Got me the Squier 70s jazzmaster class vibe walnut with block inlays🤘 I too love inlays😅, would you recommend the Squier 60s jag all white the one like Carl Wilson or The 70s vibe Jag, anyways keep rocking 🎸✌️
Looks KILLER! i'm weighing this against a player series jaguar. There's a lot to like about the squier! ...But. The single coils! You seem to be into high gain stuff. Doesn't the hum bother you? Is there a hum cancelling position, like there (are 2) in a Strat? Is the cool vibe of the squier worth losing a humbucker? Or is there a classic "jag tone" that is lost when you take out the stock bridge single coil p/up? I don't know any of this. I've never had the pleasure of playing one, not even at a guitar store, unplugged! Is there a distinct difference in tone between a jag and a jazzmaster (scale length aswell as different pickups) ? Your video leads me to think you might be able to answer all these jag questions at once. It'd be great if you can! Thanks mate. I hope your answers enable me to buy this black squier jag - it really does look so Killer...
I bought a Fender Player series Jag. Used to oen a Squier VM Jag. Of this new CV has similar build quality to the Vintage Modified series (Both made in Indonesia). I’d rather invest a bit more to get the Player series Jag. Love it to bits. No issues with sharp frets (seems like a first batch issue). And the splittable humbucker in the bridge offers some nice added variations to the 2 single cool option
Robert Palacios Thank you, just keep playing along to your favourite songs. And don’t worry too much about having expensive gear you can sound great on budget guitars and amps 👍🏻
Man I really regret not buying the black. The blue was all they had, daphene blue. How expensive would it be to change the finish down the road if I ever get the urge?
awesome Lloyd, very cool love the improv noise work, exactly what I need to hear through it. sounds great looking forward to getting into mine. great vid man.
WOW! Love this guitar! I’m going to buy one of these, but the dilemma is that I love the colors of this model. PLEASE, would you help me choose a color? Which do you prefer: BLACK or SUNBURST? THANKS!!!!!
Love this guitar since the day I got mine . Lots of fiddling and work to do but that made me love her more than before, because it worked out fine . Can‘t put the damn thing down . It‘s like having a new girlfriend , you can‘t stop !
Lord Fuzzman will do! I got it and I’ve been jamming on for a few hours. So far I really, really, like it. The pick guard actually looks better than I thought it would and the pickups sound a bit nicer than the Duncan designed...well at least to my ears anyways. I still plan on replacing them with antiquities.
This is an awesome combination, black & chrome with blocks . I have never owned an offset before . It's cool Squier do so many great instruments these days, this video has given me GAS , cheers then ! 😊👍
DB Jetpacks The KC Jaguar is much better quality, classic player is pretty similar to the Squier but maybe a little more heavy. I guess it depends how much you like block inlays. You’d have to route out the body to fit humbuckers in this Squier which is a pain in the ass if you haven’t done it before 👍🏻
I have the Classic Vibe Jaguar, and I really like it, but I'm thinking of upgrading the pickups. Do you have any suggestions? I have Fender 57/62s on my Strat, so I'm looking for something different from that tone -- perhaps more biting and angular.
Thomas Morgan The Alinco in the classic vibe is Alinco 3 which is why they may seem a little weak. I’d go with Seymour Duncan Hot Jaguar pickups or the Fender v-mod Jaguar pickups. Both of those are Alinco 5.
Ryan Connolly at Work If you’re looking for the surf tone then I’d suggest sticking with the Alnico 3 pickups or maybe going Alnico 2. If you want a Jag for punk then get Alnico 5.
