  • On July 24, the Disney Genie+ service will become Lightning Lane Multi Pass, while individual Lightning Lane will now be known as Lightning Lane Single Pass.
    Here’s how Lightning Lane passes will work beginning Wednesday, July 24:
    Lightning Lane Multi Pass
    When you purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you may make up to 3 Lightning Lane selections in a theme park, in advance of your visit. You’ll also be able to choose available times as you make your selections.
    On the day of your visit, once you use a selection, check the My Disney Experience app for availability to make an additional selection.
    Lightning Lane Single Pass
    Lightning Lane Single Pass will work much like it does today, where you can secure a time to ride one of our most highly demanded attractions, but you’ll now be able to make your purchase and plan in advance.
    Important Information
    At Disney World, guests with a booked onsite stay at a Disney World Resort hotel, as well as those staying at the Disney World Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve, and Shades of Green, will be able to purchase both Multi Pass and Single Pass options up to 7 days in advance. And not just for one day - for the entire length of their stay up to 14 days. All other guests can plan up to 3 days in advance.
    Guests may purchase a Lightning Lane Multi Pass, a Lightning Lane Single Pass or both. The app will also be updated to make it quicker and easier to purchase and plan, with fewer steps and a new option to purchase Lightning Lane Single Pass and Lightning Lane Multi Pass in one transaction.
    Purchasing and booking for Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass begins at 7 a.m. on the day you are eligible.
    Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass - and their purchasing workflows - will go into effect on July 24. Genie+ service and Individual Lightning Lanes will remain available until then. If you are already at Disney World on July 24, you will be able to book for the remainder of your stay beginning on July 24, but not before.
    During the purchasing process, you’ll need to make the same Multi Pass selections for everyone in your party. Afterward, you can modify them for individuals, even before you arrive.
    International guests, with the exception if Canada, will not be able to purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Single Pass prior to arriving in the United States.
    Meet & Greets are currently not listed as available attractions for Lightning Lane Multi Pass. But a lot could change in the next month - or even after launch
    Disneyland Resort will also use the new Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass names beginning July 24. Based on the different ways we know guests visit Disneyland Resort, the way guests purchase, select and redeem Lightning Lane passes at Disneyland Resort will remain the same.

    One thing I learned after recording was that I will NOT be able to pre-purchase and make my selections for July 24th. I will be able to pre-book July 25 & 26 on July 24, but will have no Disney Resort Guest advantage, which is extremely disappointing.

      @@triciaretzlaff4234 they aren’t implementing the new system until July 24th. My guess is because it’s on MDE, they can’t have the current Genie + and the new Multipass at the same time.

      @@ShannonFord In my June 2024 WDW vacay I used Individual Lightning Lanes as well as Disney Genie+ with extended evening hours, early entry and 4 after hours events to minimize standing in line. All 7 days I went back to the Beach Club Villa or Yacht Club (split stay) to take a nap from noon to 4 pm. I was able to ride everything I wanted without exhaustion. It was a dream vacation! Please remember that I visit alone and I am 59 years old. I have assets but not energy.

      We won’t go back to rope dropping. It was a necessity when our son was younger but we find relaxing and getting there in the afternoon is just more enjoyable. I’m hopeful for this new system. We won’t get to test the pre-planning aspect, but I will be able to test how it works day of, especially at night.

    THANK YOU so much for covering international aspect. Nobody else is!
    It’s disgraceful that all ‘international guests’ such as us UK DVC members are blocked from advance booking.
    So we can only buy and plan, when we physically get into the USA (a VPN won’t get around this).
    This means everyone else will be enjoying their vacation, while we sit in our room trying to select whatever rides are left, when we should be having fun.
    There is a petition for international guests who are unhappy

    • @ShannonFord
      @ShannonFord  16 дней назад +1

      I completely agree. I don’t know if you saw my pinned comment, but this is how it will also be the first week. As the new system won’t be up and running until 7am July 24.
      I have heard that the reason for blocking International guests has something to do with legal restrictions. If that is the case, they may have to address each country individually. Not sure how true this is, but that would somewhat justify the reason and hopefully means they will address it going forward.

      @@ShannonFord yes I feel so sorry for people on vacation when it first rolls out. I imagine it’s going to be a bit of a stressy mess 🙈
      They’ve been saying it’s something to do with global payments. But Disney is a global company, so don’t create a system that disadvantages about a quarter of your customers that live abroad.
      As UK visitors we can easily purchase Universal express pass with our park tickets, so I honestly don’t understand what Disney are doing.
      They already create a rift between international and non-international guests by making UK tickets cheaper. There should be one price, for all. Then perhaps the community wouldn’t be so broken ❤️‍🩹

    • @ShannonFord
      @ShannonFord  16 дней назад +1

      Wow I had no idea about ticket prices.
      And yes, I was just telling my hubby that at 7am on July 24, I will now have to try and get 2 boarding groups, (Tron & Tiana), but the multi pass, book the 3 attractions for MK, then buy for July 25 & 26 and book those attractions. And I’m pretty sure the app will crash because it will be opening up for everyone at the same time.

    • @disneygirlsuk
      @disneygirlsuk 16 дней назад

      @@ShannonFord oooh yes, the app will 1,000% crash I imagine. I really hope you have a great time regardless. Cast members are also in for a rough time with this 😬
      And yes, UK tickets available are usually 14 day tickets, it’s not possible for us to buy like the one day passes from here I don’t believe. So, there’s usually a discount involved that many people get annoyed about.
      Who knew going on vacation could be so stressful 😂

      We have, but its work. I have to set my alarm and then I book whenever I can and then modify the times and stack as many attractions as I can and then we go to the park in the afternoon and stay until close. This has worked well for us, but won't work for us with this new system.

  • @colleenm6662
    @colleenm6662 16 дней назад +1

    Thank you for explaining the changes. Hopefully it will be a good system. I will miss stacking as we are a family that likes a late start. Maybe I missed it but can you buy a single pass for both Tron and Snow White or just one of those pay extra rides?

    • @ShannonFord
      @ShannonFord  16 дней назад

      You can but 2 a day, so yes, you could buy one of each. There are 5 attractions in total at WDW that are Single Pass, you can buy 2 a day and you cannot repeat an attraction

      No. I posted an updated comment below. It's opening up to everyone at 7am on July 24th, so I fully expect it to crash and there's also no advantage to staying onsite, which really stinks.
