They had not only permission from Toei, but Saban/Disney had input on the design process of many popular Sentai seasons so they may be adapted. It may be "over" (we'll see if paramount is willing to buy them from Hasbro), but calling them illegitimate is to call basically half of all of Heisei illegitimate.
