Dora Pejačević (1885-1923) was a Croatian composer, considered one of the founders of modern Croatian classical music. You can find much more about Pejačević's short yet colorful life on my blog: unknowncompose...
The "Slavic" or "Slavonic" sonata, written in 1917 and dedicated to violinist Zlatko Baloković, is one of Pejačević's finest works, one that I believe belongs in the violin standard repertoire. The intense writing for both instruments, unexpected harmonic shifts, and rhythmic groove of the final movement are hard to resist!

Glad you enjoyed it! I would highly recommend her cello sonata, piano concerto in G minor, and symphony in F# minor as well.

A marvelous sonata. As mentioned elsewhere, for those who would like to perform it, beware of the wrong notes in this otherwise excellent recording at 12:39 and 15:18, which thoroughly alter the character of the music at a very critical point of the work. (I have the newest edition published by the Croatian Music Information Centre and it is identical to this score, at least in that particular section - I have not checked the rest.)

I agree that this mistake from the pîanist is quite weird...
