It's a white-faced heron Jeff, I googled it. Absolutely brilliant guess. Gorgeous bird. My husbands uncle has a Great Blue Heron pair that reside on his property. I love watching them. 🌾 Green Blessings 🌾
Jeff, I love birds and back more years than I care to recall, I was a member of an online audubon society group. We gathered info on the birds, location date and time. Also the different coloration, habitat, weather condition (rain, wind, snow). We logged our research everyday and loved it but it was paper and pencil work for the most part, I would've loved to have seen a white faced heron through my binoculars. Thanks so much for the video, great one.
Here in the States we have a variant called the blue heron. No white face and has a bill same color as the legs. They absolutely nuts over bugs and fish.

I have an app on my phone that helps identify birds. It even has the sounds they make. merlin.allaboutbirds.org I use it all the time. Not sure if it's for Australia. Wouldn't hurt to check it out.
It's a pretty bird. It looks like a Blue Heron except for the white face and the markings look natural. I mean they look like they're supposed to be there. I've really enjoyed your channel since subscribing. God bless you and yours!
