Just a note- BTS aren't really a representative of all of kpop... there are many different artists/groups with different styles, skillsets, and sounds. Its like listening to one latin artist and basing your opinions on all latin music on that 😂 a lot of fans of BTS might also not really be fans of other kpop groups (myself included) I'm excited to see you guys react to more bts, and maybe other kpop groups if you would like. It really is difficult to understand why and how bts alone are so loved without experiencing it yourself :)

exactly. i couldn't have said it better. not to be rude but kpop really sounds generic. once you hear a few songs, they all sound the same BUT bts... they're on a whole new level. i've never heard anything like them in any country tbh. truly legendary people. i can't wait to see what they'll accomplish.
As a 2011 kpop fan, I was into Metal and Hard Rock.
A group called U-KISS got me into kpop.
Another group called BAP got me into hip hop because their leader, Bang Yongguk, loved the sound of rock songs. He tried to make that their main sound; hip hop/rock mixed. Which got me into BTS in 2013.
Without BAP a lot of multifandom fans prob wouldn't be ARMYs.
MONBEBEs, IGOT7s and ARMYs are also very mixed fandoms too.
Your story to finding them is different and whoever you talk to will be different to older and newer fans of kpop/Bangtan.
(U-KISS and BAP have disbanded, so KISS-MEs and BABYs have gone to either ARMYs/MONBEBEs/IGOT7s or girl groups. Lol)

Actually BTS made the song way before Steve Aoki remix came in. Steve Aoki did put his twist on it, but the remix is not that far from the original song BTS released in their album 'Love Yourself: Her'. Really enjoyed your reaction, we're definitely looking forward to more of your reactions to BTS!!

I get that the remix has a ton more english, and I love Steve and his twist on things, but the original is just as fire as this (in some ways I prefer the original "tones" but I do like the fact there is more english in this one - since my Korean is below mediocre).... but when I see reactors credit the bang factor to Steve I want them to go listen to the original to understand. LOL.... but they are both great.... and one of my favorite choreos.... Fire, Not Today, Blood Sweat and Tears.... ok, all other content needs to be seen. :-) Cheers! THANKS!!!!
Agreed! Since you are more into the production side of things, it would be very interesting for you guys to react to the original version. If you watch the dance practice video, it uses the original track.

Yeahh, I have been into rock all my life and also love symphonic metal, but look at me here being an ARMY since 2014... but I do not like kpop after trying so many groups.

bts does all genres theyre not limited to the kpop label their fans are all ages races genders etc. most fans are adults. their lyrics are very important so always turn on captions. they were the best selling artist in America in 2019 for physical albums.

I'M A BTS fan, really not a kpop fan. There are some good groups but BTS are the KINGS! They are the one breaking down the barriers. Taking all the heat and the arrows. BTS do so many different genres. In the next month they will be releasing a new album called Map of the Soul: 7. They've already released an intro called MOTS 7: SHADOW. You should react to that. So im a 66yr old grandmother and Ive listened to a lot of music and liked a lot of music from various genres then I found BTS (or should say they found me) I am now n official member of the fan club , first fan club ive ever been a part of or ever wanted to be a part of. BTS are unlike any other group ive ever followed. You really need to check out their lyrics as they are very important in most of their songs. BTW the dislikes are from haters they do it deliberatly so we are used to it. If you get interested in the history of BTS you will find out why this happens.

They started from nobody, who flyering their free concert, and now they sold out all stadium. And also gain economic for south korea.

Bts Is south Korean group, this days people prefer don't mix them with kpop. (A large story)
1. They are 7, 4 vocalist, 3 rappers (2 underground rappers) all dancers
2. Bts compose and produce their own music, so is very personal, they talk about mental health, politics, society, their fans, self love, etc
3. They have a story behind their videos so is difficult to new people understand, we (the armys) have to read a several books and study set, philosophy, psychology and mythology to understand. Their last album for example was "map of the soul:persona" and is inspired by the psychologist book the map of the soul by Jung.
4. The army love them because they are good people who through a lot of bad things to be where they are now, and even being famous they stay humble.
5. They have a lot of genres and you can find subtitles in every possible language.

I'll give u guys a proper sequence to understand this if u will like to in future. Hope this will help for now.

