From watching the game live and the way the refs were talking, I suspect it was a "makeup call" for the obvious DPI that was missed on the immediately preceding play. It was actually kinda funny watching the announcer go from mildly annoyed about the DPI to FURIOUS about the Roughing because, you know, hating Brady sells in Atlanta.
Fun fact about the defensive holding on the field goal. Last time it was called was in 2015 on the Raiders and the referee that made the call in that game was the same ref that called the penalty on the Raiders in the Monday Night game.

That was the best systematic tearing down of a Carolina sports team I've ever seen and heard with that Panthers segment. That was exactly how I've felt about this team since the middle of last season when Rhule showed he was incapable of being an NFL head coach. With Tepper as owner, though, I don't really know if Carolina will be competitive anytime soon. Makes me fear for Charlotte FC's future since they're owned by the same man.
