One time at dinner on the disney Fantasy I told the server I didn't want anything for dessert, there was nothing with chocolate so I was just going to get ice cream after dinner. When everybody's Desert was brought I had a plate covered, when I took the cover off it said nothing very pretty written in chocolate. We all could not stop laughing years later we still joke about it😂
A top blogger suggests getting an extra milk/cereal , fruit, donuts etc the day before and put in your fridge. That way no matter how early you have to disembark, you can get a decent calm breakfast.
With evening room service, you don't have to stick to the menu either. I love melon and yoghurt/cottage cheese for a bedtime snack, it's not on the menu but they certainly have all of that in the kitchen and made me a nice plate of it every night.
With experience with Palo vs. Remy, I can 100% attest to the fact that at Remy you have to watch out for add-ons which could be hundreds of dollars extra for your dinner. We never experienced those options at Palo. We did a lot of add-ons at Remy and loved the experience. I’m over 60 and have never spent more for dinner for 2 anywhere. It was an experience that all these years later we still talk and laugh about. No regrets at all.
My hubby and I sailed on the Disney Fantasy a few months ago, and dined at both Remy and Palo. I loved them both, but preferred Remy, while my husband enjoyed Palo more. That's just a matter of preference. Although these specialty restaurants are a bit pricey, I think that Remy's food was comparable to Victoria and Alberts at a fraction of the cost, so this might be a way to experience fine dining at a pretty reasonable price. IMHO, of course.
Honestly, I wish that we would have gone to the dining rooms for breakfast instead of Marceline Market, on our August 28th cruise because it was soooo packed in the mornings! It was like the Hunger games! Lol
Unless something has recently changed, Cabanas is definitely open for breakfast on your final disembarkation day (not sure about Marceline Market on the Wish). Your servers don't offer that info up front, and basically tell you to come to whatever MDR your assigned to. But on every single cruise we've taken the buffet has also been open. We always head there an hour or so before we have to vacate our stateroom so that we don't have to haul our carryon bags to breakfast (which you'll have to do if you have the later MDR time). When we we are done, we grab our bags and leave the ship. It makes for a much less stressful morning.
Marceline is open on the Wish. You just have to hurry to get up there and then hurry to get out of the ship :) It's a little tricky getting our kids motivated in the morning.
I liked the video, but I was kinda hoping it was going to be actual advice on what food to avoid. I'm prepping for my first Disney cruise and I don't want to waste precious stomach room on things that aren't worth it
There’s not as much Disney cruise content, because every ship is different, but I would check out their videos ranking cruise ships as a whole and cruise ship restaurants specifically. They won’t go through the whole menu, but they’ll probably mention one or two fan favorite dishes at each. That or there’s probably more detailed reviews on the dfb website. (Though yes, more cruise videos would be appreciated)
Def try other Disney cruise vlogs. I haven’t yet been on a cruise, but they seem quite honest. I enjoy Legglife, Ordinary Adventures, and Jen LaForge. Some are older, and all are generally positive, but will give you an overall feel.
Love your channel but just an FYI Cabanas is open on your last morning. It opens at 6:30 for breakfast. We grab a quick bite and walk off early. Also Cove Bar is open for Coffee at 7 with snacks available. On the Wish Marceline’s is also open!!! Favorite meal what ever I am eating at the time lol!!!!
When we went on our babymoon last year, I was in the thick of some weird cravings. Our rotational dining server was amazing about getting me extra helpings of the things I was really excited about! (A whole bowl of roasted beets, anyone?) Side note: Dramamine works for seasickness AND morning sickness.
Have fun with your servers too. We went on a DCL cruise and the kids had a cool coloring option and my friend and I (in our late 30s at the time) said in the presence of our servers that that looked like fun. The entire rest of the cruise, our servers brought us whatever the kids had - coloring, hats, etc. We made sure to wear the hats.
The buffet is open for breakfast the last morning on debarkation day. It’s a more limited menu but it is a nice option to leisurely enjoy your last breakfast before leaving the ship- especially if you have early dining and don’t want to do the 7:30am breakfast time.
Rotational dining is amazing! I loved our servers, they brought up my allergies on our first night (id filled out the app pre-cruise) and we made a plan on how to manage without me having to order ahead every night.
It’s not actually true that you can’t eat in the food halls on debarkation day, they are open for a limited seating with a smaller menu. If you have an early flight and have to do the express walk off option. We have enjoyed that option on many of our cruises, including as recently as last year. It’s not as nice as the sitdown meal, but it is nice to have the option if you prefer it or need it. Thank you for everything you do at DFB!
The cruise is SO GREAT for picky eaters as well as children who don't have a lot of chance to branch out. Kiddo loves to try food off the adult menu and is way more open to trying tastes of our food when it's An Adventure.
We had the best time at dinner, my kids thought i was crazy sometimes when I ordered an entree for the table but they enjoyed trying the new things and still having their meal to eat.
