Definitely Les Paul's guitar. Bing recordings a few songs with the Les Paul Trio back in the mid to late 1940's. What a combination! I think that at the time of this recording Mary a.k.a. Coleen Sommers (I hope I spelled her real name right) was still singing and playing guitar with Jimmy Wakely on his radio program and on his recordings. Listen to Jimmy's recording of "One has my Name ( the other has my heart)" recording, circa 1947, that's Mary singing harmony behind him after the instrumental break.
nicoley133 Wow! Nicole, do you happen to have that recording? I am also a really big admirer of Les & Mary, do you think you could post that very recording of "Mocking Bird Hill" ?!
You can hear Gregory Peck singing a short version of this song in the movie "Duel in the Sun"

Les Paul and Mary Ford guested on one of Bing's Chesterfield shows and the three of them did "Mockin' Bird Hill."
