Such a blessing to have this world class fishery in our backyard! This weather has been a challenge, but LSC never disappoints! Thanks again for that St. Jude’s Charity Auction info. Actually won something lol!
awesome video with a lot of really good information. I'm in Louisiana and I'm getting started planning a week long trip up there. videos like this make me feel a lot better about going at this self guided. ill probably plan to head up there next spring so i have plenty of time to plan and research. Been catching largemouth in Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi and East Texas my entire life, I love fishing for offshore largemouth and spotted bass and Im ready to get into the smallmouth world. thanks a bunch!
I'll be up there for the first time Saturday. Taking a guided trip to get a small feel for it but I'm so so so excited to rip into a St. Clair smallie. Awesome video bro.
Excellent video. LSC is the closest body of water to me, I'm desperate to get a nice kayak so I can properly fish it, but right now I am confined to the bank. I have yet to have any major success with the smallies from shore, despite using many of the techniques you have described, but I only recently began to focus on the mile roads during the spring. Hoping I can start to knock 'em down like I do in the rivers and on the piers up in the thumb.
Great video, Benjamin and thanks for all the great info and tips!!!! good luck on the water, continue to pound those smallies. I'll be up there for 2 weeks out of next 5, cant wait. Love LSC, it's my favorite body of water. Can't beat a good smallie bite.
Ben great video !! What knot are you using on that 30-40’ floro leader to your braid ? I’ve had some trouble with my knot catching on the spool on a cast when I run a long leader like that. I use a Crazy Alberto to join mine. 👍👍
I occasionally have problems too, I think it’s how the line occasionally comes off the spool, sometimes I retie and take a few inches off, and good to go! I use the Crazy Alberto as well
I’ve never been out on Erie so the baits would be pretty much the same but I don’t know about patterns. I’d probably look moderately shallow though - 8-15 fow from 48-55* and then shallower around 55-65

Great Vid Ben! Hard to argue with any of those bait selections for Spring Smallies on the big pond!

What's great about being a local is knowing the bay well enough to be able to avoid the mile roads until summer.
Great info vid for the people who are wanting info about our amazing fishery we have here in our backyards
Awesome info for a beginner-thank you!
Nice video! Keep these up throughout the seasons.
Great info Ben still hoping to get up there in a few weeks.

Not a problem!
That Canadian side looks like a lot of water. Anyone ever do well on the Canadian side?
They do in the summer but it’s closed until later in the year
@@brnowak_fishing gotcha good to know. Thanks man. I’m always searching for that little slice of smallmouth utopia
Would this also apply for lake erie in some ways? Im aware both are different

Is it about to go down??!!
I think it’s already happening once we get some cleaning water
@@brnowak_fishing go grab that A-Rig too, Ben!
No dropshot? 😮
Not in the spring, I prefer dragging baits on bottom up until they get on beds
@Benjamin Nowak right on, we were out on the lake yesterday and absolutely tore them up on swimbaits and tubes. Thanks for all the content brother.🤘
Watch out…Musky like jerkbaits too.