Thanks for that recommendation to visit the dining rooms for breakfast. I wouldn't have expected them to serve it, but when you have as many people looking for meals on board as they do, it just makes sense! ❤
We have been on 6 cruises on the Disney Fantasy and the disembarking breakfast is always Meh. Never really hot food and poor quality. Crowded and rushed. Always go for Cabanas. And I cannot say enough about ordering whatever you want!! The servers are amazing!
I learned on the Wish this November, if a member of your party has to stay back in the room during your dinner time, you can order for them and they will send the plate to their room.
When I went to Alaska I tried so many things the first night that I actually got sick. Don't go overboard when you're going out of your comfort zone. It might be uncomfortable later.
I had to laugh at the Senor Frogs comment. 🤣 As a crew member on the Disney Magic many years ago, we'd make a beeline there whenever we were in Cozumel, desperate for some decent food (not actually sure how decent it was, but it had to be better than what we ate onboard. 😜)
Never been on a Disney Cruise. But watching these videos have piqued my interest in order to scratch that travel itch. However, the best Disney meal I ever had was in EPCOT at Restaurant Merrakesh in the world showcase. Their food was spectacular. Next to that was the vegetarian/vegan plate at the quick-service location in the same pavillion. Highly reccomend both!
We needed to get off the Wish fairly early so did early walk off. The previous morning we ate at Marceline market and stocked up on pastries so we could eat them in our room at 6am, then brush our teeth before walking straight off the ship.
So, one night on the Wish I picked a shrimp dish that sounded tasty. Neither the menu nor the server mentioned that the shrimp was served in its shell. It's pretty dark in there, and the fIrst thing I do when I get my meal is bite into a large piece of shrimp shell. Then the server comes by and says "oh, hey, I'm here to take the shells off your shrimp". Gee, thanks 😬 Anyway, it was delicious once I got all the tiny shards of shrimp shell out of my mouth: just be aware when ordering shrimp on the Wish 🙃
Thank you for this video. I’m taking my 4 year old on our first cruise (and her Nana’s 6th). I’m hoping my child will try something new, and not just eat Mac and cheese and fries. We’re hoping to get on a spot for the Olaf’s Royal picnic on The Wish. I’m still looking for a better video here on RUclips on the food choices for that special dining event. Will your channel feature them? Has anyone on your team took their child to that event? Please do an Olaf’s Royal Picnic video. I just want to know if the food is worth it for that event, or should I give my child lunch before the event, because all they’d serve is something she won’t eat. Thank you.
I think if you look up olaf's royal picnic food here on youtube you will find some videos but there is an article you find looking up on Google by "bright color mom" that goes in dept into the experience and on the bottom she talks about the foods there is no menu if you have a alimentar restriction seems like you must tell disney when doing your reserve. The food is basically some different types of sandwiches and a type of tortilla wrap, scones with berries and the 3 desserts that consists of cakes and cookies. Also the children receive a chocolate cupcake with buttercream that is olaf themed. I recomend looking into the article where she tries to describe the flavors of everything
The gnocchi at palo on the disney magic was the best ive ever had. Also, im glad i skipped the nassau island food for cabanas bc the ship had a great selection of seafood and great views of the aqua water.
I have such extreme food issues due to a medical problem that I dont think I could eat anywhere but the buffets. I dont want to put a whole restaurant out just to accommodate my needs
I heard a while back that the Wonder has $5 mimosas & bloody Marys in the morning near Quiet Cove. Is this still true? If so, when & where EXACTLY??? 😐
It can take a short time or a long time my recommendation is to bring on some foods as long as it packet food and not home made and not baked goods or meat or seafood it ok that my suggestion to help your husband when you on a Disney cruise as it not right away one time I waited an hour for it another was 2 minutes so it does vary l
Going on my first Disney Cruise this year in November (Wish). I'm not familiar with the seating arrangements for dinner on the Disney cruise. Are we able to request to be seated in our own table of 4 and not have to seat together with everyone else in a large table? If so, how can I put in that request? Is this something that can be requested before sailing day? I know that Royal and Carnival allows you to make this request but not sure about Disney since it's my first time with them.
Yes you can request this and it would be under the special request in the already booked section just so you know this is not a guarantee and you could still be out with other people outside your travel party of four anyways hope you have fun in November:)
Probably sounds a little lame but I so miss the tacos from Pirate night. We used to get them at our dining rotation as a special request because they were so good. I keep waiting for them to come back.
So if I want to take advantage of the adults only meal for an early dinner, I can't then go to my rotational dinning for a later dinner if some of my party get hungry? It is one or the other for that meal?
If you have a late seating for regular dinner and have an early adult only dinner then you’ll be fine to go to both, but I doubt you’ll be hungry for anything at the later dinner.
@@mindyschocolate Oh I know I won't be. Other members of my party on the other hand.... Can't speak for them. So it is good info to have just in case. Me... Imma relax on the balcony and digest the awesomeness until bedtime. LOL. Thank you for the info!!
