    Took your advice on the finesse jig and it really paid off on some cold Mississippi River smallies.

      I need to get some confidence in blade baits because they are great cold water baits.😊

    I fish a lot of lakes in north central Ontario and have been banging slobs since October with the Keitech finesse football and Ned trailer ( all black or green pumpkin) can’t get any more finesse than a Ned lol! Actually caught my PB LMB with that combo two weeks ago. When the water temps hit just below 60 is when the bite fire, in my experience. Great channel BTW! 👊🏼🎣

      Thank you!!! In all honesty I forgot to mention a light 1/8 or 3/32 ounce ned or hair jig floated down to bottom. It can be deadly when the bite is tough too. Thanks for mentioning that
      Also congrats on the PB!

    Great tips as always. I still have to try the skirted jig/ned combo. Curious on seeing a snap attached to your swimbait jighead, any particular reason? I imagine it will give the head more room to wobble on retrieve, but for vertical applications i would think a atraight tie is non-negotiable, no?

    • @Sgt6217
      @Sgt6217 10 месяцев назад

      I was thinking that too. I tie a loop knot if I want extra action on the retrieve and a palomar knot for everything else.

    • @brnowak_fishing
      @brnowak_fishing  10 месяцев назад +1

      The snap is a new addition that I’ve been playing with the last few trips out. There are some major benefits, action being one of them, but I’ll talk more about it in a Swimbait video coming soon

    Amazing stuff!!!! I'm learning a lot about small mouth bass. I live in the NY metro area. The water temps get to 40-50 f. I was told to downsize my real speed to a 5:01 -5:81 to keep the bait in the strike zone longer. I noticed you're not using color's like chartreuse, pink purple or other bright colors. Is there a difference?

    Great video Ben! Unfortunately fishing is over for the season for me as no time anymore and the weather has been cold and wet up here in Ontario, Canada. The boat is stored and winterized for the season so all the best for the holidays and will hopefully be back on the water in 6 to 7 month's.

    Hey Ben, are you purely dragging the OW sniper in cold water or hopping with pauses inbetween?

    • @brnowak_fishing
      @brnowak_fishing  10 месяцев назад

      It’s really a combination of hops and slow drags. It really depends on activity level of the fish and honestly changes day to day

    Do you not find that fishing the blade on 8 or 10fc the bait fouls up on the line and ruins your cast? I switched out to a heavier leader and the bait fouls up on the line much much less.

    • @brnowak_fishing
      @brnowak_fishing  10 месяцев назад

      It does definitely foul more on lighter line. Running heavier leader would help but that light line also helps the blade activate more quickly so it’s a trade off and really depends on the mood of the fish

  • @sportsock42
    @sportsock42 11 месяцев назад

    Do you shift the line tie location on your blade baits for different conditions/retrieves?

    • @brnowak_fishing
      @brnowak_fishing  11 месяцев назад

      Not really. I know the front hole will make the bait sit more flat and the back hole will let it fall more nose down for faster fall, but I typically go with the 2nd hole from the front

      In my experience the fall bite starts to really turn on just around 60° or just under. Historically I get into schools of bigs at 55-58. I hope this helps.
