Hello everyone. In this video, I'm teaching how to make fake fish curry with Vaazhaipoo. This is a 100% Veg dish but you can also change that one ingredient to make it a non-veg dish.
We only post Veg dishes. Most people asked for nonveg recipes But I'm a vegetarian, so We'll prepare a neutral dish, Which can be made as veg and non-veg dish. Today, we are going to do the veg dish. Mostly in cities, the Banana flower(Vaazhaipoo) is not used often. so we will use that here and make a kulambu. This kulambu can be prepared with fish also. It is called Nethili Meen Kulambu in Non-Veg. But the process is the same for this Vaazhaipoo kulambu also. If you want Non-Veg, use fish otherwise you can use this method and make a perfect veg dish. By following the method, you can make a perfect traditional Vaazhaipoo kulambu.
Here are the ingredients for this Vaazhaipoo Kulambu
Gingelly oil - 3 tbs
Cumin seeds - ½ tsp
Mustard seeds - ½ tsp
Fenugreek - ¼ tsp
Garlic Cloves - 7 nos
Curry leaves - 1 sprig
Green chilli - 3 nos
Onion - 1 nos
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Chilli powder - 2 tsp
Tomato puree - 1 cup
Tamarind - 1 Small lemon size
Coconut milk - 1 cup
Jaggery - 2 pinches
Corn flour - 1 tsp
Rice flour - 1 tsp
Maida - ½ tsp
Vazhaipoo - 50 gms
Salt - As per taste

What an alternative for Nethilee Meen Kolumbu👏👏. Your demo is so simple and explicit that it makes cooking very easy. Each and every point is so easily understood by us in all your recepes, that we are tempted to prepare your dishes and Vazhaipoo Kolumbu is no exception. I was interested in preparing this dish a couple of months ago, but unfortunately Vazhaipoo was not available near my house in Western Kalyan, Mumbai. I was lucky in spotting one Vazhaipoo recently and I prepared this dish on 01/11/22. I tell you, this Kolumbu was an instant hit in my family. The real alternative to Nethilee Meen Kolumbu.
