Serrated or fine edge? Which one is better?

@d-zaynextreme If you're cutting a lot of rope or often cutting rope or cordage, serrated most definitely is the way to go. If not, then I would say a fine edge is great choice for cleaner cuts and ease of sharpening. I edc both styles and will say serrated blade cuts tend to not be as clean nor as easy to sharpen;serrated blades require their own style sharpening "sticks" or "rods"

I have been reviewing this knife more lately since I really liked the design. I have been searching for a replacement since a person I hired to sharpen it did a horrible job and it has been very dull ever since, to the point where it may be better to just purchase a new knife (lesson learned). I have been seeing in my research that apparently it is now "outdated" and search engines are telling me that there are "more up to date options" out there, but I am not directly seeing these "up to date" option.
I own this particular version of the knife and noticed on BladeHQ that their drop point and some of their tanto version do not have the enhanced grip with the multiple "dots" on the scales. At first I was wondering if this was just the way the pictures were taken. This video defintely highlights that enhanced grippiness of this model. This knife defintely has a great fit and feel to it and it a perfect size for my hands.
Please let me know if you have any recommendations.

@FitMagic Sorry for the delayed response, but the new ZT 0512 and Iridium Launch are two knives I would take into consideration. Both being American made, automatics, and bring quality steel materials for their blades. Both are new releases built on renowned robust platforms that Kershaw has been using the past few years. Looks to be a couple of great knives at a really tempting price.
Hope this helps, and I appreciate your comment. If neither of those suits you, I wouldn't hesitate to pick up another Gerber 06 while they stock and sell them because you never know when they will run out of stock and just randomly decide to discontinue a legend.
      Thanks for watching 💚🙏

I have the cheap version (assisted vs auto, 7cr vs s30v) and it's a great beater. I'd probably prefer it if the main edge was fully serrated, but it's still decent as is.