ang thekeys - Hi, the nut doesn’t need changing it just needs filing down in places so that when you press the strings down on the first couple of frets it doesn’t send the note sharp. I changed the tuners on mine to Gotoh vintage Sd 91’s. They look identical but make a whole world of difference to tuning stability! 👍🏻
In effect when i play arpeggios with B, G, strngs free, like Bb- on first frets strings are always out of tuning, playng from 6th 7th it’s different, i’m thinking to give the squier back and upgrade to fender jaguar player series
ang thekeys - it needs a proper set up on the nut that’s all. If you are not confident doing it yourself any guitar could do this easily! 👍🏻 This is very common on cheap guitars
Hi Lord Fuzzman, I have an epiphone SG but don't play it much - I actually think I need a guitar with a whammy bar. Which whammy bar having offset guitar would you recommend - I had a jaguar in mind - only because of Rowland S Howard though
Oh, Fuzzman, my Fuzzman- I see you're a man both with digital callipers and the guitar I'm lusting for. Please could you help a fellow Jagboi out, and measure the neck (fretboard to back of the neck) at like.. the 5th fret? And maybe the 1st and 12th if you're feeling charitable? I'm trying to get a feel for it without, uh, getting a feel for it. Thanks so much, and thanks for such a great video. AND you're an Idles fan, get in!
So... would you go with this, or spend another £300 and get the Fender Player Jag? Aside from the Humbucker in the bridge, is there a huge difference in build quality?
Vaughtex Good question. The player is def not worth spending £300 extra on. They are pretty similar in build quality to be honest. Squier has come a hell of a long way. If you do buy .. there is a link in the video description. If you buy through that if throws a few quid my way to keep the channel going which is appreciated 👍🏻 Either way good luck and any questions pop back and I’m happy to answer
It feels very similar to my MIJ Jaguar, a chap I know who has just bought one of these said exactly the same thing. I think the overall build quality is as good as MIM and if not better in some areas 👍🏻

dctat2 my initial impression was that I prefer the pups in the VM but I’m gonna do a side by side comparison video so I know for sure 👌
I love how this demo ends in a sheer cacophony. :D
Got me the Squier 70s jazzmaster class vibe walnut with block inlays🤘 I too love inlays😅, would you recommend the Squier 60s jag all white the one like Carl Wilson or The 70s vibe Jag, anyways keep rocking 🎸✌️
I've got mine classic vibe jaguar today. It feels sounds and weighs like basswood rather than poplar.
Gonna buy one for some Rowland S Howard tones
I’m thinking on getting this guitar once I save this money!
Really amazing sounds! Just learning, but basically, your playing is what I'm aiming for!
Robert Palacios Thank you, just keep playing along to your favourite songs. And don’t worry too much about having expensive gear you can sound great on budget guitars and amps 👍🏻
@@LordFuzzman Thanks for the encouragement! Punk and fuzzy playing is so distorted, it hardly matters! Great channel, learning a lot!
Omg points for demoing with ‘Quiet Room’!
I’ve played BiT a few times on my videos … one of my fave bands 👌
How does this kind of guitar, specifically this model, handle changes from standard to drop D in a pinch?
Yeah no problem particularly if you use bigger gauge strings which is always wise on a shorter scale guitar 👌
What Pedals are on 3:24??? It Sounds absolutley amazing! Rock on!
Owen Carswell good question. Think is a Hudson broadcast. Boss delay, boss flanger and a cheap reverb
Thank you. It sounded really cool
Sounds like Smashing Pumpkins' iconic tone.. 😎
Jodi Gilar - really? I’ll take that!!
Man I really regret not buying the black. The blue was all they had, daphene blue. How expensive would it be to change the finish down the road if I ever get the urge?
You could do it yourself with spray cans with a little patience very cheap!
awesome Lloyd, very cool love the improv noise work, exactly what I need to hear through it. sounds great looking forward to getting into mine. great vid man.
the spiders, gutternoize pedals, james heighway ..thanks buddy!! Yeah think after a few mods this is def a keeper!!!! 👍🏻
yeah its a keeper for me for sure, after modding with be a dream jag for me.
WOW! Love this guitar! I’m going to buy one of these, but the dilemma is that I love the colors of this model. PLEASE, would you help me choose a color? Which do you prefer: BLACK or SUNBURST? THANKS!!!!!
Mayga Pereyra - Black all day long!!! 👍🏻
;D Muchas gracias!
Just got one this week, love it.
Love this guitar since the day I got mine . Lots of fiddling and work to do but that made me love her more than before, because it worked out fine . Can‘t put the damn thing down . It‘s like having a new girlfriend , you can‘t stop !
