      @@efdcan I ask you a question. I installed the same model toilet but I'm having an issue where the water in the actual bowl slowly empties (3-4 minutes after a flush) but it doesn't refill. Basically it drains but the water in the tank doesn't refill it.
      It ends up causing the worst smell in the house and even mosquitoes come up from it but I can't figure out the cause and there are no videos addressing this issue. It's not a leak, not the issue that causes the toilet to constantly run, it just empties.

    • @efd
      @efd  11 месяцев назад

      @@Carls_World that is really odd, I've never heard of that happening before. the trap is built into the toilet so it can't really drain on its own. could be a manufacturing issue on your specific toilet.

    • @Carls_World
      @Carls_World 11 месяцев назад

      @@efd that's what I'm thinking. I think it's a defective toilet. So, I'm going to call the hotline tomorrow to see what they will do. It's so bad. I took a video but I would need to record the draining part separately. It's so weird, right? It's the Glacier Bay 215-583 . Unreal!
      Anyway, thank you for the quick response and for sharing your thoughts. It definitely helps.

    I do have a question...
    Does your toilet have a flush adjustment where you can adjust the flush, say if you have a house full of boys and you sorta need the #2 flush side to flush things down and not leave unwantables lingering about after they've flushed and left the bathroom? I have two of these toilets that someone else installed so I don't have any paperwork remaining that might have clarified this possible function of this toilet brand and so I don't know where to look inside the water tank to visually see if there's some sort of manual lever I can adjust if one does exist.

    • @efd
      @efd  2 года назад

      I haven’t found a way to adjust the flush, the water level in the bow is based on the height of the p trap so you can’t adjust that. For the tank, it fills to the top of the overflow so you can’t add more water by adjusting the float. I haven’t had any issues with mine.

    Love the video, very straight forward, however, I think you should have used some teflon tape for the connection between the two metal connections for the water intake. I think the plastic part is okay as there is a gasket, but metal on metal should have teflon. Only my opinion of coarse as I am NOT a plumber.

    • @efd
      @efd  Год назад

      I used to put teflon on as well but found with some of the cheaper materials, the metal/plastic would flex and the gasket wouldn't sit right leading to leaks. Not sure if its common but since it happened to me a couple times, I put my faith in the rubber gasket. :)

    I just bought two of these toilets to replace my old ones, so this video will be very helpful. My only question is was there an older toilet there before and if so, did you use liqui-lock for the excess water in both the bowl and tank?

    • @efd

      we did a replace a toilet. For the water in the old one, we flushed it, used a plunger to push as much water out as we could and carried it out outside. We have some water dripping but cleaned it up with a mop and towels.

      came out the top of the tank or from between the tank and the bowl? If its between the 2, could be the rubber washer didn't seat correctly or its overtightened which is causing a crease.

    Hello, I have this same toilet it was already installed in the house I recently purchased. The toilet now runs water intermittently. Normally when that happens you would adjust the float inside the tank. I have done that and it keeps running anyway. It will stop running once I adjust the float but then as soon as you flush the toilet it starts running again and you have to readjust the float again. Can you tell me how to fix this so it stops running?

    • @efd
      @efd  Год назад

      If the float adjustment isn’t working on the next flush, I am not sure. That’s what I would have suggested.

    • @kendalgee5808
      @kendalgee5808 Год назад

      It could possibly be because you have rust in your tank. If so, clean off the rust sludge off your rubber components near the rubber drain parts.

  • @yonne17
    @yonne17 Год назад

    Why would the water pressure be low in this toilet. Fills up/drains very slowly.

    • @efd
      @efd  Год назад

      Hmmm, that is odd, sounds like something might be blocking the water flow from the tank to the toilet. The flush is powered by the tank water pushing in the bowl at the bottom. Check the tank to see if there is any plastic or something at the bottom blocking the water.

      *Jay 949, I just left a message addressing this same issue! Well, I guess I really didn't "address" the issue, more like questioning this issue would be more descriptive. I wondered if there was some sort of lever or something that could be manually adjusted to increase the flush power?! And, since it was assembled by someone else and the inner workings are all in place, I wouldn't know where to look for something like that inside the water tank if there were! I just can't see there NOT being some way to adjust the flush. I'll keep looking and if I find something, I'll come back and let you know! Until then, be & stay well!
