Bram25 Michael ironside is Sam fisher I agree, but this series has jumped the shark ever sense double agent... the only way a seventh splinter cell game would be worth playing is if they restarted the story and held true to the original concepts of 1getting seen is dying, 2 you're a spy, not a damn superhero. and 3 splinter cells are splinter cells, not double or rogues agents. ... they would do well to add in the realistic nature of the novels though (like how he gets around by a rental car, not osprey in most of his missions, or how he's on his own, not talking on the radio constantly.)
You do realize this game takes place long before the events of the first Splinter Cell game right ? I'm ok it's not Mike Ironside because this is a younger version of Sam . But he still has a similar tone of voice but younger sounding . Never the less this game is a masterpiece

Anyone with firearms experience will tell you, suppressors do not make your weapon sound like a mouse fart. Doesn't matter if they are sub sonic ammo or not. That only determines if the bullet breaks the sound barrier while traveling which creates the supersonic crack. They are still as loud as a Jet engine. And these are not .22 caliber weapons, the FN 5.7 that Sam usually carries is 5.7mm and has a shit ton of muzzle energy due to the type of rounds it uses (basically a scaled down rifle round to fit a handgun).
Yes, there are videos showing there is a sound difference, but it does not make the weapon silent to the same degree as the game portrays. 1, a rifle suppressor is much larger than a pistol suppressor and can dissipate the gasses more efficiently, reducing the volume further, but still not to the point that people could not hear it. 2, the amount of sound that is reduced is almost laughable compared to the total noise caused by a gunshot. Typical gunshots are about 150 to 160ish db, a suppressed shot is about 140ish, depending on the quality of the device and the caliber of the weapon. Most pistol calibers have muzzle velocities around 800-1100 fps, the FN 5.7 is around 2000 - 2300. To get that kind of speed you need a large boom, which is not easily suppressed with pistol sized suppressors. To add on top of that, you do a lot of shooting in the game indoors, which will increase the perceived volume. All in all, most games do not get firearms right on any aspect other than they shoot people. It is rare to find a game that accurately depicts the ballistic and capability characteristics of the firearms they use.
How can no other bad guy hear their fellow bad guy scream, "Oooooooooh!" When they die 20 feet behind them? Some game mechanics need to be fixed for many games, but this is one that's been there from the beginning lol
This Prequel is still fantastic even in 2021 . Let's hope we get a new Splinter Cell game within the next year with this type of gameplay set in an open type world kinda like Wildlands with a real time weather/Day and night cycle. That would be dope .

Headshot doesn't kill instantly. Bullet is not a magic turn off spell, it's a fast oversonic piece of metal that breaking all the way though bones and ripping brain apart. It's not just lethal, it's painful as hell.
There will be a Splinter Cell in 2019, UbiCentral confirmed it but I wonder if there's any chance Ubisoft could remaster this masterpiece for PS4. Edit: The only thing I don't like about this game aside from the blind and deaf AI is that the part you complete as Briggs aside from the final chapter force you to do it in first person perspective, why can't developers just let gamers choose which perspective to play the game from like! In racing games, we're free to choose between automatic and manual transmission and we're not forced at all.
Screw Ghost, this is the perfect middle ground. Remain in stealth but don't pull of 200IQ manoeuvres to avoid the enemy. This is the good middle ground