Kpop doesn’t have only genre of music. It has all of them.
BTS might be KPOP but they are so much bigger than KPOP thats why they have been able to capture many funs allover the world. Their style is not limited to korean pop and they have proved that many times. Thats why most people will tell you they are not KPOP fans but love BTS because BTS has widened the scope. Even this song, most lyrics might be in korean but the style is so international. Thats why they got Aoki on this, they are venturing out. No boundaries.
This is not to disrespect other KPOP groups but we gotta admit, BTS has recruited more international fans to KPOP than ever in KPOP history.

I used to be big into Kpop when I was younger but then got out of it because people were so toxic. Literally had a girl hate me, in real life, because I had the same favorite (bias) in the group as her. Like WTF? But with BTS I got back into it! It's good stuff. BTS is more than Kpop, there is no comparison to other Kpop groups. They are very versatile, they can sing many different genres, they produce and compose most of their own music. Please react to more BTS MV's as well as their live performances, you will be impressed.
They produce and compose almost all of their own music with help from their in-house team at bighit. Steve Aoki remixed this song from an original song by BTS and the original is hella lit too. (NOTE: so many people already said this but, BTS is not representative of KPOP. While they do exist within that industry, they are remarkably different in exceptional ways from both western music and their native music as well)

So I wanna clear up some things in the comments. BTS is in fact kpop I’m a huge fan of BTS and other groups it hurts that people are trying to push BTS into a separate box saying they aren’t kpop they are different and better than everyone else. BTS themselves have said they are kpop and when they started their career the point was for them to be a kpop group. BTS is very popular rn but that doesn’t mean they are better than everyone else and I don’t think they would want people saying they are. BTS are very humble people who really love all their ARMY (BTS fan base) you can like just BTS and not any other groups but if you listen to BTS you in fact listen to kpop and would be a kpop fan. Like I said before stop saying they are better and not kpop it’s not fair. They sing in korean, were trained in the kpop training system, they are all KOREAN, they are kpop it’s that simple guys. Also last time the happy bright song Boy With Luv is tied into their concepts, they are following Jung's Map Of The Soul psychology. It was off their Persona album that represented their outer image, showered with love, happy and successful. However this new album called 7 goes into Ego and Shadow that represents their unconscious and hidden away features like their fears and demons. The concept is actually way more elaborate but I hope I summarized it well this way.

Trust me, there are a LOT of amazing groups in KPOP (of so many different music genres) just because they aren't as popular as BTS doesn't mean they aren't just as amazing. NCT127, EXO (you'll love OBSESSION by EXO) Monsta X , Seventeen, SF9. Some recommendations would be OBSESSION and MONSTER by EXO, Beautiful by MONSTA X, FEAR by SEVENTEEN, REGULAR and LIMITLESS by NCT127, Say My Name and Answer by ATEEZ. Don't fall into the trap that just because you get the most views for BTS, that they are the only ones worth reacting to ;) Mic Drop is THAT song though. It was my Number 2 pick for 2017, I played nothing else for two weeks straight.

Love BTS. I personally don't care for most kpop, but BTS is amazing.
In the west we lump BTS into the kpop genre because it makes it more digestible for us but I promise you BTS is not really limited to any genre. They're multi-media artists whose art spans several genres (hip hop, r&b, pop, edm, ballads, orchestral pieces) and multiple mediums (films, physical art, music of course, web comics, they even have a book). A lot of BTS fans don't listen to kpop (myself included). But BTS is special. I know that sounds cliche. But they just are. Try to go into this journey without the perceptions you have a "kpop." They'll never stop surprising you. :) (e.g. this comeback they're sponsoring a whole global curated art experience where they funded modern artists all over the world to create art just for the sake of itself. The project is called BTS_Connect and it's insane!)

I think it is important to understand that K-pop is more of an industry, which describes artists and idols from companies in Korea, rather than a genre, as well all know that many groups (at the forefront BTS) can explore multiple genres.
Guys, bts describe themselves as kpop too and aren't ashamed of it... kpop is bigger than a 'genre', no need to hate on kpop, theres plenty of amazing artists when u take time to explore .

I still remember seeing BTS name on a few suggestions on my feed, but not really interested because kdrama had my full attention, I surrender after my all time kdrama channel talked about them in a very special way after living and studying in Korea, so she knows how to spot gold, 2016 and 2015 Dope was out and so was I.....been an ARMY since...35yo lady mom here....I suggest you to watch this Mic Drop performance...thanks