Ha ha that analogy made me spit my coffee out 😂 ... glad you are enjoying it! Just be careful after 7 years 😬
what are some things youve done and why? ive had this guitar since its release but never did anything to it
Mine should be arriving tomorrow! So stoked!!! I’m definitely doing a matching headstock!
Cool, pop me a message on here and let me know how you get on with it!! 👍🏻
Hello Lord Fuzzman, what size of strings did you put on this guitar ?
This had 10s on this video but to get the guitar playing at its best. I recommend 11s, a 1 degree neck shim and preferably a Staytrem bridge 👌
@@ericfidone7937 Squier jag 70s 👌
...also, do you construct Fuzz pedals? If so, are you the guy who created a pedal that emulates Daniel Ash's sound from his Bauhaus days?
This is an awesome combination, black & chrome with blocks . I have never owned an offset before . It's cool Squier do so many great instruments these days, this video has given me GAS , cheers then ! 😊👍
Shaun W - Well good luck on the GAS and getting your first offset 👌
Do you think it’s worth putting humbuckers into this guitar or just saving up for a kc jaguar or classic player
DB Jetpacks The KC Jaguar is much better quality, classic player is pretty similar to the Squier but maybe a little more heavy. I guess it depends how much you like block inlays. You’d have to route out the body to fit humbuckers in this Squier which is a pain in the ass if you haven’t done it before 👍🏻
Lord Fuzzman thank you very much! I didn’t realise you had to route.
Just got the word. My jag has been shipped. I should have it on weds. USA
dctat2 - great news ...enjoy 👍🏻
Congrats!
do you know if squier will be selling those mustang style bridges alone? would love to get one for my v mod
Medurem - they’d be crazy if they didn’t!! 👍🏻
I want a classic vibe strat and one of these, ok a tele too. 😂 seriously , I need a strat.
@@aw2832 Which would be best for a great surf tone?
Ryan Connolly at Work If you’re looking for the surf tone then I’d suggest sticking with the Alnico 3 pickups or maybe going Alnico 2. If you want a Jag for punk then get Alnico 5.
Ryan Connolly at Work But don’t take my opinions too seriously. I’m no professional.
Have you only used the Hudson Broadcast? Which model?
Enzo Carvalho yeah it was the Broadcast BC-24v-PG model although I was running it in normal 9 volt
Hi, what do you think it’s better to do for improving the tuning, change the nut?tuners?
ang thekeys - Hi, the nut doesn’t need changing it just needs filing down in places so that when you press the strings down on the first couple of frets it doesn’t send the note sharp.
AND you're an Idles fan, get in!
d o o g -Ha ha I totally would have done that for you but I sold that Jag!! It’s a pretty thin neck to be honest 👌
@@LordFuzzman hahaah ahhh mate. Ah well. Any recollection of how it felt vs the VM?
d o o g yeah it’s very similar to the VM. Not much in it really!
Lord Fuzzman cheers man 💖
So... would you go with this, or spend another £300 and get the Fender Player Jag? Aside from the Humbucker in the bridge, is there a huge difference in build quality?
Vaughtex Good question. The player is def not worth spending £300 extra on. They are pretty similar in build quality to be honest. Squier has come a hell of a long way. If you do buy .. there is a link in the video description. If you buy through that if throws a few quid my way to keep the channel going which is appreciated 👍🏻 Either way good luck and any questions pop back and I’m happy to answer
Do you hate the frets?
(Rob from Meat Manifesto did.)
William Taylor - Nono thought I would but but they feel fine to me, they are only slightly more narrow and tall than the VM
Sounds and looks great!! 👍
How does it feel compared to MIM and MIJ Jaguars? I want a classic Jag in addition to my MIM Special HH Jag.
It feels very similar to my MIJ Jaguar, a chap I know who has just bought one of these said exactly the same thing. I think the overall build quality is as good as MIM and if not better in some areas 👍🏻
@@LordFuzzman thanks a lot! Wow, it it's THAT good, it's a best deal for the money...
3:42 What is this fuzz pedal? I loved it!
Enzo Carvalho - Hudson Broadcast 👍🏻
