family. Getting a college degree or buying land all takes money. Buying a car or Animals or medical bills take money... wouldn't it be nice to have a foreigner husband who can pay for your family to stay at a Resort or fly to Japan? Money is meant to make your life easier ❤❤
Some Filipina woman like that idea i know, but i think financial stability is important but i believe a successful partnership involves mutual support and understanding and respectful relationship contributes to a fulfilling life beyond just financial aspect.
Don’t be extravagant
yeah its really depend on there Lifestyle, why not stick to the essentials and avoid unnecessary extras.
Safe to say I am nowhere near what's considered rich in the Philippines
If I retired to phillipines I would live so comfortable 😂
why not!

I even saw a dress for sale at the SM mall in Bacolod for $7k (U.S.). So I wondered who were the wealthy buyers existing there. Lots of poverty exists yet extremely wealthy secret shoppers are moving there.
yeah lots of wealthy people here thanks
I can tell you the malls have a lot of people in them. All days and times of day. Why aren’t these people at work? We’re do they get their money?
Uhhh, you should lose the $3 words. It's clear you're struggling with them.
Ok how about $2 words? 😂
@@DearANNIE28Whatever works.
Omg im rich? 😂
Hi. Nice video. I have a channel too.
I will check it out! thanks for watching my videos Happy New Year!
Good video Annie. Thank you for informing me that I won't be rich if I retire to the Philippines. 😢😢😢😭😭😭😀
You dont have to be rich to live there. Find a nice place in the Province, hell you could live for under 1000.00 US a month if you were careful.
I hope that’s a joke. I think it still beats living in countries with high cost of living.
I'm sure that if I retire to the Philippines, Annie will come up with a budget for me 😀
@@aplliedweaponologyI have a small house in central Bohol, 2 little kids and budget us way over 1k a month and that's even with no transportation. The prices have gone up considerably in the Philippines since covid.
At 5,900 a month after taxes I live very well.
When I retired from the military in 2012 I decided to move there. Life is good but honestly hard to find a good partner
You need to set standards and goals ..and make sure you set yourself apart. Ie make the best your attributes.
@@Eric-qm5xw oh I do, loving life
@@TruckerBill0531 All the best ..have a great new year.
Dude, there’s no way around it, you’re going to have to come up with a way to cold approach the women you actually want, who seem high class. The next time you’re at the bank, or a hospital, etc., you’re going to have to walk right up to that high class looking Filipina and let her know you’re interested. You’re going to have to just assume because you’re American, and hopefully at least decent looking, she’ll be happy you approached her. You may not get the first one, but by the time you get to girl number 15, you should have someone willing to go on a date with you. keep in mind, you are rich to them, and unless you’re hideous, I don’t see how 15 different women, anywhere in the world, are going to turn down having dinner with a rich man. Just make sure the women you’re approaching are the ones you actually desire, with no exception. You’ll eventually get the girl. You just have to deal with a little bit of risk of embarrassment when it comes to the initial approach. Who cares? You’ve let being shy affect you your entire life in the United States, don’t bring that self limiting nonsense overseas where you have all the advantages!
One thing I would suggest to make, approaching a little easier, as well as less embarrassing on the Filipina you’re approaching, is to get you some business cards with your name, email address, Instagram handle, etc. on them . This way, you can quietly slip your card to the bank teller, or the nurse drawing your blood, without her coworkers noticing. It’s also easier to just slide a girl a card, with a quick compliment, rather than standing there trying to give a spill for two minutes. Just try to make sure the business card actually seems like it was designed for a business, not a card made specifically to give to women. Lol. You’re not trying to come across like a player player.
Lastly, depending on your circumstances, and your physical attributes, you may have to do what I call reasonable settling. If you’re 60 years old, with a noticeable potbelly, it may be a difficult struggle to get 19-year-olds who look like Instagram models. You may have to reasonably settle for the very pretty 35-year-old. You might really want a Filipina doctor, but you might have to reasonably settle for a nurse supervisor. You might really want that Filipina that looks like an Asian Marilyn Monroe, but you might have to reasonably settle for the girl that looks like an Asian Audrey Hepburn. Don’t totally abandon your standards, just tailor them to fit your current realities, and to dial back the difficulty level a bit.
@@troyelam8978 great info but I’m 54 far from old lol
Another fine, articulate and informative video Dearest Annie. 🦄
Thank you.
Wish you and yours the finest of new year's@
Thank you so much! Tom
My monthly income is $4800 and I have a separate income of $2900 from investments..but I don't think of myself rich by any means. I live very comfortable but that can be taken away from one doctor visit. Being Rich in the Philippines and in California im Middle class..these are just titles to make us feel good about ourselves..money is not meant to belittle others but it just creates a opportunity to help others in need..
well said
very good point, thank you for your contribution to my channel Happy New Year!
